Amazing studio! Looking at all the artists online, they're all extremely talented. The studio is open for appointment only, which I really appreciate in these COVID times. It's also decorated pretty well. Jade caught my eye with her art and I have waited for her to open her books so I could get one from her. Although I would love a tattoo from everyone there. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I love how she brought my idea to life! The entire time she kept making sure I was comfortable and spent it talking about Disney and Harry Potter. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had, hands down! I went in for an appointment with Chelsea to get matching tattoos with my niece. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left it was great. It was clean, bright, and comfortable. As for my tattoo, It is slightly smaller than my hand and in color. It has been almost a week and healing is going perfectly. I love how it turned out (we both do!) and could not be more pleased. Justin Tauch, the owner and operator is an incredibly talented artist and his aesthetic and vision is embodied in his shop. This is an appointment only shop. If you've got an idea and a vision for the ink you want done, it's great. They don't do walk ins so you have to, or maybe get to, put some thought and planning into the piece and the results of that thought and planning process is clear in the results. I have gotten several tattoos from Justin in the past several years at different shops before he opened Breakwater and by far love the vibe of Breakwater the most. Not that all the other shops weren't great, but Breakwater has such a wonderful chill and relaxing vibe to it that I have not seen elsewhere. It's clear that he put his own spirit and passion into the studio and it shows that being in your own zen makes you even more of an amazing artist. The shop is also super clean and I love the very open layout they have set up. The shop is by request only which I personally like a lot. I feel like it helps cut down the distractions (for both the client and the artist) of random people coming in and out possibly wanting a tattoo. Now for Justin and his work. Having had tattoos from Justin from the time he started to now, it is incredible to see how much he has grown as and artist and person. I have loved every tattoo I have gotten from him in the past but my last one I got at Breakwater was just incredible and flawless. He really listens to what you want and he goes the extra mile with the details you might not even think about. For example my red panda he thought before I did to use flowers from the himalayans instead of using whatever kind of other flowers that were not native to their habitat. It was a very nice touch that I am not sure others would have thought about. During the whole process he is super easy to talk to and he's always cracking jokes. It makes the process so much more comfortable and relaxing to be a part of. Any time I am out and my tattoos are showing I get compliments left and right. He clearly loves what he does and it really shows. I have recommended Justin to so many people and will continue to do so because anyone would be proud to show his work for life. I attached two photos, one being my most recent piece(red panda) and the other of my two calf pieces both done by Justin. My pet memorial piece was also a huge highlight because he made it a more than perfect way to honor my best friend and he clearly knew how important it was to me and was willing to fix tiny details for me no problem. read more
