    The Clue Escape room!
    Ellie B.

Had so much fun doing the Clue escape room. We had showed up without an appointment and nobody was there (our mistake) so we called and Richard showed up in no time to help us. I highly recommend this place! Shoutout Richard for all your help you've made our whole afternoon so amazing.

We broke out of Mystery mansion for 13th birthday celebration!

It was a fun-filled hour with son and friends for his birthday celebration! We arrived early on a Monday afternoon and the game master confirmed our waivers were completed in advance (they were). We took a bathroom break before starting (very clean) and received instructions before the 60 minute timer began. My son chose Mystery Mansion which is a little creepy and a few screams were elicited during our hour. This made it all the more memorable! One adult needs to be in the group if the kids are less than 14 years of age. Somehow, we made it out, despite our self doubts. Lily was a great game master and came through when we asked for clues. We will be back!

My friends and I showed up on Monday at 6pm because I told them to. We were told they didn't have a reservation for us and a bit of confusion ensued until I realized I booked it for Tuesday because the booking calendar is on Mon-Sun. They were super nice to accommodate us and moved us to a later time slot so we were still able to play that night. We played Mystery Mansion and Luke is absolutely great. He gently nudged us along on things that weren't the most obvious to us and was an overall great voice over the intercom. We panicked when we had 7 minutes left but he told me that if we worked together we'd have time to get out. We managed to speedrun the last few puzzles and get out. (Thankfully, because I told my friends failure wasn't an option) We had a blast and would definitely come back again. Thanks for being flexible with my scheduling error and thanks Luke for being great! :)

A friend and I planned a surprise date night. We originally scheduled for The Kidnapping at 5:30 P.M., but had to push our time back until 10pm due to an unforeseen event. When I called to reschedule, I spoke to Richard and he was very flexible and accommodating. There wasn't any issues rescheduling our time and we were still able to do the Breakout Room we wanted. When we arrived, they had a QR scan code to sign the waiver. It was a quick and seamless process. We waited a few minutes and we were greeted by Luke. Luke was absolutely great. He talked us through the process and we had a great time escaping The Kidnapping. The guys were pleased with their surprise outing and the night turned out perfectly. Looking for an escape room, check out Breakout Games Atlanta. You won't regret it!

Breakout is on the backside of a building. Once you find it, the staff is VERY friendly. We had a group of 6. We played the casino room. We had a fantastic time trying to get out, and escaped with about three minutes left. We needed a few hints though in order to get through it. After we broke out some of the staff told us that with a bigger group they recommend playing in the heist room. That way everyone has a chance to work on puzzles individually and then you can come together at the end. I will definitely be back to break out. Everything was very clean and organized and we had a great time.

My mom and I and a group of friends tried Breakout tonight-- first it is located in the back of an office building, plenty of parking. We did the Mystery Mansion-- we were an unorganized group of folks so our Game Master, Riley, was an angel guiding us through. The very first part of the room a gentleman came over the speaker and told us we only had to use the flashlight for one thing but that wasn't true and that gave us a hefty time penalty. But other than that one isolated incident it was just a ton of freaking fun. I can't say enough good things about Riley so if you're able to request a GM get her. Also the room isn't really locked so if you're expecting a phone call or you just have a small bladder you can excuse yourself from the room. We were mostly all escape room noobs so we walked away with solid ideas on how to attack the next one. And there will be a next one!

My wife and I brought our daughter here for her birthday since it was raining. Our daughter has participated in something like this but this was the first that either of us had visited this establishment. First of all it's not what I expected. The place is very compact and certainly interesting from the beginning. Since our original plans were canceled we decided to try two games... "Hostage & Kidnapped." The games last about an hour and they are certainly unique. I won't go into too many details because it will give away the element of surprise. At the end of the day we had a FANTASTIC time and my daughter is still talking about it. If you like mystery, problem solving all while racing against the clock then this place is for you. I most certainly will be going back to try the other games. Oh and our game master was Ang/Anj (not quite sure how to spell it) ... I'm guess short for Angie or Angela and she rocked! I can't go into detail but if you go, ask for Ang/Anj, you won't be disappointed. Oh yeah don't forget to tell em Dre sent ya! Be Easy! Drew P.S. Sorry you can't take pictures otherwise it ruins the game so I don't have pictures for you!

