Core Recovery is a Mental Health facility that has a proven success record with patients. You either go in as PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program, or five days a week) or IOP (Intensive Outpatient) which is 3 to 5 days. You also attend Creative Expression which is like art therapy. Every day is a different subject, you can use whatever medium you are comfortable with, and it is just a great way to spend time with peers painting or drawing. The program also encompasses Family, One-on-One counseling as well as medical. So, think of it as an all-in-one place to recover. They are experts in recovery from drugs and alcohol to any mental health illness. Group session focuses on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. You are taught so much from Mindfulness to relaxation techniques, coping skills, emotional regulation, distress tolerance. The list goes on and on. Every day is something different and in group you have all the opportunity to speak, participate and help your peers. My transformation from alcohol and mental illness was 180 degrees. The person who walked through those doors was not the same person that walked out. I feel like I can take on the world, am 100% sober with zero cravings and feel like I have such an understanding of human emotion that I could work in the field. Oh, wait, I did enroll back in college in Behavioral Sciences. I could not speak any higher of Core, the staff and the way they helped me.

And the turnover rate from the staff was why I never got to begin the trauma treatments. Never got to have my anxiety properly medicated and was misdiagnosed with bipolar etc. Was on over 8 medications that made me worse, and emded up losing my job because my fmla ran out and i atill needed help Now after me doing extensive research the last decade and after i left Core 12.31.2023, we find that all along the issue was AuDHD and high masking for 38 years of my life with zero support. Im now stuck with an extremely disregulated nervous system and live with a pacemaker and port for meds and am back on leave from work due to burnout and now trying to relearn how to exist in a world not designed for people like us. Tried to get my medical records but cant get ahold of anyone. I drove by the office and there was an eviction notice due to non payment... so save yourself the financial burden and misery of this place and their staff. Theyre mo.ey motivated and thats it. The resour is they provided were so sub par. And the CE, creative expression section was so not helpful until my neurodivergent brain started taking over the art class and started doing actual projects to stimulate healing etc.
