After the breathing, the class went in for a cold plunge. Suffering from inflammation in my knee and after the class The feeling of lightness, ease and my knee was pain free, all from one session! The next day, a bike ride was scheduled and was pain free! Very excited to go back and see the process of resetting my body, with more active recovery, breathing, yoga, Cold Tub/Hot Tub and sauna. The staff was encouraging, and very helpful. Everyone was so nice! I guess when you work at a place and the culture is impacted by mental, physical and physiological health. All kinds of greatness happens! I'm not sure if they have showers? Living in the area. I left feeling refreshed and invigorated. I went home and got ready. The drop in can be a bit pricy, membership is the most cost effective with all that you get!! They do have retail!! Breathe T-shirts', sweatshirts. A purchase of an eye mask, they feel like pillows for your eyes. A must! You can either purchase or they provide for you! My next session is this week. When I first heard about this new studio I was intrigued with the idea of learning to control my breathing. I thought a breathing practice would help with my hot yoga practice as well as help me generally be able to control how I feel with my breathe. l have gotten everything I was looking for and so much more!! After my first experience I knew I needed more, so I signed up for a monthly membership and I've been going regularly ever since. Walking into the studio is like a combination of walking into a spa and your best friends house. I love the vibe and the people! The yoga class was a challenging workout but I felt very comfortable and able to follow along. Malin is an excellent guide. I loved her pace and the solid hands on instruction! The breathing classes are such a unique experience! You're strengthening the one muscle that can make you live longer, while feeling both completely relaxed and invigorated at the same time. I love the music and the feeling of being transported into limitless space. The COLD PLUNGE!! I almost don't want to say anything about it because you just have to experience it!! When I hit the water the first time I literally burst into tears! I felt like every anxiety I was holding onto released in a single second. Thankfully, I felt an instructor's hand touch my shoulder and say "it's ok" which gave me the courage to submerge my body in the water. Within a few seconds I was completely calm and feeling grateful. I love knowing I'm doing something healthy for my body, while I become mentally stronger! I also really love the feeling of community that you gain during the experience!! Finally, the infrared sauna -- I know there are so many benefits for your skin, your heart, pain relief, and so much more. But for me, it just feels great to sit in the heat and sweat. I gave Breathe Degrees a try after finding out one of the best yoga instructors on the planet (Brooke Welty) was teaching and managing this new facility. I was aware a lot of the college and pro football players I have trained with do cold tub therapy with the owner prior to opening his facility for enhanced workout recovery and provide benefits for various injuries and inflammation so I definitely wanted to give it a try. Ironically, I had started to work with a breathing coach just a few weeks before it opened until he relocated to Santa Cruz a few weeks after we started working together. These sessions combining breath, cold plunges, and the infrared sauna really started to make a difference in my workouts, sleep quality, and energy levels. The cold tub therapy was not easy at first but after about 4 plunges, I started to feel more comfortable with them and combined with breathing and infrared sauna I started to notice these benefits after only a few sessions. This place is absolutely amazing. Great facility; even better staff. Everyone there, staff and customers are extremely friendly. Despite becoming addicted to daily cold plunges in my pool (around 50 degrees), I was slightly nervous/uncertain about 39 degrees. They made it so comfortable. Upon arriving to Breathe Degrees I was greeted by smiling staff. The 75 minute Vinyasa Level 2/3 class with Wendi was Excellent. The flow was Fabulous with great music! Prior to class Wendi took me aside to teach me the Breathe technique which took place at the end prior to Savasana. The Yoga & guided Breathe work contributed to an overall physical and mental calmness at Savasana (Chillax). All of this prepared me for the 3 minute cold plunge which was an Amazing experience!!! It was a Meditative experience focused on your Breath. The 3 minute plunge left me with an Invigorated feeling and mental alertness!!! This was followed by a dip in the jacuzzi and back to a 1 minute cold plunge. Facility is clean and bright, and has an InfraRed