I had actually hired them to clean my air ducts and dryer vent but when I was talking to Fernando about my the other issues that I had with my furnace and AC unit for the past several years.....he was able to pinpoint the cause and fix it right away! I had previously spend a ridiculous amount of money in fixing and even replacing my furnace but the root cause was a simple cleaning of the coiling and a better grade filter! BEWARE!!! This company and this man Fernando Carrasco are a scam. Looks like he was scamming people doing HVAC work. Now he scams them doing cement work. I found this previous HVAC work through looking up Lucid Design and Development under the company's phone number 847-602-9411. He also does concrete work under Uribe Concrete & Epoxy. I hired the owner Fernando Carrasco and his partner Lupe Uribe for a concrete sidewalk in April 2025. I put a down payment down by check for $1,230 on a $4,100 job and they did no work at all and never came back. Months of texts and emails were not answered. Finally, when they were answered, there were just excuses. After getting the police involved, I was given half of the money back 9 months later. A detailed list of bogus charges was withheld, all while doing zero work at all. I got about half of my down payment back. Fernando and Lupe are liars, and very dishonest people and you should avoid their services, whether it's cement, HVAC, or just pure honesty. It is a shame he is allowed to run a company. As of April 2026, I still do not have the rest of my money back. BEWARE of these two men from Lucid Design and development, 4111 W. Alexander Blvd. Elmhurst, IL 60126 aka Uribe Concrete & Epoxy. (This was my original message....read below for the update) The quality of work is A+. So why the low rating? I bought a LivingSocial deal for $69 and the deal says: Air Duct Cleaning for Unlimited Vents, Main Line, and Dryer Vent, Plus a Furnace Inspection. Fernando insisted that "Air Duct Cleaning" was their name. I ended up paying over $350 for a whole house (unlimited) duct cleaning (air duct cleaning!!). Wasn't THAT the deal for $69?? Ask anyone, even $350 + $69 is an EXCELLENT deal for duct cleaning and I understand it's a lot of work. They were at our house for over 4 hours, BUT...clarify that on the voucher. I looked at the small print too...no mention of this. I wrote that message above before I tried to correct things through Living Social. Living Social said they said they charged me an "additional fee" because of the way my ducts were routed. So I told LS: Now I REALLY know they're not on the level. They NEVER mentioned anything about how the vents were routed. It's not like they're in spirals. The LivingSocial deal was $69. They charged me an additional $364 to do exactly what it said on the LivingSocial deal: Air Duct Cleaning for Unlimited Vents, Main Line, and Dryer Vent, Plus a Furnace Inspection Now, an "additional fee", for example, is what they charged me to CLEAN the furnace. That was $40. I understand that logic. My complaint is that the title of the deal is: Air Duct Cleaning for unlimited vents. They charged me $9.50/vent to clean then an additional $2/vent to sanitize. I may be $.50 off here on one of those estimates. How is that for " unlimited vents"? I could even see the $2 being an "additional fee". Not the $9.50/vent. I had over 27 vents in the house! I figured that would be incorporated in the "unlimited". Recently I moved into a new house and I figured it would be a good time to get my air ducts cleaned. I had looked in the basement and it did not seem like any cleaning had been done in a LONG time (If at all) I waited until the living social deal came up and purchased it. I had to make an appointment several weeks in advance. I assume this is because of the popularity of the deal on LS. When they showed up the first time, they realized that the vents in this house were a lot of work (Decent sized house, that is older 1500+sqft) After walking me through the entire vent system, and actually showing me down into some of my vents upstairs I realized they were more of a mess than I imagined. Fernando was very helpful in quoting me a GREAT price. At least half of what other companies would charge. (I did my research, and I also have a friend that works for Four Seasons) They were flexible if I couldn't afford the extra charges and really just treat you like a regular person, not some sort of company robot. They will give it to you straight up, and allow you to do the same. In this day and age, it's really imperative that you can trust who comes into your house to do work. I trusted what these guys said and they did not pressure me at all. They left the first day without doing any work to allow me to talk it over with my GF, and do further research. After doing both, I decided to call back and make an appointment. They were able to come right back in a few days and did a SUPERB job. They worked for 4 hours. I have 25 vents in this house, and they made sure that EACH and every one was taken care of. I couldn't be more happy with the work they did. I would totally recommend them again. Very nice and down to earth people. So why not 5 stars? Here are the negatives: I