Located just north of Buckhead, in the back of a non-descript office building, so there is plenty of parking. We came with a group of friends on a Sunday afternoon and only saw a few other parties. They sell water and other beverages, no water fountain is available. First up was the "Operation: Casino" room and after we played a second room, "The Kidnapping". The staff was friendly, although I would not saw super knowledgeable for some of the questions we asked. Everyone had been to an escape room at least a few times, so we all knew pretty much the process, etc. The Casino room was really fun and mostly intuitive, we got out, and set a new time record! I would say it was fun and challenging at the same time. Next up was the kidnapping room, which started with everyone handcuffed to a bed, which was not exactly comfortable, there were marks on my arms the rest of the afternoon from the cuffs. The clues and process of this room was not exactly intuitive, we had to have 3 assists to get out and some of the items just were not logical, no way we would have realized what was necessary. The last step included a tape recorder, which ran low on batteries, the staff had to bring us new batteries, kind of ruined the moment when we were on the verge of getting out. Still was fun and we got out as well, just with a few hints.

Buckhead location. Plenty of parking in the back. Pay attention as it can be hard to spot from the street, especially at night. So me and my sister did the kidnapping escape room on 12-15-16. Originally there was supposed to be four of us, but ended up just being us two. The idea is to work together to find clues to escape from the room. You have 60 minutes to escape. You get 3 clues for help if you get stuck. We were so pumped and went it with game faces on not knowing what to expect. It was definitely fun and definitely got my adrenaline pumping! Very lifelike. I don't want to ruin it for anyone that plans on going so I won't leave much detail about the room. Although we didn't make it out in the allotted time, we needed about 5 more minutes but it was so fun. Your picture is taken once you leave the room and you can share it on social media. The staff was super nice and kept us laughing. They were watching and rooting for us the whole time. Pretty cool game for team building, date nights, birthdays, or family time. I'm very competitive so I'll be back with my crew. We will breakout!!

This was so much fun! I've done a few breakout rooms, but I really enjoyed the Museum Heist room. We (naturally) had a slow start, but the last 10 minutes we booked and able to escape with less than :30 seconds left! Our helper was very nice and gave great clues (even one extra!). Check this place out because it was great!

Wow!! This was my first time at such a venue. I was accompanied by my mom and little brother and we had an absolute blast! We participated in the haunted mansion escape room, and although we did not complete it within the hour we had such fun just attempting! We were assisted by the wonderful Megan and she was an amazing host and super helpful. She did not give too much away too much through the clues that she gave us when needed. We had so much fun in fact that we plan on trying a different room tomorrow! Thank you guys and thank you Megan!

Some of the rooms at Breakout Atlanta Buckhead: Casino Royale and Museum Heist.

