They got karate lessons from David Vincent, went on fun field trips: Young Chef's Academy, Jazzercise studio, New Orleans Aquarium - and were transported in luxurious charter buses. The camp took place was at Jefferson United Methodist Church, which has ample space for all the campers and a beautiful playground for them to play on. The director, Ms. Sarah, had fun projects for the to work on lead by camp counselors. She received two camp t-shirts and we even to to attend a talent show put on by the group at the end of each week. She met new friends and made some unforgettable memories! The camp was so well-organized and the kids were entertained all day. They also encouraged the kids to be reading this summer by providing fun incentives. I did not have these fun summer camps to attend as a child, so I was so thrilled to get her into a variety of camps this summer. This was the first time she did Kids-Possible and she is already asking to do it again next year. Check their website: http://kid-possible.com/ for a schedule of their camps and get them involved! I am a huge advocate of keeping kids busy and active. Sitting, playing video games and watching TV all summer gets them nowhere! So, major hi-fives to the Kid-Possible team for all their hard work and hosting a fabulous camp! It was very affordable for a week-long. You even have the option of paying for the whole summer. The kids just bring their lunch and be ready to have a superb time!

Oh and our two girls (8 and 5 years old) attended summer camp here for two weeks. The Yelp event gave us a taste of all that they offer. Fun exercise classes, aerial silks, ninja warrior courses, a huge gym for gymnasts and whoever, etc. The building isn't brand new but seems to be on the newer side as it was fairly clean (for a gym) and seemed to be in good condition (per my limited knowledge and observations lol). The staff is very enthusiastic and helpful. I might add that they are super fit, but I guess you would expect that in a gym anyway. They seem to definitely live by the philosophy of being healthy and taking care of your body. But enough of that... My two daughters' reviews were closer to 4/5 stars, but that's more due to their expected "water days" being rained out with the unexpected summer tropical storm. I wouldn't necessarily say this is a camp where they'll learn a lot, but it does promote a healthy body and exercise being a necessary step to achieving that. My 5 year old claimed to be watching a lot of movies, but I took that with a grain of salt. She's 5 of course, so I'm not always sure if she's just exaggerating and I get that her class was younger aged and probably needed more rest time. And of course the no water days could have led to more movie time. No worries though as she certainly wasn't complaining. They also offer a Friday night kids' night out that we plan to try soon. My girls are excited for this and so am I as I hope to be a fly on the wall. That's because I wanna go back myself. My husband's party was a blast. We chose to pay for the Knockerball party, and can you say, "hilarious?!" And a bit painful. Kind of like a bubble-wrapped car wreck Overall so much fun for those who participated and for those who watched. My dad posted a video of 4 of us going at it for 4 minutes, and my cousin commented, "this has to be the best video on the internet right now." So long story short, definitely go here. Check it out. Support local. Plan a party here. Birthday, work team building, anything. If the party will include adults, pay extra for the Knockerballs. You won't regret it and will have some great memories. And soreness and possibly bruises, but those will fade faster than your hilarious memories. ;-)

Everything is disgusting, not just the pool. Any other gym's upkeep is 10x better. It's sad. And do not leave anything here!!!! Forget lost and found. The staff throws it in the trash, like all my swimmer's shampoo/conditioner/body wash, swimsuit, expensive shoes... Yeah, these people are something. Highly recommend you go anywhere but here. I've finally decided it's worth it to travel 30 minutes out of my way instead just to avoid going here.