had to wait over a month to get my initial appointment. I understand that they were busy, but that's kinda crazy. On the day of my second appointment they wound up being late. I had an appointment set up from 12-2 on a Friday. Once it got to 2:45 I finally got a call from one of the other workers. They wound up not showing up till like 3:30pm. then sent a different worker than Fernando (who was at my house the first time and quoted me the great price) Thankfully the team that showed up did a great job and was very nice. When the second team was cleaning up, (it was freezing raining outside) they did not wear any shoe covers and got my tile floor pretty dirty (Not their fault it was slushy, but come on) They offered to clean it up without me saying anything, but this shouldn't be a problem in the first place. George's assistant also kept leaving my front door open when he was cleaning up even though it was A. cold outside and B. I have two cats that I told them cannot go outside. I ordered this living social deal! I was pleased with the service. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable. Since I am a new home owner it was nice for some to take the time to go over the mechanics and purposes of the furnace and humidifier. The previous owners did have two dogs, so we definitely wanted all the vents in the home cleaned and sanitized. This was an additional charge, but I felt was well worth it. As well as we paid extra for the furnace to have a tune up. I would recommend this company to any of my friends or family. They were at my house for over 3 hours. You cannot buy a living social Groupon deal and not expect to pay more out of pocket. I bought a groupon for $49. I wasn't sure what to expect for $49 - but I was NOT expecting to get this! Wow - I am so impressed! (and I am not easily impressed) We just moved into a new house that I know the previous occupants were pretty nasty and I swear everything they ever ate was deep fried. I was worried we might even find a piece of fried chicken left in one of the vents. I was prepared to have to pay a huge bill to clean up what was left of the family before us. I was so surprised with the actual cost. Fernando explained everything and answered all of our questions. And he was very clear on what the price for each item was. He gave us a tutorial on what all of the equipment is for and how it is used. There were no secrets or short cuts. And he really likes what he does. And that makes a huge difference in how well you do your job. They did an AMAZING job and my house actually smells better. No more fried chicken! I really can breathe better. My son has asthma and usually starts coughing as soon as he comes home from school - he hasn't coughed once and he has been home for 3 hours. I am truly impressed and very grateful. I was offered the vent cleaning solution from Breathe Clean. I told the lady that my main concern was my dryer vent which was clogged by moisture collecting on the lint and freezing during a cold snap. I have a long dryer vent that runs from the interior of the house to the outside wall (25 feet). Fernando and the guys came out, looked at the problem, and said that their original solution would not work for my situation. Fernando said they would buy additional equipment and schedule a second appointment. The guys came back for the second appointment with brand new routing equipment and high powered vacuums and made the vent as clean as a whistle. The workers were very conscientious and courteous and cleaned up all the lint they pulled from the vent. I recommend Breath Clean highly. read more

Once George and Francisco showed up to my home I was a little skeptical since I never have any luck with living social. George and Francisco instantly attacked this dirty house of horrors job that lied in front of them. George explained to me that due to the age and lack of entry points to my duct work in the basement that there would be additional steps and measures that would have to be taken in order to get the job done correctly. Of course I thought to myself what the f**k! But after George offered me a refund it kind of helped me to relax and look at the big picture. I purchased a deal through Living Social and I regret that I ever did. I scheduled several weeks in advance and the technician never showed up. I called the main number and received a call back from the owner. He apologized and offered additional services free of charge. We rescheduled for the following saturday in which he said he would personally come out and take care of me. The Saturday came and he never came! Used Living Social Coupon for a job. The team of 2 guys (Zurrile and Jessie) did a good job I thought , very polite and trying to explain everything to me. The team showed up an hour late then was scheduled, but they apologized and the roads were bad that morning. So its understandable. After work was done left the house in clean condition and actually were offering to do a touch up paining on some spots, which was nice of them. I purchased a Living Social voucher for vent cleaning services from Breathe Clean Solutions. It took me months to get in touch with them to schedule an appointment. They