Breakout Atlanta opened its second location ITP (inside the perimeter) in Buckhead in March 2016. My friends and I ("Team Bad Math") already completed all 4 rooms at the other location in Peachtree Corners: The Kidnapping, The Museum Heist, Island Escape, and Casino Royale. We came to this new location in Buckhead because it has one room Peachtree Corners doesn't: Hostage. We successfully escaped the Hostage room in 45:03 on April 5, 2016. We were a few minutes short of the record which is around 42 minutes. We set the record for Island Escape in Peachtree Corners with a time of 35:43 on February 24, 2016. Breakout Atlanta has become one of our favorite escape room companies in metro Atlanta. We wouldn't have continued to come back to play every room otherwise. To date, I've played 19 different escape room games in metro Atlanta and I would say Breakout and Mission: Escape are my top two favorites. If you're not familiar with escape games, here's how it works: You pay money to be locked in a room with other people. Your objective is to uncover and follow a trail of clues to escape the room. There's also the added pressure of working against the clock. Timers are typically set to 60 minutes. Each room has a different theme, premise, or story. It's like being in a movie. The story with Hostage goes like this: You and your friends are on a plane that gets hijacked. The cabin depressurizes and you lose consciousness. You wake up blindfolded and handcuffed to your friends inside the hijackers' headquarters. You have 60 minutes to unlock your handcuffs, uncover the details behind the hijacking, and escape. Sounds fun, right? We had a lot of fun with Hostage and all of Breakout's rooms in general. If you're trying to decide which room to do, here are my rankings and brief thoughts on the rooms (spoiler-free): 1. Hostage Hostage has been my favorite room so far. It's one of the more "cerebral" rooms where a lot of thinking is involved, especially towards the end. I really liked the hijacking scenario in this one. Lots of piecing together clues to do here. 2. The Kidnapping The beginning of The Kidnapping is like Hostage because you and your friends start off in the room blindfolded and handcuffed together. What I liked about this room is it puts you in a situation similar to the Saw movies. Escape before the crazy kidnapper returns! We escaped this room in 43:17. 3. Island Escape Island Escape is Breakout's easiest and most family-friendly room. It's great for escape room beginners. What I liked about this room compared to most other escape rooms is you're on a tropical "island" and you have to escape it on a boat before a volcano erupts. This room even comes complete with a boat and working volcano! 4. The Museum Heist You really have to put your thinking cap on for The Museum Heist. Art has been stolen from a museum and you must break into the perpetrator's home, retrieve stolen artwork, and return it to the museum before it opens. I thought the final pieces of the puzzle to this room were quite creative. We found the stolen art and returned it to the museum in 52:27. 5. Casino Royale Personally, I think this is the most difficult room at Breakout. It took our team 54:40 to discover clues left behind by a missing secret agent, track down the bad guys responsible for his disappearance, and escape the casino. I love James Bond, but I'm not a fan of casino and card games, which this room makes use of. That said, there were some ingenious puzzles and we still had fun. Note: At the time of writing this review, Hostage is exclusive to the Buckhead location and Island Escape is exclusive to the Peachtree Corners location. The Kidnapping, The Museum Heist, and Casino Royale are available at both locations. Island Escape will eventually open in Buckhead. It was under construction during our visit. As for differences between the Buckhead and Peachtree Corners locations, I think the Buckhead location is nicer. After completing Hostage, Jake, the owner, allowed us to check out the other rooms since we had already completed them. The rooms in Buckhead for The Kidnapping, The Museum Heist, and Casino Royale are slightly nicer and more spacious than their counterparts in Peachtree Corners. (Island Escape looks like it might be smaller though.) That said, those differences shouldn't affect your decision of which location to go to for the same room. Just go to the location that's most convenient for you. I will say one thing I found that was annoying at the Buckhead location was the soundproofing between the Hostage and Kidnapping rooms. While we were playing Hostage, we could hear the group next door in the Kidnapping room. It was distracting at times. We didn't experience this in Peachtree Corners. Breakout normally costs $27 per person per room, but we've always purchased Groupon deals for this business which is another big reason why we kept coming back. Many thanks to Jake and our game master, Thomas!

After playing The Heist, I noticed that escaping the first room simply involved pressing a button. Since I had seen that mechanic before, I tried the same thing in Prison Break, and it worked. My cell door opened immediately, so I had to pretend it was still locked. I think there should be a more immersive way to escape the cell than having a green "exit" button within arm's reach of a prison cell. Cosmic Crisis was my favorite room by far. It was interactive, futuristic, and included some really fun elements like shooting spaceships. I don't want to spoil anything, but it was a great experience. Overall, I've had positive experiences with both the rooms and the employees. However, after playing Cosmic Crisis, we were told that if we booked another game that night, we would receive 20% off and be upgraded to a private game. We booked Prison Break for a future date and time based on that offer. Five minutes before our game, we received a phone call informing us that a group of three strangers would be joining our supposedly private room. I explained the situation and reminded them that we had been promised a private game. (Knowing the premise of the Prison Break room, fewer players actually make the experience more enjoyable because the game starts with people separated into two small cells, and the space can feel too small.) The employee said he would "talk to us" about the situation when we got there. He also rushed us to arrive exactly on time, saying the game would start with or without us and that the other group would begin anyways if we were late. Despite that, everyone ended up waiting 15 minutes because the room wasn't ready yet. We were rushed for no reason and still had to play with strangers. At the end of the game, the employee with glasses and light brown hair asked to speak with us. Unfortunately, he didn't offer any real solution. He simply said we could have a private room next time! The problem is that we had already played all the rooms we were interested in, so that offer has little value. When a business makes a mistake, the solution shouldn't be to promise to get it documented correctly for a next time, it should address the inconvenience that already occurred. Despite this issue, I still enjoyed the escape rooms themselves and had positive interactions with the rest of the staff overall. My frustration comes specifically from what was supposed to be our last, best game here. Luckily the strangers were very nice and did not take away from our experience, very blessed.

