For my extended stay while in Atlanta I had attempted to book a room here. However, it appeared to be totally booked, all except one game, which looked like it was geared more towards kids/family. It was also a shorter timed game, but at the same price as the other games. Come to find out that they were booked, almost solid, for a corporate event. Really kind of sucked, as it is the closest escape game in the downtown area. Located in the Hub, near to many hotels, great alternative thing to do. But nearly impossible to actually use because of the demand this place has. Anyway, we showed up on the last day. Around the middle of the day, when they kind of just opened. And still, corporate events had taken over the place. We had to settle on the 45-minute game. Paid, waiver signed, instructions given and we were inside the room. You area allowed clues here, however, there are so many things wrong in this particular room that you will get unsolicited clues throughout. Especially since a bunch of things are misleading, explained wrong, or just not in working order. We kept getting interrupted by the staffer telling us not to do that, or that what happened should have not happened already. I know, how could something happen that shouldn't happen. But this game needs maintenance done on it, or at least update the props because they look ragged. The thing that happened was that you needed to collect four items and place them on the designated spot. Once all area placed the door was to open. However, we only got two up there and the door popped open. That's when we were interrupted and told not to d that yet. I think, after that, the staffer felt bad for us because things went array. Things happening out of order can really throw you off your game, but you could still ultimately get to your end result. If you judge a book by it's cover and this particular game is the cover for this establishment. I would not come back here. Maybe if they updated the room, or if didn't let the whole place get bought out I'd have had a better time here. read more

Unfortunately, our experience with this escape room wasn't up to our expectations or the price we paid. We did The Launch escape room and faced multiple technical malfunctions that significantly affected our game. From wires that didn't provide the clue even when connected correctly to knobs that didn't do the same even when set to the correct numbers, the puzzle malfunctions cost us a lot of time until the gamekeeper came over the PA to give us hints only to realize we had solved the puzzles and were just spending so much of our time trying to figure out what we had done wrong. After the game, he told us that we had done well for a group of four because the room was designed to be completed by eight players, so if you have a smaller group, I guess don't expect to actually be able to escape in the allotted time. For an expensive activity, we were disappointed that things did not function properly which interfered with our experience. If a room relies heavily on technology, that technology needs to work reliably. read more

We've never done an escape room so we decided that these reviews were the best in Atlanta. We chose the Zeppelin room with 2 adults and 4 college kids. Mo was our actor in the room and he was great! He stayed in character the whole time and helped us a lot. I do love that you can use your character to request clues along the way. That's the only way we escaped the room with 2 minutes left on the clock. The puzzle was harder than it looked! Everyone was part of solving the room and we had a great time. read more

I'm docking you one star for not cluing the order on the poker hand puzzle. All you need to do is add a sign saying "Ladies first". and you know I'm right. your dude was apologetic about it because we're clearly not the first ones to run into that problem. we spun our wheels (pun intended) for like ten minutes trying to get it right so we could move on. read more

So fun!! This was the first time I've ever done an escape room, and I did it with my partner who's also a novice at these. We ended up doing the room called The Launch, which actually is supposed to have 8 roles (LMAO it was just the 2 of us). They were really flexible though, and we ended up going through all the roles' puzzles except 1, which I believe was the Technician because it was longer than the others. You have the option of doing a competitive mode with only 3 hints and a casual mode of unlimited hints. We wore our masks on the entire time and I believe they clean the rooms between games (as they got rid of a certain element due to the difficulty in cleaning, which didn't end up hindering the game). The person giving us hints was Emmanuel, I believe, and he was SO nice. (Thanks for putting up with our incompetence haha.) First, I was worried we wouldn't finish in time because we had an hour to do the puzzles, but Emmanuel added some time (I heard the 5 min countdown twice, and the 1 min countdown twice as well) which was super nice. I think it still would have been fun if we lost but it hits different when you get everything, you know? Even if it's a pseudo-victory. It makes you want to come back and leaves a good feeling after an intense hour. The puzzles themselves were super fun and I LOVE science fiction, so The Launch was perfect for me. The premise of it is that you have to escape Mars since there's a sandstorm and there's a list of tasks to do before launch. Don't want to spoil too much but it was definitely well thought-out and creative! The only reason why this isn't 5 stars is because some of the contraptions didn't work 100%, and we needed some hardware help from the workers because things weren't working the way theysupposed to. It wasn't a big deal, but you could tell how worn some parts were from wear and tear. It would have completed the experience if those parts worked! Finally, this place is located in the Hub at Peachtree Center, so you can grab a meal with friends before/afterwards! Thinking of coming back when they have new rooms (hopefully)! read more