would only schedule the appointment for one time: the Friday evening that my voucher expired. Big red flag. When the two staff arrived, they immediately started in on a sales pitch trying to upsell additional services. I let them do their thing, but they made me very uncomfortable and were often arguing with one another about basics of their service. I do not believe they knew what they were doing. Example: they could not agree on the number of vents in my house. Seriously. After I politely declined a big sales pitch for $387 in additional services, they got not so pleasant with me. Part of the package they were trying to sell me include a furnace cleaning. My furnace was recently cleaned, which is something THEY noticed and acknowledged when they started the initial assessment. When I declined that service, they said I had no choice, and for them to do any work I would have to do purchase this entire additional package, including the furnace cleaning, because their company's policy is that all cleaning (vents, furnace) need to be on the same cycle. HUH? I declined their upsell package and requested that just the work outlined in the voucher be completed. They again refused, stating that is was company policy that they would need to do the additional services on my house. I did speak with Living Social who refunded the cost of my voucher. I also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint - this company is using false advertising to lure customers to purchase services they do not need. Another red flag? The company associates showed up in regular street clothes, a car without any company name or information and I'm not even sure they had the tools they would need to get the work done. I've been meaning to get my vents cleaned for a while but there was a bit of laziness and my busy schedule that made me put it off for quite some time. I saw the livingsocial coupon and did some research on various sites and Breathe Clean Solutions seemed like it would be a good choice. I'm glad I did. I had no problem scheduling an appointment and answering a few basic questions about my home. On the day of the appointment, the company called to let me know that they were running late due to the weather conditions. It snowed a bit today so that's no problem. They told me they'd be here around 1:30pm and they showed up right around then. Fernando and Brian came in and since they forgot to bring shoe covers they worked without their shoes. This was nice since it didn't even require me asking them to remove them. They were very professional and sat down with me and explained the expectations of the services I was to receive. The livingsocial coupon was very specific to the types of service it would provide, so I was expecting some possible addons. But, at no point did I feel there was any shadiness or bait and switch tactics being used. Fernando explained everything well and gave me very reasonable prices on some of the other services that they offered that were not included in the original coupon. He also took time to explain the basics of how the furnace works and what they were gonna do. As an added bonus, I was having some insulation problems with one of my return vents so I asked them to look at it. They took time out to check it out and gave me a solution that I could do myself. While it did cost more than simply the voucher I feel 100% comfortable in the fact that I got what I paid for and it was well worth the money. Francisco and his guys really took the time to "dumb it down" for me, explaining in details what they were doing. They gave me OPTIONS as to which service I could select, and I never felt pressured to spend unnecessarily. I would highly recommend this company. I admit I found the business by using a Living Social deal, but it was time my ducts were cleaned. I had used another company before and thought I knew what to expect, but it was only a fraction of what this company did to clean my duct work. When I called, Fernando was great explaining everything to me. There were some scheduling problems, they were running too late one day to come out at the scheduled time, and I understood and rescheduled for another day. However, I got the call they were on their way when I actually made the appointment for the following day. I had a lot of stuff going on that day so I had to make it work (which was frustrating). They need work on the scheduling aspect of their services. However, on the actual service, I believe they are very thorough. I should have guessed that everything was not covered by the coupon deal, but at the same time, I didn't really expect to spend several hundred dollars over the amount paid for the deal. I am not complaining about the service, they did a great job, there was a lot of dirt and dust to be cleaned up for sure, and it did take quite a while. I wouldn't complain about the amount of time it took, but since they weren't supposed to be there that day, I had to rush them out to make an appointment. My ducts had not been cleaned in 6 years; I have 2 dogs; and recently had mold. I had a Living Social Coupon. They came when scheduled, checked out the house, then sat down to give me options and suggestions. It