However if it takes 2 hours for a flight to get to Ottawa from Chicago and the plane has been grounded in Chicago (meaning it never left there) then they've known for at least 2 hours that this delay was guaranteed. So 2 minutes before scheduled boarding they finally drop the news!? Ridiculous! Maybe I could have made new arrangements but at this point I have no options. Absolutely shameful. They still haven't updated the screens to reflect the new departure time! I'll never fly United again, and I'd encourage anyone reading this to do the same. They don't even care enough to update you about MASSIVE delays and that's unacceptable. I feel bad for the gate agents who now have to explain why they didn't bother telling anyone for hours that our plane is as good as canceled. I'm sure they just learned about this info same as us but someone we'll never see or know made the call to lie to their customers and workers until the last second, bringing the fury of an angry planes worth of people down upon 1 man who had nothing to do with it. Most of the time, the driver was even early. But, then there were a few bad times. Three to be exact. On three different occasions, they didn't show up at all, and I missed my doctor appointments. On two of the occasions, I was able to call once I realized they weren't coming and reschedule with my doctor, but when I called North Country Transportation to inquire about the ride, no one answered any of the times. I left voice mails on these days, including today, when they didn't show, and no one responded. I sent a text to the number, and on the days they didn't show up, no one responded. I waited and kept trying to contact them until there were only fifteen minutes to get to my appointment and then had to reschedule with my doctor and they still didn't show at all. They didn't even call me to say they weren't coming, and I have to believe after this happening a few times that they knew they weren't going to come. Because on most occasions when I had a ride set up with them, if I sent a text, someone replied pretty quickly. Or, if I left a voice mail, someone would text me back. But on all of the occasions where they didn't show, no one responded at all to either. The ride was set up to be one hour before the appointment. That's plenty of time, and it's pretty poor practice for a business to just not show up, and not respond to communications. It's not even like I was impolite or angry or anything when I left a message about it. I was polite and just inquiring whether someone was coming. No response. If you miss three doctor appointments in a year, a lot of doctors will stop seeing you, so I can't afford to take a chance on these guys anymore. I'm sure they don't care, but if they keep doing this to people, they probably won't be around for long.
