I booked a salt cave session for myself and my friend to unwind after a busy few weeks. I had been to Sukhino before (float & salt cave sessions) but it has been over a year since my last visit & it was my friend's first time. Laura got us all checked in, we signed our waivers, & she gave us a tour of Sukhino. Everything was clean & oozed peace & mindfulness. The float rooms are nothing to bat an eye at - serene, tranquil, & private. The salt cave looks like a tree house & feels like you are stepping into an oasis. Needless to say we both loved our salt cave session. Afterwards we sat & had tea in the lounge area. On our way out we grabbed a couple of fun seltzer waters that were available for purchase by the entrance of the center. My next visit (which will be soon) will be to float! My friend purchase his next salt cave session before we left, so he has plans to go back as well. I highly recommend checking this place out! Kim, Laura, & the rest of the team are so nice & help you feel right at home!

Recently I came across an advertisement for float therapy at Serenus here in Bloomington. I'm a…read morevery skeptical person and let the manager and owner know. They both encouraged me to do some research and to try it before I made my final judgement. I did some follow up research and it turns out that the origins of float therapy have been around for about 40-50 years. I've had a lot of stress so far this year so I decided to just give it a try. There is actual scientific research that has been done on this therapy. I will let you do your own research in that area so you can make up your mind about the potential benefits of this therapy. The following is my account of my experience. I arrived and was warmly greeted by the manager(Derrick) and the owner(Joseph). They quickly got me checked in and then the manager gave me a quick tour of the facility. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and definitely puts off a relaxing vibe. Once my tour was over, he showed me to the room where I would be floating and gave me what I considered to be a very thorough orientation on what to do, how to do it, how everything worked, and even included a warning on how to wipe my hair at the end of the session and being careful on getting out(you'll be a little slippery afterwards-more on that later). Like I said, a very thorough orientation. After my orientation, he started the music, flipped the sign on the door to indicate that the room was occupied and left me to it. I locked the door to the very private room, reviewed my surroundings and then started on the routine that he had laid out for me. When I first set up my appointment I was worried that 60 minutes in this pod, alone with my thoughts, would be boring and I'd wind up ending early. I was definitely wrong. I wondered a couple of times during the session how long I had been in there. But before I knew it the light in the pod had kicked on and the music started back up indicating that my session was up. I remembered previous instructions to wipe my hair back after I was done to ensure I didn't get any salt in my eyes, carefully exited, and showered. Be careful when you exit. The salt makes you extremely slippery. The shower is right next to the pod though so you can quickly remedy this. The salt washes off easily with the bodywash and shampoos so no worries there. After my shower, I checked the clock on my phone because I was just sure that I hadn't been in that pod for a whole 60 minutes. But sure enough, I had. Wow. Just wow. Overall, my experience was very positive, from interacting with the owner via facebook beforehand, to checking in, the float, and relaxing after. The only thing that wasn't recommended to me that I honestly should have thought of myself was to bring a comb for afterwards. I left feeling relaxed but energized. I definitely recommend you do some research about floating and then try it out for yourself. The price tag can be a little bit of a sticker shock but there are ways to reduce your cost if you decide to do it regularly and I think they have a special for 1st time floaters. I can be a bit of tightwad but i enjoyed the experience enough to tell you that I will definitely be back, next time with a comb and a voice recorder. Advice: don't set to many expectations before your 1st float, just enjoy it for whatever it turns out to be for you. Thanks again to the owner and the manager for making this a great experience and encouraging me to give it a shot. I wrote a much more detailed review about my whole experience but it was apparently too long for yelp. If you'd like to read my full review, visit their page on facebook.