We had fun at Time to Escape at Peachtree Center, but it wasn't without its hiccups. I'm glad there's another escape room option in Downtown Atlanta and I think it's great it's at Peachtree Center which has been making improvements to "The Hub" (the retail section with shops and restaurants) in the last few years. If you're looking for a fun activity to do, I recommend this place. At the time of writing this review, Time to Escape has two locations in town: this one and the original location in Brookhaven. The original opened in 2016 and this location opened in fall of last year (2018). There's also a location in Chattanooga. Currently, this location has three rooms: 1. The Grand Zeppelin (2-15 players) 2. The Launch (2-8 players) 3. Saving Christmas (1-8 players) Yeah, it's May and they still have the Christmas-themed room going (nothing wrong with that). From what I've read, the plans are to have four rooms total at this location. When we visited a week ago today, the business still looked very much under construction. The Grand Zeppelin room sets itself apart from most other escape rooms in Atlanta for a couple reasons: (1) It features a live actor. (2) It can fit 15 people. That's a lot. Maybe too much. I wouldn't mind coming back and trying that room. My friends and I are escape room enthusiasts. We've been doing escape rooms regularly since 2014. We had seven in our group for this trip to Time to Escape. Between the seven of us, we've done a total of exactly 200 escape rooms (I've done 59 myself), so we have a lot of experience under our belts. We've done three rooms at Time to Escape's Brookhaven location: Escape from Alcatraz, King Tut's Tomb, and Al Capone's Speakeasy 1929. Like the Zeppelin room here, the Speakeasy room in Brookhaven featured a live actor when we played it. Live actors almost always elevate an escape room experience. At this location, we took on The Launch. The premise is you're on a Mars base in the year 2039. A sandstorm is coming so you have 60 minutes to launch your spacecraft and head to Earth. If you don't launch in time, you get stranded. Between The Launch and the three rooms we did in Brookhaven, I have to say Dan (Daniel C, the owner) and his team do a great job with the room concepts and designs. Over the years, I've noticed the quality of escape room designs has gone up in Atlanta. Owners are investing more into their rooms and making them look better. The Launch had a nice planetary base and spacecraft look and feel to it with ambient lighting and music. I think I heard the soundtrack to the space opera video game series Mass Effect while we were trapped inside the room, but I could be wrong. There were control panels, robotics, computer displays, and more. In general, I think the set design at Time to Escape rooms is above average. As far as giving this experience three stars ("A-OK") instead of four ("Yay! I'm a fan.") or five (Woohoo! As good as it gets!"), it's because we ran into multiple technical difficulties with the room. Without spoiling anything, examples include some objects not sticking like they were supposed to and some lights on a panel that were not working as intended. We notified the staff about these problems and they told us they would add the issues to their maintenance list. Also, while we were in the room, the staff switched on us. At first, it was a man helping us out, then it was a woman. When the woman tried to help us (we asked for a clue), we had to catch her up on where we were. These things slowed us down. In the end, due to the issues described above plus our own inability to solve certain puzzles, we had to switch from "competitive" mode to "casual" mode. Yep, you can change difficulties. After 59 rooms, this was the first escape room business I've encountered to offer this option. When you're in competitive mode, you get the escape-room-standard three clues. When you're in casual mode, the staff can help you out as much as you want, almost to the point of basically walking you through the room and straight-up giving you answers to puzzles. When it was apparent we weren't going to win in competitive mode, we asked to switch to casual mode and were eventually given the launch code to beat the room. I noticed the staff also added a little bit of time (perhaps a couple minutes) to our countdown timer so we could finish the room. That was nice of him. Our group had an extended debriefing afterwards to discuss our thoughts on the room and what went wrong (both on our end and on the room's end). We talked about it for longer than we normally do. Part of it had to do with switching to casual mode and completing the room without solving every puzzle, which we've never done before. One person in our group asked that we nix Time to Escape from our potential escape rooms list, but I wouldn't go that far. We agreed that The Launch was a tight fit for the seven of us. Lilly was an amazing live character in the escape room (The Grand Zeppelin). what a fun room! they give instructions on the beginning and then the room is about 60 mins. i won't give anything else away but the staff is very nice and professional. it's always nice to have a live character and Lilly had an amazing accent as well, stayed in character the whole time! it's pricier on saturdays but not by a lot. there are several other rooms as well. this was our second time there! it's located downtown, street or garage parking. located in the "the HUB". go here! we loved it! read more