was really like a mini-HVAC course (one is an instructor at a community college). I loved it. I chose some extra things given the condition of everything. They recommended different (still inexpensive) filters to do a better job. Overall it took the 2 gusy 5.5 hours of working very hard. They were happy to explain at any time. They found further mold and suggested a solution (basically at cost, free installation). As a former contractor, I know great service when I see it. We, too, purchased the living social deal after moving into an older home a year ago. I knew that things like duct cleaning hadn't occurred before. My husband purchased the LS deal and asked me to call. I called that day and left a voicemail. I never received a return call. It took me a couple weeks to call back, and explained that I had left a voicemail weeks ago, but had no response. The lady on the phone failed to apologize or acknowledge that no one had returned my call. Regardless, I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for the duct cleaning. The day of the scheduled appointment, they were supposed to be at my house at 8:30. I received a call at 9:00 from the owner apologizing and explaining that the workers needed to wait until a store was open to purchase supplies (why did they schedule it early if this was the case??), but would be there at 10. He offered me a free furnace cleaning as an apology. Alfonso and Jay showed up right on time for the new appointment time. Alfonso started by having me watch a video (on MY iPad? If this is part of the procedure, shouldn't they be provided with the equipment to show the video??) that explained how an duct cleaning should work. We walked around the house and counted vents and air returns, and they removed the cover of a large return to show me how gross it was. We went in the basement so that Alfonso could explain to me how the furnace and ducts, vents and returns work. I was definitely a rookie when it came to this kind of thing, and I appreciated being given the information. Alfonso explained that they would be looking at my vents to see whether they were clean enough to just be cleaned like the LS deal covered or if they would need to be routed and sanitized, etc. Well, big surprise, they needed to be routed, sanitized, blah, blah, blah. Now I looked in the vents. They were gross. I get that, however, I have to assume (and looking at the other experiences of other reviewers) that MOST people don't have insanely clean ducts that can just be easily vacuumed out, and many people probably don't have a heating system that fits the restraints of what the LS deal covered. As soon as they got there and started explaining things to me, I knew that the LS deal was a sales tool used to get into the house and show us gross things to make us spend more money. That annoyed me. As did the fact that they called Sears on speakerphone while I was there to get a quote, and then giggled at the answers that the guy gave and the quote that they gave me (which was supposedly 50% off) would have been more than Sears if they hadn't "discounted" it. I told them that the price they quoted was too high for what I was comfortable paying and they put me on speakerphone with the owner, who reminded me they were giving me the furnace cleaning, and then said that they were all about building their business and they would be willing to lower the price to $400 (plus the $69 I had already spent at LS), if I promised to give an honest review on YELP or Angie's List. They understand the importance of word of mouth and building the business. I get that, and can support it. I agreed to the new price and things went from there. The whole process is loud, dirty, and time consuming. The guys were at my house for longer than 4 hours. They were friendly, my 3 year old loved them, and my dog who is afraid of everyone hung out with them while they worked. They made sure to show me things as they went along and explained what they were doing. They asked to make sure it was okay to go in different parts of the house, and even paid attention to my 8 year old daughter's home made signs requesting that people knock at her door :) Alfonso and Jay were amazing - I'd gladly invite them back in the house to keep up the maintenance of the ducts and furnace. The four stars instead of five is because it annoys me when businesses use something like the living social deal to come in and inform you that you need to spend WAY more money. That being said, I did get a great deal and a great job was done. The other factor that made me lower the rating to 4 stars is that Alfonso and Jay promised over and over and over (and over) that they would clean all of the dust up that ended up outside of the vents while they were cleaning. This didn't happen. They cleaned up much of it, but the master bath, master bedroom, and my daughter's room all had a good amount of dust and larger pieces of debris on the ground after they left. To be fair, I had to leave before they were done and my husband went on the walk through with them, after it was supposedly clean. He said that he just told them it was fine because he wanted them out of the house as it was after 5:30 by this time. Regardless, I will be calling BCS again when it is time to clean the ducts again. They say that as long as we keep up with it every year, it will only be a $60-$70 charge each year when they come to clean them. read more