Sauna area. My first time today and I will been back tomorrow. Have been doing the Wim Hof Method ( breath work and cold exposure) since October but now that is getting warm the water my the pool isn't cold enough anymore so I was looking for a place where I could do my cold plunges. Infrared Sauna, Yoga and Meditation , the other services they offer are a welcoming bonus. Grew up in Northern Europe so I am familiar with sauna culture. I'm fighting pancreatic cancer since May of 2020 and started my treatment journey with chemo . It almost killed me and I stopped and started researching alternative, less toxic treatments. Wim Hof Method, breath-work in conjunction with cold exposure and meditation , I believe are among the main reasons I'm still here and living a full life , happy , pain free life. Super friendly staff, very clean and nice touches like the phone chargers in the lockers are also 5 star. They have some great introductory rates and even the monthly price is reasonable compared to other places. If anything just try it and see how you feel. Let me start by saying that I NEVER do Yelp reviews but this place is so AMAZING that I feel compelled to give them a shout out! For the past several years, I have been suffering from severe anxiety and grief due to several losses in my family. My grief has also caused physical pain in certain parts of my body. I was talking with a friend about how bad I've been feeling and she recommended that I give Breathe Degrees a try. I am beyond thankful that I found this place!!! It has been an absolute game changer for me. The breath work class has done more for me than anything else I've tried. It completely got me out of the hamster wheel that goes on in my head and centered my mind, body and spirit. It has created an inner calm and peace that I haven't felt in a very long time. I was really hesitant about trying the cold plunge that first time because I truly hate to be cold! I ended up giving it a try and boy am I glad I did! I was amazed at how easily I was able to sink in to the experience and just be present with my breath. I stayed in for the whole three minutes but honestly felt like I could have stayed for longer. It is beyond invigorating and your entire body feels renewed afterward. The inflammation in my body feels like it is gone. There is nothing like this anywhere and the positive encouragement you get from the instructors is beyond. And the heat sauna after is the perfect ending!! Breathe Degrees is a transformative and unique experience!! My sister was introduced to the studio by a friend, and after raving about it, I decided to join her for a class. Turns out that I can't say enough amazing things about this studio! You will not be disappointed by the breathe and plunge class. You lay in a cozy room and go through deep breathing exercises for about 40 minutes, then you do a 3-minute cold plunge, hop in the jacuzzi after to warm up, and can cap it all off with the infrared sauna! I love this place! They have a great deal for your first week at $39 unlimited, which is a steal. I went on Saturday and Sunday and spent 2.5 hours there each time. We started with a warm yoga class, that was a great workout - challenging, and I do yoga 4 times a week! Then we did 30 minutes of breathwork - it was the type that cycles somewhat fast, and after the breath hold, we relaxed into Savasana and I was able to fully let go of my mind and truly relax. Then we changed into our swimsuits and got into the cold plunge as a group. I was glad we did it as a group, because I don't think I would have stayed in the 40 degree water for the full 3 minutes! It was easier with the support of others. Then we got into the hot tub - that speaks for itself after being immersed in 40 degree water! They suggested we get back in the cold plunge to spike our dopamine, but I was good, happy to be in the heat, so I ended with 15 min in the infrared sauna. I love the community aspect, and Breathe Degrees seems to attract like-minded people who are driven and focused on health and wellness. Everyone needs this in 2020! Once you move past the initial discomfort of breathing rapidly and intensely, it literally sends you into a state of euphoria that sets you up perfectly for the ice bath. Getting into the ice was challenging and the first minute is tough, but once you find your breath you can almost stay in for longer than 3 minutes. Went to breath degrees today, it was the best. I did the breathing and meditation class with the cold plunge at the end. I love how #1, they knew it was my birthday and acknowledged it throughout the session. The breathing/ meditation class was amazing. I forgot everything and was able to get clarity. The cold plunge wasn't that bad because the breathing/ meditation helped you prepare by putting you in the right mindset.