GymFit buying and renovating Foxy's has been the best thing since sliced bread. Seriously. I've…read morebeen a Foxy's member for over 6 years now, and the running joke has been that they've done little if any maintenance to the building in years. Sure enough, GymFit takes over, and immediately improvements begin. Fresh coats of paint on the walls, locker rooms renovated and beautiful now, cleaner pools, and new amenities such as a sand volleyball court. Besides all these amazing improvements, here's what I've always loved about Foxy's/now GymFit. #1 The women's locker room. To me, it's built for a perfect spa day. My favorite trio: sauna, steam room, and hot tub. I love to do all 3 and just soak up the relaxation. There's also showers, lockers, and other standard locker room stuff. The classes! Centergy/Flow has always been my #1 go to favorite class. Taryn is a fabulous instructor, and the music always motivates me and has me singing. GymFit has added so many fun, new classess I can hardly keep up. Salsa, AcroYoga, specialty dance classes, etc. Definitely something for everyone! I typically go at night, and the check-in ladies have always been friendly and helpful. I've used the nursery, and my daughters have always enjoyed it. Overall, gym clientele have always been friendly, so I've made some great connections over the years. Way more I could brag about, but I'll instead encourage you to go check GymFit out yourself.

In the recent months, they re-did a lot of the interior and so many improvements were made. It's now a multi-functional gym that offers many of their original classes + have added the cirque, acrobatics, bootcamp and ninja warrior aspect of it. It's a pretty incredible place. They hosted kids summer camp over the summer (during COVID), while enforcing mask wearing, etc. My family & I have been part of GymFit, since their beginnings at their old location and that was already super fun, so now I am excited about 10x more fun with probably 10x more of the space they now have. The owners are always thinking of awesome ways to make the gym a better experience for all that walk through their doors. Their performance group, Bayou Cirque, puts on electrifying performances in their outdoor area from time to time. Their outdoor area has 2 pools (larger swimming pool and a kids wading pool) + a sand volleyball court. The inside also has large lap pool. It truly is a neat place! If you want to check it out, you must! You'll also see the GymFit team at various outdoor events around the city with their kids ninja warrior course. Thanks for all you've provided to the community, Gymfit!

This camp was an extremely organized, well-planned, fabulously executed and enjoyable for many of the kiddos that attended. Even I wanted to attend the camp, since there was nothing like this, when I was a kid. I am huge fan of early childhood enrichment and keeping kids active in the summer rather than being plopped in front of the TV or eyes glued on mobile devices. The first session was focused on string instruments. Since, my daughter is already taking viola lessons, she was able to bring her viola and was given additional instruction. Plus, at the end of the week, they put on a showcase for the parents, which was a preview of what they had learned for the week. Camp price was $200 for the week and that included t-shirt, snacks, lunch, water bottle, bag, field trip and activities galore! For the second session, they focused on woodwind and brass instruments. Same structure as the first session, but different instruments. It was so cool to see kids perform drum circle and play percussion, too! They have a program for kids available during the school year, too. So, if your child attended summer camp, they are already classified as "a student", so they get priority enrollment for the school year. She definitely wants to do the camp again next summer and has even expressed interest in being part of kids orchestra during the school year. My husband and I were super impressed at how much they were able to teach the kids in just 1-week! Phenomenal, I tell ya! Baton Rouge offers so much for children in terms of enrichment activities, please take advantage of them! Your kids will thank you and you will pat yourself on the back to know that you have opened up additional interests for your little ones. Make sure you check out their website for all the information about their year-round enrollment and summer camps for 2017!

We were…read moreat this daycare for 2.5 months and had the worst experience especially with the most prized possession, my son. Within 2 months: they allowed my son to be checked out without checking the adult picking up, he was bit 4 times by the same child who stayed at school for the rest of the day (we were told we should feel much worse for the parents of the biter) and they never reported what they did during the day. They promised our own logins to enter the building- that never happened. We were promised that we would get sent home a sheet everyday listing what they did- that happened when they felt like that. They informed at the very beginning that my son had to have a bowel movement everyday and we needed to know about it- they often forgot. The teachers were frequently off, subs were in the rooms all the time that we never even knew who they were or their names. The Director is an immature person who likes to talk about you to everyone in the building. The Associate Director, Amy, ignored us and when I brought it to the Directors attention, she told me that I misunderstood her. How do you misinterpret someone intentionally not speaking to you? We were asked to bring supplies for a party which were not used or returned. They had my son evaluated after my specific instruction to not. They gave out my personal information to an outside source. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE- STAY AWAY!
