One of the BEST açaí bowl on the island! I love that there's no sugar added and vegan!!! This truck is run by two awesome women. Great customer service and delicious açaí bowl! I only have 10 days on the island, so I only get to taste this goodness once. They are at the Wailea Farmers Market Tuesday only. If you get a chance, stop by and support local businesses!
Why 4 stars? Because acai and a friendly business owner is a great combination. --- --- --- I was definitely not going to come to Hawaii without enjoying a surplus of acai bowls, and Brekkie Bowls had some of the highest Yelp ratings in all of Maui. On our drive from Kaanapali to Wailea, we hit up Brekkie Bowls. First of all, a heads up - if you don't know where you're going, it's not the easiest place to find. Once you pull into a very large shopping center parking lot, just head straight back, far away from the road. On Apple Maps, it's pretty accurately placed, so I'd recommend following that rather than just trying to guess. There are about 20 different ways you can turn, and we guessed wrong a few times before we figured it out. The reason that Brekkie Bowls has really great reviews is obvious - the owner is super friendly to everyone. She definitely has the ability to make every customer feel like a long, lost friend. We chatted her up about what we'd done so far in Maui and what we had planned for the rest of the trip. She was great and the acai bowls were solid! Definitely a good option when you're in the area and craving a giant bowl of deliciousness :)
Such a cute food truck and the workers there were so nice!! Definitely recommend getting there early because they always have A line. So fun for it to be at the farmers market too such a cool experience. The Acai was expensive but super yummy and great toppings and presentation
Escape the resorts and find a super sweet semi -food truck. Had an açaí and a dragon fruit bowl which were made with love. Really kind people with a vision in mind for their business.
Severely disappointed by both the food and the service here. The woman taking out orders was condescending-- calling my friends and myself "sweetie" and laughing when we said we were teachers on Oahu. It was clear she was judging us. We asked if there was a bowl she recommended (because they have many different options) and she laughed and said "honey everything is custom." When I asked if they had a bathroom she said "well yes and no" apparently because there was a workout class going on in the CrossFit gym, I couldn't use the bathroom. Now, the bad part: I was trying to get a scoop from my bowl and because the peanut butter was so thick I splashed myself with açaí and some of the fruit when flying to the ground. My friend went to ask if they had napkins and they said no, they're trying to reduce waste. Listen- I'm all for going green, but if you serve food you should have napkins. Then the woman came out of the hut and bent down to pick up the fruit off the ground and said "I feel like I'm cleaning up after a child!" I was SHOCKED that she would say something so rude. It was clearly an accident and I was covered in splashes of açaí staining my shirt and shorts. At that point, I walked away because I was done dealing with her. The bowls were decent. They don't use sugar so they are sour. I've had better. I'm shocked this is the second ranked place on Maui. I would NOT recommend.
We came based on a recommendation and were not disappointed. I love that the owner intentionally didn't put the food truck in a touristy area; it really is a hidden gem. Not only was everything delicious and fresh but it was also presented beautifully. I only grabbed a quick pic because I was eager to dive in. The cold brew was also fantastic. We enjoyed chatting with the owner too! Very personable.
Adorable Business! All fresh ingredients, made to order. We stopped by here on Tuesday, after Labor Day & there was a whole farmers market going on at the Wailea shopping center where brekkie bowls was set up. So nice to walk around and enjoy our bowls!
Such a delicious and healthy spot for breakfast. The fruit was so juicy and delicious. The bowls are also gorgeous. Great service as well!
Our Brekkie Bowls were fantastic. We had a little difficulty finding the truck but if you check the actual website the location will be there. It was for sure worth the extra drive though. Yum!