Music was so relaxing and peaceful. Madison was at the desk and she told me to help myself to some tea or water. She was very helpful and very informative so I really did appreciate that especially this being my first visit. She showed me to my room where I was to do the 45 min infrared sauna. She helped me with my Bluetooth connection. I was ready to go after a quick trip to the ladies room. The 45 min was exactly what I needed. It felt so good and so amazing to have that time to myself. I doxed off for a few.. I love that the sauna beeps very mildly to let you know there's 5 min left. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit most especially because it was a wonderful surprise that they had Easter eggs hidden and the sign said to find one so I did and it said my next appointment was free! I'll definitely be purchasing some more after that! I definitely recommend giving this a try. Self care is so important. The ambiance of the entire environment is very serene and calming. Definitely a nice little spot to get away from the chaos.

Because what a relaxing experience! I have discovered that one of my favorite ways to relax and reset is to sit in a dark cave, surrounded by tons of Himalayan salt. It's called halotherapy, if you want to be fancy, and it's also called "salt cave" if you want to be less fancy. A few years ago, when I visited a salt cave for my first time, I fell asleep during my session. Do you know how difficult it is for me to nap? Let alone nap in a salt cave?! I knew I had found something special after that session. This time, I did not fall asleep, but I luxuriated in that comfortable in-between twilight stage of being awake and being asleep. I probably could have fallen asleep, but I wanted to be awake to enjoy every second of my salt cave experience this time. There are two different salt caves. They don't mention the sizes of the caves on the website, so I'll mention it here! The Harmony Cave is located downstairs and is the biggest salt cave. This one can hold several people. The upstairs cave is the Tranquility Cave, and it is smaller, although I haven't seen it myself. Keep in mind that, unless you book a private session, if someone books at the same time that you do, you might be in a salt cave with other people that you don't know. That wasn't the case for me, though. The cave is so peaceful and dark! There are chairs with electromagnetic fields pulsating out of them, and blankets that you can use to be snuggly and ultra cozy. The chairs recline, so you can lie completely down or elevate yourself to whatever degree you're comfortable. Sessions are one hour, and that hour goes by very fast! The spa itself is impeccably cute. There's a gift shop as soon as you enter, with lots of things like salt stones, lip balm, candles, jewelry and many other things. The whole place is spotless and inviting, and the perfect place to visit when you want to relax.

You can choose a from relaxing in the salt cave or detoxing with a foot soak, and both are only $45 per session!! We made reservations for the foot soak about a week prior to the Sunday we chose with no issues. They were ready for us upon arrival, and the staff greeted us and was very thorough in explaining the soak process to us. I think there are 2 private rooms for the foot soaks, and there were maybe 5 chairs in the room we were in. They played some cute holiday music for us, but offered to let us use Bluetooth to hook onto their speaker and play our own personal playlist. Judgment free zone! The staff member was very patient with us and explained the whole process before beginning our soaks. The infrared lights were probably my favorite part. They were so warm and cozy. The little wands are adjustable so you can move them wherever you like around your face. I do have to mention that we were trying to lie back and get comfortable, and we struggled a bit as the chairs did not have head rests. I think the soak took about 20 or 30 minutes, and our necks started to get a little sore from the lack of support. If you scooch down far enough in the chair, you can rest your head on the back of the seat, but then your lower back starts to hurt. Apparently, another staff member was supposed to come in halfway during our soaks to add more hot water to our bowls, but she did not. We were fine though. Yes, more hot water would have been nice, but we lived. At the end of it, all, the water is disgusting regardless of the temperature. The girls will drain your bowl, check the contents, and explain to you the likely reasons for what is in there. So gross, but a very fun experience. We laughed the whole time. Apparently, pulling the toxins is not so much for detoxing as it is to help you understand what's going on inside your body. We received helpful feedback about dietary changes that could honestly benefit anyone. It was nice that the girls didn't act like sales people like some spas do when they try to get you to come back excessively and unnecessarily. They give it to you straight and explain how to use the tools they offer, they were also nice enough to offer us a tour of their whole facility so we could see the salt caves, but they had other customers and we didn't want to take up their time. For $45 though, we'll definitely be back to check out the salt caves. Oh, and the storefront has adorable little items to shop for ranging from healthcare items to jewelry to kitchen utensils. Super cute!