This was my first visit to an escape room and I'm looking forward to checking another one out soon! This is located in Peachtree Center "The Hub" next to Salata. It looks pretty small from the outside but they have several room environments so looks are deceiving! We took Marta but as with any visit to Peachtree Center you can find ample parking nearby in adjacent lots and decks. Our group of 6 were able to easily book day-of for a Saturday escape. We had a group of teenagers and 2 adults so we opted for the "Saving Christmas" option. Online booking was simple and it ended up being $22/person which wasn't too shabby! When we checked in we were asked to sign waivers (the adults) on an iPad and were whisked back to our room. A team member explained what we could/could not do, how to get "clues" and overall rules to play. We started with a Christmas book and then we were left to our own devices... The clues were unique and required different ways of thinking which we had fun figuring out. I had soooooo much fun here today! I played the launch and the grand zeppelin. The launch had A LOT to do. I would recommend a group for this game. Usually I play escape rooms alone or with my husband, but this is a game that you really benefit from extra people playing. The theme was fully integrated and the tech was creative. Jack was my favorite part. Anna did an incredible job of ring my game master and staying in character. I LOVED Grand Zeplin!!!! Evan was incredible. He was on top of everything, always staying in character. The room was beautiful and I love how we flew! The puzzles were fun and varied in style. There is something for everyone or every skill level to enjoy. I enjoy the characters you're given to portray with extra information only for you. It's a great game and I imagine perfect for all types of group events from birthdays to corporate team building to bachelorette parties to church meetups to family get togethers. I've done a dozen escape rooms across the US. This was my first one where there was a 'guide' in the room. I loved the concept! He acted as if he were a character in the setting of the room. Clues are given out based on the character that you are given to play. So, it's not just yelling out 'help' at a camera. We had a party of 6, there were at other people in the room with us. It's was non-linear, so we were able to work On different puzzles at the same time. The 'guide' helped to open lines of communication when the 14 strangers in the room failed to do so on our own. The clues seemed to be very easy in the beginning and got more complicated as we went along. I'd definitely recommend this escape room! read more

We had a lot of fun at Time to Escape! We did the Western room and it was hard, but we were able to make it out with only a few clues. The place was very professional and fun. I am an escape room enthusiast with some 300+ games played. I was in Atlanta on business and decided to play a bunch of escape rooms in my downtime. I played all of their rooms at both their Atlanta locations. I don't usually review escape rooms outside of escape room-specific review sites and forums, but I was told that if you write a review and namedrop an employee from here, they get a bonus. So I am namedropping Emily here and telling you she's fucking amazing and wonderful and should be paid double whatever she is being paid currently. My one regret is not adding her to Facebook before I left. (And I will namedrop Megan here too, but she's the general manager so I doubt she can give herself a bonus. But if she can, then Megan definitely took care of me at a level significantly above and beyond what most GMs ever do. As an enthusiast, many venue GMs tend to treat me a bit better than I suspect they treat the everyday consumer, but Megan took it to a whole other level.) My thoughts on the individual rooms are as such: In the top tier are The Grand Zeppelin and The Launch. These are wonderful, highly difficult games perfect for experienced players (or LARGE numbers of new players). Grand Zeppelin is where I got my experience with Emily -- and my adoration for this game is based in equal parts on the game itself and on how Emily ran it for me. These two games alone are individually worthy to grant them a five star review. In the second tier is Al Capone's Speakeasy. To me, the game seemed like it could be made or broken based on the quality of your game master NPC. That is, the puzzles seemed designed with the fact that you had an NPC in the room to help you out -- you would have an extremely difficult time figuring certain things out without help, and the game masters seem to have scripts on what exactly to say in certain parts of the game, as if they were actual NPCs in a video game. But I put it in the second tier because I had a very good game master here (a male whose name I forgot, unfortunately) and during my limited time spent at this venue I encountered only one person who I'd say wasn't a good game master (and I'd imagine this venue only uses their top talent for the in-game acting roles, so probably nothing to worry about there). In the third tier is King Tut's Tomb. If you have the option, play this fourth if you can, after the ones above it. It's not as strong an offering. I had a bunch of stuff typed out here but I deleted it because I realized that it would be spoiling things too much. Just... some of the puzzles and some of the information given in the room don't really work that well. In the fourth tier is Escape from Alcatraz. This one is borderline; I'd probably recommend avoiding it. This is the quintessential "gen 1" escape room, and in an industry that's moved well beyond "gen 1," it's a clear step back from their top tier games. Some of the puzzles near the end of the game are... questionable, and the puzzles before that point are particularly easy and simplistic. In the bottom tier is Saving Christmas. This should be demolished and a new game built in its place. If Escape from Alcatraz was "gen 1" then Saving Christmas is "gen 0.5" or worse. read more

This was my first time and escape room. I went with a group of six and the experience was AMAZING. We did "The Launch", it ended being the hardest of the three options there. We made it harder for yourself by choosing the complex version. Phil was an amazing guide and helped us throughout the way when we asked for clues. His jokes were funny and definitely made the experience worth it. It was thrilling and definitely an experience to do with friends.
