I've tried taking my shoes to downtown locations because they are closer to where I work and live but I was paying too much and I always had to wait over a week plus sometimes they did a rubbish job. This hidden gem has the best prices, great hours, beautiful service and they have saved my shoes. They have an unbelievable turn around time which means you'll get your shoes back in two days or so. My order was not ready on time and nobody even made any afford to inform me about any delay. I needed to waist my working hours again to pick up my order. However, when I pickup my order, I was very upset and disappointed because it was very poor workmanship with uneven surfaces, poorly fitted fixtures and visible glue traces allover. The lady who works at this shop could not understand why I was disappointed but tried to fix some of their visible discrepancies by glue again. Probably it was their regular service but I will never visit this service again.

Do not come here. I dropped off the boots and asked to see what type of bottoms they offered. Shop owner, who barely speaks a lick of English, seemed to laugh at me like I asked a dumb question - "well of course they'd be black". I was referring to the patterns of course! After communicating (with some difficulty) what I was seeking, he took a pen and drew 4 X's on the bottom of my shoes. I cringed a little because these were brand new but thought it was normal procedure for them. After all, these were the black bottoms of the shoes and nobody would see the marks anyway. Then it was time for me to pick up my boots. I did not have my ticket on me which admittedly was my fault, however I did have my payment receipt with the credit card number, date and time on it. Further, I felt that my phone number or a description of the shoes and size would suffice. I was willing to cooperate or provide whatever information they needed. They do not have a bell to get anyone's attention so I was left standing there for a few minutes before someone came to help me. As soon as I stated I had no ticket the staff (another man) got angry and told me I couldn't pick up my shoes. Fine. My mistake. Asked if there were alternatives as it was the end of a long work day for me and I did come by to pick my shoes up on the way home. He grunted "not my problem, you can call the police". Also told me to speak with the owner, i.e. return the next day. The man proceeded to tell me about the time the shop lost $500 because they apparently let someone pick up shoes without a ticket. It would be silly to follow his advice and call the police. I understand that as per their store policy I could not pick up without my ticket. That's entirely within reason. I am also sorry that the business went through such a loss in the past - but I will NOT tolerate rude behaviour. If the man alleged he had been here for 45 years, it scares me to think how many people (and evidently several according to other reviews) he has poorly treated in the past. When I returned the following day (today) I voiced my concern to the owner over how rude and disrespectful the staff was. Again, I struggled to understand the owner but I do know that he did not once apologize for my negative experience. He also referenced the $500 story but frankly, I said I was here to pick up my shoes and not argue further. I'm not entirely satisfied with the craftsmanship either, to be honest. My shoebox also managed to come back with a black scratch on the top and a few punctured holes as if they worked on top of it. It is my mistake for not doing my research before trusting this shop with my beautiful and expensive boots, but now I am writing this to warn others to stay away from this place. I called him to tell him that, it was wrong He said he will give me the money back if I go to his store and pick it up. I said no, He should explain it to people when giving the change, I don't have time. Instead of apologizing, he started yelling at me and screaming through the phone. They were in rough shape( my own fault, should have brought them in sooner) Hugo was extremely excited when he saw my Italian made, dark brown , leather shoes. The heels were very worn out and beginning to almost crumble . The outer leather was beginning to separate from the sole on one shoe. Hugo said he would order in a leather patch for this part of the project. I brought the shoes in on June 19,2023 - they were ready yesterday, June 29. Total cost with tax $68.25. The shoes have been fully restored to their original condition. Hugo can seem a little rough in his manner ( he's not 21 years old!) but he sure appreciates the chance to work on quality shoes . The shop is in an older building ,looks like a typical shoe repair shop , with the smells of leather and shoe polish greeting you as you enter. Pictures of Columbia adorn the walls.