Came around 9 am and it took around 15 minutes to get my small superfood bowl with an acai base. They also accidentally gave me the wrong base at first. The base itself wasn't sweet but the toppings + honey made up for it. It was also only $12 for a small, which compared to other prices in the area is quite reasonable. It was quite a bit of food, a large would have been too big for me. It is a small cart surrounded with small shops that are cute and local. I would definitely come here again but wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

Allergy friendly and accommodating. Recommend the halfsies option. The base bowl is sufficient, not a significant difference for the superfood as portion was small for chia pudding. Great food for the farmer's market! read more

Cute little food truck outside of a crossfit gym. Kind of tucked back in a parking lot. If you navigate to the crossfit gym it'll be easier to find. Excellent service! The owner is super chill and very friendly. She chatted with us while getting our order ready, a really genuine person. The Acai bowls were delicious. They were a good portion, super refreshing. The flavor of the acai and the granola was great. You get your choice of 2 fruits to go on top. She also serves local kombucha and cold brew coffee that were super tasty. Definetely glad I stumbled on this place! One of the better acai bowls I've ever had! I would definitely recommend stopping by this spot if you're ever in Kihei! read more
I came here on a whim. Decided to get a bowl while out for a walk. The lady kept asking me what I'd like and what she would recommend. To be honest I have no idea what I ordered. I just kept saying "Sure! Surprise me!" And that's what I got. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a yummy breakfast. read more

Every food truck tells a story. Here is how I see theirs. They are in an obscure location, with only word of mouth and the internet to reveal their presence. Translation: hoards of tourists need not come visit. They are next to a fitness center. Translation: they are looking at body health on a lot of levels. With organic foods, exercise, and a holistic approach to fitness. The beautiful thing about their ingredients is that there were no poor choices. I chose their Superfood City Bowl. I mixed acai and pitaya. I had pineapple and strawberry as other fruits. It came with chia pudding, matcha, and a variety of seeds. A beautifully balanced breakfast. The food had a pleasurable cool temperature, and there was balance between the sweetness, and the tartness. Crunch from the seeds. When I was done, I retreated to a quiet place. After listening intently, I heard the cells in my body whisper: "Ahhhh. Thank you. That was just what we needed." read more
My husband and I stopped in here after finding them on Yelp! As other reviewers mention, they are a bit difficult to find. The truck is cute, and we both ordered the large acai bowls. The ratio of fruit to acai is like 20/80. We are from NC and we have an acai bowl spot at home that we love, so we had high expectations. Probably a preference thing, but we prefer more fruit and less acai. Also, this may be standard in HI, but the acai was a runny, soupy consistency (much runnier than a smoothie even). At home our acai is much thicker so that's what we are accustomed to and prefer. Overall the bowls were good, fresh, and filling. Not the best acai bowl I've ever had but it was tasty! read more

Brekkie Bowls was one of my favorite spots on Maui, and not only because it was the most delicious acai/pitaya bowl we've ever had! The owner Hollie is so incredibly friendly, kind, and sweet. She genuinely exhibits warmth and the aloha spirit and it was such a pleasure to talk with her and meet her. She shared with us about her philosophy on health & fitness (the bowls she offers with good-for-you ingredients reflect that), living on Maui, and her expansion plans. We had the superfood city bowl and it was so delicious -- fresh fruit, organic matcha, chia pudding, and acai/pitaya that wasn't too sweet (which we love), with granola, bee pollen, and coconut. I loved that everything is all organic -- everything from the fruit to the granola, and even organic almond butter (a $1 add-on). It's very clear that Hollie takes great care and pride in ensuring that her customers get to enjoy healthy and delicious acai/pitaya bowls along with great service. I'm so glad that we discovered her cute food truck due to these great Yelp reviews. I'm only sad that we found Brekkie Bowls for the first time on our last full day on Maui and weren't able to return before leaving, but this will definitely be one of our very first stops on our next trip to Maui! It was my last day in Maui and this was my final stop for an açaí bowl! This place was kinda hard to find, but once we saw the signs that pointed to this truck it wasn't too bad. It's right next to the CrossFit though, it that makes things easier! The menu is small and simple so we opted for the build your own açaí bowl! They ran out of pitaya that day though :( so we got an açaí bowl with strawberries and bananas. The bowl was really good and refreshing.. the morning was hot af! The açaí was a little too icy though, but the fruits were fresh and the granola was amazing - might've been the best granola on all my acai bowls this trip! Overall this place was good! I would come back and try the pitaya when they have it! And the superfood city bowl seems interesting too! read more

