I am NOT one to leave a negative review, however, I feel it is warranted in this case. My hurricane tasted like rubbing alcohol. The catfish was not cleaned. The fish n chips was burnt. The food was ok. It was a boil so it was expected to be a bit overcooked. The shrimp and lobster tail were overcooked but not so bad that it was rubbery. The crab legs were not Alaskan King but they were very skimpy. They claimed 1/2 lb but that had to be in the knuckle because the claw measured about 2.5 inches. Puny. Shrimp were about 20 count and were cut and deveined. Corn was juicy but not as plump so we're probably added too soon. Potatoes were... well, perfect! Can't say anything bad about that. All in all it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as good as other boils I've had. It has to get credit that it is only a chain joint. I wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't disappointed. While visiting in Meridian, I opted to try a new restaurant instead of your average chain and it looked appetizing. Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly staff, which is always assuring. The menu had several offerings, but i opted to get the crawfish, fried rice, fried oysters and broccoli. The crawfish fried rice was good but was lacking soy sauce, the fried oysters were slightly greasy, and the broccoli was doused in butter and garlic. I guess we came at the wrong time. Passing through Meridian and needed to stop somewhere for a bite to eat. This was Saturday at noon, so we figured it would be a good time for any establishment. When we walked in, we saw several workers in the kitchen but they decided to finish their conversations and walked away from the doorway window so that they didn't have to seat us. After a few minutes, someone came out of the back and stated "Can I help you?" I was completely dumbfounded by the question. I felt like I was at the DMV instead of a restaurant with pretty good reviews. My wife and I laughed it off and said we'd like to be seated. The host/waitress took us to the far end of the restaurant and tossed the menus on the table and walked off. Unfortunately that was it. I wish I could leave a review on the food, but we never saw another staff member. Couldn't get a manager, waiter, cook, or anyone! Definitely a different place but worth a try. Went to lunch here albeit a late lunch about 1pm there were a few folks eating on the Friday I was there. The place is well maintained and clean. The hostess sat me immediately and my server came over and got my drink order. My server answered all my questions about the menu as I had plenty. I elected to go with Garlic Shrimp Noodle and Crab Cakes. Apparently you can get a smaller portion of the noodles. This might have been a better option as the bowl I got was a lot of food. I was able to finish it because momma didn't raise a quitter. Seriously the noodles were very good and HOT. I had to eat the crab cakes to allow the noodles to cool down. The crab cakes were good but made better by their in house spicy sauce. This stuff was good. My server said some folks order it by the gallon for home use. Overall great little find I would go back and try some other dishes. It will probably taste better tomorrow when the noodles and crawfish absorb the seasoning. 4.5 stars: Service - our server was nice, cordial and Efficient. The best place in Meridian for crab/shrimp/crawfish boils hands down! I don't know why this isn't one of the first places to be recommended in town. Our waitress, Isabella, was very sweet and knowledgeable. She led us in the right direction for ordering the snow crab garlic noodles (phenomenal) and how many lbs of blue crabs, crawfish, and shrimp. The seafood was steamed to perfection and the top shells of the blue crabs were removed for easy picking. I recommend the Beaux All In Seasoning, medium hot for your seafood. The boils are Louisiana style - with corn on the cobb and red skin potatoes. I highly recommend, they know how to do seafood RIGHT! read more

Used to be Our GO TO place for seafood. The prices are less than 1/2 the national seafood chains. We used to go 2-3 times a week for some of the best Cajun food around! However, this most recent trip, the service was horrible and slow. We ended up having to get a manager to process our bill and take a few things off that we never received. We waited and waited on cocktails and beer, but the server never came back. Another table next to us with 12 people had to do the same. What started off as an excellent place to eat went down hill fast! I went to their website to contact management, but there is no way to contact them except the local restaurant by phone. All of the food came out at the same time and we had no silverware or cocktail sauce for the oysters. We asked for both...the waitress proceeded to take orders at a table of 8. We again asked for silverware and five minutes later she returned with it. We didn't get a cracker for the crab legs so asked for that...she brought them as we were finishing our food! Highly recommend! We were just passing through for the night. All reviews said food was great but service was lacking. I was a little concerned at how empty it was but to be fair it was Labor Day Monday evening. I am so glad we did not let the reviews deter us, AND we did not experience poor service from anyone. The hostess was very friendly and our server JaCobe was great and super attentive, probably the best we had on our entire trip! His recommendations were spot on and the shrimp was THE best I have ever had! So flavorful! All of our food was EXCELLENT!! And the alcoholic beverages were very good as well. I spoke to the manager on the way out to share the reviews I had read and was happy to share with her we had a very good experience. Would certainly come back if ever in town again!