We recently had a lot of remodeling done on a new house, so were putting off cleaning the ducts until the dust (literally) settled. During that time, the LivingSocial deal popped up and we jumped on it. When booking the appointment, they were careful to point out what was and was not included in the deal (vacuum cleaning of unlimited registers and the supply trunk), and that additional services would be 50% off. Since this had most likely never been done, we anticipated needing the full sweep and sanitize. Jesse and Oliver arrived on time, explained their process and what our options were. We wound up doing the full sweep and sanitize, as expected, and added the return trunk. The work took about six hours, and they got a disturbing quantity of gunk out of our system (several pounds worth, I'd guess--enough to more than fill a 5-gallon bucket). All the vents that didn't work previously now do, and I'm hopeful that the house will now heat more evenly than it has been up to this point. It still wound up being fairly expensive, as we have a large house with 30 ducts, but we're pretty happy overall. read more

Absolutely terrible busyness! Couldn't figure out the problem with my furnace, pushed unnecessary services and expenses. Simple motor cage change turned into 2 week disaster. They even didn't bother to close the furnace properly and air was blowing from the gaps they left. I purchased a living social coupon and had Breathe Clean Solutions come to my house in June 2013. In the process of brining in all their equipment they scratched my newly refinished floors. The onsite project manager told me it would be best if they left and come back in a few weeks to let the floors cure. The floors were fine to walk on they just weren't carfeful with their tool boxes and fans. I rescheduled with them twice and they never came back to fix the floors or finish the job. I had an appointment scheduled today between 4-5 PM. A few days before the appointment, a female called to tell me they could no longer make it. Fernando called me back and said that she was mistaken and that he could make it at our original time between 4-5. At 5:25 pm, I called the office and left a voice mail asking where they were. I never received a call back. They finally arrived at 6:20 PM. When I asked them why they didn't call, Fernando looked perplexed and asked if Angela(?) called me. I said no. I said that he was supposed to be here at 4-5. He argued that he said between 4-6. He continued to argue with me with no apologizes. Let me explain my rating though. 1) Knowledgeable 2) Professional (NADCA member) 3) Friendly 4) Very affordable (They beat any price by 35%!!!) 5) Understandable (All speak perfect English and most are bi-lingual) Here's how it went: My wife found them on living social for $69. I was almost sure it's a scam, but she insisted and I gave it a try. I called and spoke with Andrea who was very courteous and knowledgeable for a customer service person in this industry. Hint: when you call don't give after a few tries-they have enormous amount of calls due to various coupons and specials they're running. So Andrea answered almost all of my questions and told me there's a Saturday opening, which I was happy with. I realized it's not a scam, but had more questions for the owner. I was promised to get a call and I did a day later. Fernando, the owner, was not only extremely knowledgeable about the whole process, but he was also able to explain it to me in a very clean and concise manner. I was very pleased with respect and professionalism shown in my conversation with the owner (which doesn't happen often these days). Needless to say that all of my questions were answered in their entirety and I was redirected back to Andrea to schedule an appointment. Guess what! She already did reserve a Saturday opening for me as a result of our first conversation! I was stunned! Saturday, November 8th. The guys were running late and I was about to get concerned. Called them up and Fernando explained they had a big job before and apologized. The two guys arrived about 30 min late (Mind that we live in Wilmette and they were driving from Wood Dale on Saturday evening). Jonathan explained that he spoke with Fernando and because they're late there was another crew dispatched to help them out and finish on time. I was impressed, to say the least! Meanwhile, Jonathan and his co-worker started the cleaning by bringing all the equipment out. Boy, that was a lot of equipment. The 2nd crew lead by Alfonso arrived in 15-20 min and joined the process. They brought even more equipment to the site and everything was in motion making me excited. The house isn't occupied yet, but the guys (total of 5) were careful and respectful to the property. Alfonso, who seemed to be a supervisor, was running around making sure everything gets done and nothing gets missed in a 2,200 sq ft house. He was also extremely knowledgeable an explained me every step of the way, which I