First time having one of these and it was delicious. The consistency and the taste of the açaí and dragon fruit was light and not sweet which I enjoyed. Hollie was awesome and had such a cool story that she shared with us about her ventures moving to Hawaii! Would come again for breakfast, possibly on the way to the airport! read more

This place is adorable. Fun fact: it's a stand. It is not in a building! If I knew that, it would have been easier to find. First of all, the service was incredible. The lady that served us was very nice and inquisitive about our trip. She even gave us good poke recommendations. For food, I got an Açaí bowl with pineapples, bananas, peanut butter & protein powder. The peanut butter and pineapple combo was really good! I highly recommend it. I also decided to try the Kombucha. It was hibiscus and ginger flavored. I'm not a big fan of kombucha, but I loved this one! Be careful though; the top on the cup they put it in comes off very easily. I almost spilled mine. Overall, great açaí bowl place! Try to stop by for a local treat if you're in town on vacation. read more

Highly recommend these bowls! This açaí bowl place is conveniently located outside of a CrossFit gym on the Island of Maui. The customer service was great and the bowls are made promptly. They are perfect for breakfast and are a great way to start an adventurous day on the Island! There are a variety of bowls and customizations that are sure to suit anyone. I would highly recommend this place as a a nice refreshing small meal. read more

This little place is amazing! I love anything açaí or pitaya. I wanted a healthy alternative for brunch and I've never had the matcha portion in a pitaya bowl before. I always make chia pudding, but I've hadn't combined the two. This was perfect and made with fresh ingredients. The place in general was sort of hard to find, especially if you haven't been here before. We drove around 3 times before we found it. It's a little cute trailer in front of CrossFit. They only offer bowls or smoothies but worth it! read more

Fresh acai bowl and super friendly food truck owner. My bowl had a lot more granola than what I'd like, but that's more of a personal preference. Location was a little hard to find. GPS took us to the street right before where the truck was located, but there was a sign directing you to go to the next one. Recommendations: Perhaps putting in the Makena Crossfit address would be better in finding the truck, as the truck is parked right next to it. read more

At first, it was a little difficult to find, look for the CrossFit gym, its a small food cart right outside the gym! While you wait for your bowls, stare at the people working out, it'll really work up your appetite! I love their acai bowls because it has the prefect combination of acai base, loaded with granola, toasted coconut, bee pollen, agave nectar, and two types of fruit you can choose from! The base is also perfect consistency, thick enough to scoop! I also added chia seeds to mine because I just love having those suckers stuck between my teeth! Add-ons include chia, hemp, maca and protein powder, for $1 extra a pop. I really wish I would have ordered a Pitaya base, but its really another word for dragonfruit and I've never had them in a bowl before. They also have green smoothies. Get the large, you won't regret it, its perfect for breakfast! My husband and I each ate a large and it fueled us for a whole morning of snorkeling. read more

Looks delicious but dull in flavor. The Açaí was runny. The fruit was fresh and the portion is large but expensive at $11. You get a dollar off if you check-in on Yelp. I asked for a sample of the dragon fruit but instead I got a description of flavor. read more

Another nomination for best bowl on Maui? Yep. We split a pitaya bowl with pineapple and kiwi. It was delightful, and the bites of sweet, juicy pineapple were among the best we had on the island. Since we loved it so much, we ordered a second bowl (açai-pitaya combo) with cacao nibs added. Not sure if (when?) we'll be back on Maui, but hoping we can say aloha to Brekkie Bowls again! read more

Hot tip: this stand is located outside Makena CrossFit, the row of buildings behind The Maui Gym These açaí bowls here are incredible!! Large bowls are $10 and small bowls are $8 (large bowls are about twice the size so it's totally worth the extra $2). You can choose two fruits to put on top and she arranges them beautifully so your açaí bowl doubles as a work of art. Make sure to stop here early in your trip because you'll probably end up wanting to come back multiple times! read more