We had Tanner as our live actor / guide through the experience. He was very immersive and passionate about the role. This was my first time doing a room with a live actor, so I don't have a point of comparison. I personally didn't like the way clues were given, but others may appreciate the banter and silly actions Tanner was doing to lead us in the right direction. I thought the addition of "crisis" moments was a clever way to reward strong players. My main issue with the room was that it was linear. At no point were two groups of people working on something simultaneously. That means that if you have more than three people, some members may be standing around. There was also one puzzle that is solved solely by trial-and-error, which is poor design. For the price, I had higher expectations in production value. The best part of The Grand Zeppelin was the ending, and I do want to commend Tanner for providing us with an immersive experience!

It served to be a great first time escape room experience for me, and a great date event for my girlfriend and I.

I had my son's 11th birthday party at this location and they had an amazing time! I booked the room…read morewith Kayden who was so awesome, patient, knowledgeable and worked with my budget. He was thorough and able to answer all of my questions during the booking process. When we arrived we were greeted by Casper who set up our party room and got the boys started with their escape room. He was so fun and silly with the boys so he made them excited to get "submerged". Very thorough instructions and very helpful with any questions the parents had. Although the boys did not escape they are very excited to come back soon! I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

    Beat The Bomb

Beat the Bomb is such a fun, interactive experience! I came with my boyfriend and we had no idea…read morewhat to expect - the structure of the game is that you play 4 mini games that last 10 minutes each. The better you do in these mini games, the more time you're awarded to "beat the bomb". After you go through your 4 games, you suit up into the hazmat looking suits, step into a room with all the paint, and you have as much time as you've accrued over your mini games to beat the bomb! If you don't beat the bomb, you'll definitely get splashed with the paint, but if you do beat the bomb, you get the option to get splashed or not (but why would you ever pass on getting splashed???) How I see it, the mini games are split into 2 categories - 2/4 games require more brain and memory, and 2/4 games are more active. They alternate them, thankfully! My only complaint is that the wristband scanners in one of the rooms (the audio/visual room on the left side) felt a little jank. We had to attempt to scan multiple times before it would read. Teams are minimum of 2, maximum of 6, so ideal for a date activity, a small group of friends, or a family! It was so fun to receive our photos and videos back! I'm glad that this is included in the base price, as usually getting any type of photo/video back is an upcharge. Would highly recommend this unique experience

Very fun experience but unfortunately the customer service was left to be desired…read more We showed up 20 minutes early for our reservation as instructed in the intro email, but we ended up waiting 1.75 hours for our spot in addition to the initial 20min. A heads up would have been really good bc we had plans after but had to cancel them. One of the rooms weren't working (our 2nd game) and one of the staff told me we would have to come out of the experience and wait another 30 minutes if we wanted to get it fixed bc there were other groups right behind us. That was a weird response and solution. Then a nice male staff member saw us waiting and said "oh that's silly, I'll hook yall up" and fixed it for us so we could continue. Shout out to him for just doing what was logical but also being nice about it. At the end of the experience, we waited 30m for our video to pop up and never got it. We ended up getting another groups video. The staff said to just email HQ. I emailed them and never heard back. So what should have been a 1hr event turned into a a cumulative 4+ hr event. The concept was great and I'm sure other groups have a great experience, but they were battin pretty low on the day we came through.