was grateful for. He addressed my occasional questions in a professional yet friendly manner. His interaction with me and my wife during the cleaning process is what really impressed us about the cleaning job itself. Overall, I'm very happy with the price and service quality I received. Of course, no one is perfect, but how company handles the issues that inevitably come up in the process is true measurement of professionalism and caring about the customer. I normally don't believe in tipping for Something you already paid for, but in this case I couldn't resist it and tipped all 5 guys for a job well done. I definitely recommend these guys for your duct cleaning services! P.S. If you think $69 will get you a deep cleaning (which is what I got), don't be mistaken-it costs more. But you only need a deep cleaning if the duct system is in poor condition and wasn't cleaned for a long time (We bought our house in short sale). These guys are a scam. Bought a Living Social, they came in and tried to upsell for hundreds of dollars more, then insisted I write a Yelp review to give me a discount on their upsold services. Had to show them the posted review to get the discount. AND it turns out they did a lousy job - still had clumps of debris s blowing out of my air vents after they left. read more

Alfonzo, Jay, and Junior came to my condo and were very professional and competent in their knowledge of mechanical systems. He explained to me what he was going to do, as well as, how each step was going to work. Not only were they efficient, they were respectful of my space and cleaned up after themselves--leaving no mess. On top of their professional service, he walked me through my current furnace and advised me on proper maintenance and care -- informing me that I had an improper filter that wasn't allowing my system to regulate properly. While he went to home depot to pick up some tools for the job he went out of his way to also pick up the proper filter for me. They definitely exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier with the service. read more

I just bought a house and decided to get the vents cleaned. I bought a groupon for a cleaning. Jonathan and Hector arrived on time for my appt and were very friendly. No problems booking either. After looking at my vents they determined I needed a deep cleaning. It had been awhile since they were cleaned and they suggested with my allergies it would be the best course of action. The groupon was only for maintenance therefore I had to pay extra but they gave me a very good deal. I am very happy I did this. I feel like I can breathe better already. These guys were great. I hate to use four letter words, but this company is a SCAM!!!! I purchased a Living Social voucher and like several others on Yelp, the 2 workers showed up in plain clothes without business cards or even an invoice with a company logo on it. They proceeded to upsell which my husband was not going for - then they threatened to leave without honoring the voucher! My husband said fine do what you think you have to and gave them a credit card (which they only took after calling the owner Fernando, because he refused to write a check) to pay the additional $325.00. They did not clean all the vents, left my house a mess with vents screwed on incorrectly, left 2 broken vents as well as a very sharp razor/knife tool on the floor for my four year old daughter to find. Thank goodness she was smarter than the vent guy and gave it right to her dad to handle. I called Fernando after they left a follow up call to see how the service was and if they could improve. After speaking with Fernando he was utterly shocked that I would think this was a scam but they simply refused to do work that was advertised on the voucher unless we purchased services we did not need. We feel they use Living Social as a way to get in the door to steal from good people. We are smart enough to have a licensed bonded insured Furnace technician service our furnace, so we did not want or need them near the very expensive unit = we simply wanted the vents cleaned out!! I have learned a lesson from this - if the deal is too good to be true IT IS!!! Again, if this review can help one family I will be thankful. Had George & Francisco over to do the whole house cleaning from living social. These guys were SO great: they were sweet enough to be just like my family but were professionals at the same time. They kept things clean & were efficient. The explanation of what was done was clear & thorough. The guys were patient with us & even offered to help out with a few chores I was struggling with while they were here. (Didn't take them up on it but it was still sweet.) Would definitely have them back. The only recommendation I might have based on the other reviews & my personal experience with them is to be more clear about supply vents versus return vents & the like in regard to pricing & whether the customer wants the sanitation done, etc...That threw me off too but I was ok paying a little more than just the LS deal for a job well done. It also would have been nice to see the "gunk" they sucked out of my house (the "after" picture). Keep it up, guys!! read more
