My son & I had an AWESOME experience today at MI-Combat. John (the GM) called to notify me a few hours before our session that there were no other participants signed up. Therefore, he volunteered 2 of his extremely kind staff to play 2-on-2 games for 45 minutes to ensure we had an AMAZING experience. The facility was clean, modern, extremely well engineered, and roomy w/lots of good sniping/hiding spots. Staff were incredible, too! The games were very well designed & required ingenuity/teamwork. Came here with a group of 4 (pre-booked) on a Saturday evening. As others have said, the check-in process can be a little bit lengthy depending on how many new players are there. I'd recommend registering online if you can to save time. They advise you arrive 30 minutes early to get though this process. Lockers are available for a small cost, so that you can store your stuff safely. Getting into the actual laser tag: *Multiple games/objectives *Great workout *Big facility *Great employees I'd definitely come back with a group again. This place is really cool! The problem I have is with the staff. Half way through the game, one team is losing so they want to even it up (understandable). They have an employee that joins the game and just destroys everyone. So much so, that it made the rest of the experience unenjoyable. This was my first time and likely my last. My experience was awful. The staff joined the game from the start and the team they were on won every round. Very unfair as well as staff made themselves harder to kill. I stood behind one and shot him 6 times and he turned around and shot me once and killed me. It was completely unfair. I will not be recommending this place to anyone if the staff Tun the entire show. Our staff team leader who was there to help, did not help at all. I expressed my concerns for the staff cheating and he just laughed and shook his head yes. The staff members were also trading equipment mid game when theirs weren't working correctly but 50% of my teams guns were not working correctly. There's a set of rules, no sprinting, no lying down, etc. People who made reservations followed the rules whilst staff did not. One staff member was sprinting and bumped into me. I also seen multiple staff member covering their sensors and lying down. The staff ruins the competitive factor and makes the experience awful. **update** No I am not related to Sara A. Although, seeing the day she posted her review, she was probably in the same match as mine. It's not acceptable for you to assume we're related just because we had the same experience. I am certain that there was some malfunction with the staff members vest then because everyone was having struggles killing him. The staff members were not split up, they were on the same team. The only "staff" member we had was someone who said he used to work there. I have email and texts receipts from the day. My name is on the sign in with my access code for 8pm on November 3rd. My username is Breezyylindsayy Incase you overlooked that too. How do you explain the workers breaking the rules as an exception? Running into people, sprinting, laying down. I have been here twice. The 1st was fun/competitive. The second was the complete opposite. They let staff play during games. Our team won the initial 3 games (due to spawn location). Upon spawn switch, both mi combat employees played on the same team as eachother, 1 putting up 65 kills, the other 35 when the highest scorer on our team put up 20. To top it off, the staff that jumped ship, continued to wear the same vest as our team adding more frustration. A few of us took off our vest and put down our guns before the game was over. STAFF SHOULD NOT PLAY IN THESE GAMES! Customers are paying to play with friends and strangers. Not some try hard 22 year old that memorized the layout. *Add So changing the experienced members to the same team while keeping the team unbalanced (3 player advantage) is common practice? I appreciate your follow up. This could have been remedied as multiple people informed staff that the game was getting very frustrating. Staff could tell how unbalanced it was. read more

A bunch of 11 year old boys had an awesome time! Even a few of the adults played along, my husband included. Definitely different than you basic laser tag. It was a great experience as we had a semi-private party. Only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because a few of the participants had issues with their equipment and the building was hot. The entire thing was unorganized and very confusing for first timers. staff were tired looking and the experienced players were intimidating. lastly, masks are not enforced here and many were not wearing them. don't come here if you have any human decency or common sense when it comes to the health and safety of others. Update: Wow. I feel completely insulted by the owner. Never have I been discredited for my experience at a business. My review is in fact based on my real experience. I had taken my friend here for her birthday and had bought your tickets via Groupon. I will leave a review there as well now since I am insultingly being questioned of my valid review. During my visit and throughout the 90 minute game there were several people who were not wearing masks at any point. I saw no employee say anything to them. When I was checking in at the front desk several people walked in without masks and nothing was said to them. This happened and that is the reason for my review. I would've understood an apology as I am a customer service employee myself and have repeatedly reminded customers to wear a mask. This did not happen and no mask policy was enforced. Additionally, the owner failed to successfully communicate with me before accusing me of lying further proving my initial review stating a lack of human decency. - Also, you criticize me for "not having friends" and being from out of state. 8 other reviews here are from accounts who don't have yelp friends and several people here are from out of state. I really hoped for a good time here, the ambiance is great and the manager was super nice!! However, our team leader was on his phone the entire time and wouldn't answer our questions. He also laughed at us for being newbies and complained about it to our other teammates who had played before! A seriously immature and lazy team leader. The other team cheated, which was not handled well, as the "rules" were not enforced at all (ie. camping, sprinting, covering vests, etc.) and when we told the team leaders about it (whom we were told we should tell) they shrugged it off and did nothing. I am very sad to say this, but we will not be returning, nor would we recommend this place. Bummer! read more

