Cute spot with a nice owner! The outside is a bit hidden as there is no signage besides directly on the window. Small with 3 tables and a limited menu. The bulgogi bibimbap was really good albeit a bit expensive (costed $60 in total after TT for bibimbap and kimchi fried rice). Perfect amount of everything after a ~6 hr flight. This place is such a hidden gem. Cute and clean inside. I saw other reviews saying this place is run by a husband and wife team, so I'm assuming they were the ones working when we went there. I had the bulgogi bibimbap, which was so flavorful and full of fresh veggies. The kimchi and sauce was also really good. We were craving some good Korean food and decided to hit this hidden gem in a rundown strip mall in Kihei based off word of mouth, reviews and pictures. The images did not do the food justice. The portions were large and the plates were a work of art. They are so beautiful, I almost thought by mixing up my spicy pork bibimbap. My girlfriend got the kimchi pancake, which she loved. My wife and I stopped in here for lunch on my birthday. I've not yet had the chance to try this local restaurant and thought why not today? This restaurant is located in the Lipoa shopping center which also contains the gas station/car wash...laundromat...and gym. There's not a sign but you will see their glass door has a sign. We were the only people there at 11:10 am. Staff were curteous and inviting. We weren't sure what to get so we asked what was good. We both tried the bulgogi bibimbap at the recommendation of the cashier. We ordered two bottles of chilled Coke. They have several selections of chilled drinks. They provide cups with ice too if you want to share. This dish took maybe 15 minutes to prepare. I had never had it before. It's a bowl of rice topped with bulgogi beef (very thinly sliced marinated beef), an egg (we did over easy on one and sunny side up on another), lettuce, carrot, mushroom, red cabbage (I believe pickled?) and a few other things which I wasn't sure what they were. Sesame seeds too. It's a nice refreshing blend of savory and fresh veggies. A lot of food! I believe one of these will run you around 23 or 24 dollars but you could probably serve two people with one. We had leftovers. It will absolutely fill you up. For two people with 2 drinks (Cokes) we spent around $60+ so it's definitely not what I'd say is "cheap" but it is a lot of food and delicious freshly prepared food so there is value for sure. Y'all, let me tell you about this little Korean place called Cafe Moon. It's got more vegetables than my mama ever tried to sneak into our dinner growin' up, but honey, this place is somethin' else. I walked in there and bless their hearts, they were friendlier than a golden retriever at a tennis ball factory. The place was clean too. Not like "I wiped it down real quick before you got here" clean, but like "my mother-in-law's coming over" clean. I laughed at the many bottles of cleaning spray in their bins. Someone here is OCD for sure. So I ordered this bibimbap thing - which is just a fancy word for a big ol' bowl of beef and Korean vegetables over rice. Lord have mercy, when they brought it out I thought they'd made a mistake. There was enough Korean thinly sliced BBQ beef in there to feed me and my boyfriend. Now I'm gonna take off one star, and it ain't their fault, but good gracious it was a little pricey $26 for bein' in a Kihei neighborhood where you might wanna keep your purse close. Our first time trying this spot and it did not disappoint. The food here is SO good!!! We got the Meat Jun, Kimbap, and the Bulgogi Bibimbap. Everything tasted 10/10. He offered a different pickle made of radish and onions since traditional kimchi is not always vegetarian friendly. We loved the pickle and he was generous to offer multiple refills of the pickle. My 9 year old can sometimes be a picky eater and he gulped down all his food!! A must visit if you want are craving Asian food and are a vegetarian. Portions are huge! There's a few tables inside where you can dine in. We popped in for a late lunch and by the time we got our food, we were the only ones eating inside the restaurant. I also saw a large group of Korean women enjoying themselves inside, so I knew this place had to be legit. We ordered the veggie kimbap ($13), BibimGuksu ($18), and garlic shrimp ($20). I was starving and the food definitely hit the spot. Kimbap was standard and I inhaled it in minutes. The bibimguksu was great for a hot day. I opted for the gochujang instead of the soy sauce for an extra kick. I also requested no beef and the employees kindly subbed kimchi instead. It's not a heavy dish at all and the leafy greens it comes with actually makes it feel quite healthy. In contrast to my dish, my boyfriend's garlic shrimp was rich and more on the heavier side. I'm not a shrimp fan, but I stole bites of the veggies in his dish and the flavors were phenomenal. The entree also comes with your choice of mac salad or green salad.