The games where alot of fun. We worked up a good sweat. The only reason and kind of a big one for not giving 5 stars is that the guns are getting a bit worn down and a few people on our team (they are adults) where having gun troubles, issues like the slide not registering that you racked a round. so relouding was not an option and they would go find a field officer (worker) and the person would mess with it and say ok your good. soon as clip was empty unable t reloud and back to the field officer. If the guns all worked as they should have all in my party would of had a great time. read more

Everyone here is phenomenal!! We often book my sons birthdays here and the staff has never failed to go out of their way. Steve in particular is a humble down to earth, caring individual! We had to reschedule our even a few times due to family conflicting schedules and Steve went out of his way to accommodate and make sure my son has a great bday. The best birthday experience my son and his friends had. I was stuck on what to do for my 12year old son, i figured this would be perfect for all ages. My older cousins who are in their twenties had just as much fun either the pre teens. The staff and service was excellent! John went out of his way to accommodate with table settings, they checked up to make sure we were good. Provided everything to make my sons birthday so relaxing and enjoyable. I had never been laser tagging and this sure was an experience, haha! I went with a group of friends and had a blast. I seriously did not expect for it to be as much of a workout as it ended up being - not for the faint of heart! You will absolutely need to drink water while playing here. The games are long enough without overkill, intense, and for sure holds your interest. My immediate perception was that coming here is literally like a "real-life" Halo (early Halo, at least) First of all this place is huge - it's definitely got a "warehouse" feel to it which is almost unexpected. You wear a headband and vest with sensors while playing. The gun you carry is actually weighty and feels realistic. You have to reload as you run out of ammo, and they even refer to a "re-spawn" where you regain "life" after you "die" which is at your base/side of the playing field. Staff is fun, encouraging, and thorough with assisting in any way you could ask. I'd love to bring my salon team here for an event! The opposing group was definitely familiar with the game play - which was admittedly comical at first, and I say that mostly because they were annoyingly good. We got our butts kicked, sincerely - BUT once you became familiar with the territory it was so much more fun. Near the end of our time here (in the last couple rounds of the game) I felt way more confident in just navigating the area and becoming familiar with the actual game play. Bring a hair tie, and I would recommend going in clothes you can sweat in. I was literally drenched in my own sweat by the end of the game and wish I would have dressed more appropriately! This place is open late, too - and on weekdays! - and it was honestly refreshing to get out and do something like this with a group of people that didn't involve going to a bar or bowling. Okay so don't go during the week at all! There's only 2 people there so don't even bother. Me and my friends have been multiple times and had fun with more people but if you don't have at least 5 for each team not worth 30$ Today we decided to go despite knowing this already because We've been so many other times So we show up and have to pay for 2v2 then we ask them to throw in an employee so now it's 2v3, us being the 2 which we were alright with having an disadvantage. Because we have experience. then midway thru our game one of the players on the other gets swapped with the best player in Michigan and 3rd in the WORLD like what the hell is that about ?? Not only are we at a disadvantage cuz it's 2v3 but now your gona let this guy play a game or 2 for free and trade places with someone that's not fair!! this place should have a minimum 8 player games and NOT ALLOW THE BEST PLAYER IN THE STATE SWAP OUT FOR SOMEONE, Who I'm sure played for free like what ? That's just ridiculous! ONLY GO ON THE WEEKEND OR WITH A BIG GROUP !other then that THIS place has so much potential and there is great fun to be had if you do it right. For all of the first timers: bring waters into the arena, dress lightly (because you will sweat profusely), and stretch your legs before you go! Also, be careful running around tight corners with your gun pointed out. You could take out an eye! I underestimated how tired I would be, but then again it is 60 to 90 minutes of holding what seems like a 10 pound gun and constantly reloading. I was constantly thirty, out of breath, and my legs kept locking up if I stood still for any more than a minute or two. At some point in the game, the stairs aren't worth it. The reloading part, although a realistic concept, was quite tiresome since half the time...I pressed the button to release the cartridge, it wouldn't release. So you would have to repeat the whole process. Other teammates had issues with their gear, vest and gun malfunctioning midgame. And be prepared for that one guy that shoots like this was what he was born to do. They can pretty much take it a while team! HA! but it's all in fun! That being said, this was an entirely fun experience! Kids 10 and up would enjoy it. Adults would enjoy this. And I would certainly do it again. Oh last note, come a half hour early if you have a big group 15+ as it takes quite some time to sort out the registration. Our group had a whole miscommunication with the front desk as they thought we had one more person than we paid for (which we didn't)...it ate into a bit of our play time, but as a group of 20+, it's understandable. read more

The workers were nice, the establishment was nice, but the players for the most part were very competitive, rude, and mean. They were campers, and you could not leave your base without getting sniped instantly. Would never return, would not recommend going. Super fun! I brought 6 ppl. Some ppl are very competitive so I understand some of the views where ppl being rude but I wouldn't rate MI-Combat bad cause of that! They even took a picture of us and sent it via text! If you want to complain about the players then bring ppl. It has nothing to do with MI-Combat.. THEY ARE GREAT. Employees helpful. Only thing I would change is when you get hit you only have 3 seconds from base to hide.. its not long enough. The other team were spawn killing us. I would give it 5 sec's before I can get hit or make the other base not so visible. I plan on coming back this weekend. Give it a try.. adult laser tag. super fun and you get exercise. This is such an amazing laser tag experience. It's definitely not like how we played back in the day and I'm thrilled by this fresh, fun version. I've been a couple of times and I'm always looking to drag new friends back with me. Be pre-warned though, there are people that take this game far too seriously and I have seen them ruin the experience for others. My first time doing any kind of laser tag (missed out during my childhood). Had a fantastic time. I went as part of a whopping 38-person group which kept things intense. It's probably not as fun with smaller groups. Every combatant dons a vest and a headband with light sensors that you can shoot at. When you "die", your vest and headband light up in bright red and your gun stops working, forcing you to run back to the base to "respawn" like in a video game. This makes it easy to identify who's been shot, and also means it's possible to achieve the coveted "headshots" of video games :) The guns are also very cool - they're replica MP5s with red-dot sights, adjustable stocks, and magazines that are sort-of-removable (pressing the eject button makes them fall downwards but they remain attached). The magazine part adds to the realism since after 30 shots, you need to "reload" by pressing the eject button, then slamming the magazine back in. It would be even cooler if the magazine detached completely, but I guess they went with this setup to reduce the chances of the guns getting damaged or parts getting lost. The combat environment is a plywood mockup of an urban setting. Players of Call of Duty 4 will probably be reminded of the "Killhouse" multiplayer map. During the combat itself, there will be a lot of ducking, jogging, and "oh-s***" moments. I actually sweated even more than I do during my martial arts classes! I had a great experience. I went with a group of about 17 people on a Sunday but there were a lot of other people there too. The game and guns were extremely fun and felt realistic. The guns are not too heavy but I would not recommend children under 9 going here as they do get a bit heavy but for anyone older than that you should be fine. There were several different game modes the staff were very friendly and everything was overall really fun. I went on a weekend so idk if there would be a lot of people during the week which would make it a bit less fun but if you are doing it on a weekend you don't need a large group as there already a bunch of people there. I've been to a few different laser tag places, and this is the best one so far. The guns are heavy enough to feel real. They also look real. But once you get to playing, you don't even remember that the guns are heavy. Unfortunately, it's about a 45 min. drive from my house. The music is fun and motivating. Definitely wear lightweight clothing, even in the winter. Because I can promise you, if you play the game right, you will work up a sweat. The staff there is usually always nice and helpful if you have questions about your laser gun. read more

This place is fun, and a great workout too! You are divided into teams and accomplish missions. It's not your 6 year old's laser tag. It's far more complex than that. I really enjoyed myself and everyone had a great time. When we got there, it was like everyone on the teams bonded, even if they didn't know each other. It is a blast. Staff are extremely friendly and get more so the more you go. The facility is clean and the field changes every few months, so there is always going to be something new in the future. Depending on who is there the experience can change dramatically. If a lot of newer players are there it offers a fun care free experience. When the experienced players are present they try to lead their individual teams to victory making it a more competitive experience. This allows a little something for everyone. If you want to play to win, I would recommend playing in general sessions and more full sessions. If you want a care free session either sign up for a session that has no players in it or get a private session. This will help you get the desired out come. This field is home to some of the best players in the world so it has a track record of making legends. As of 2020 it is home to the #1 player in the world! read more
