A visit with Dr. Boyte and team is always an amazing experience. There is so much unknown to me that is going on in my mouth; bacteria, inflammation, tartar, decay. I've always been very tentative about dental care, it's not something I looked forward to. Until recently. Now, I appreciate my every-6-month visit to Dr. Boyte, and the benefits that provide it. After the assessment, we share thoughts on strategies for maintenance (or treatment as the case may demand), and agree on the care that will be provided. I haven't been to the dentist in so long and didn't make it a priority because I don't like going to the dentist due to past experiences. It just felt like the previous dental places just needed to get the job done and go on to the next patient but the staff here at Brenda L Boyte took such good care of me from my very FIRST visit. Martha gave me my first cleaning in years and she made me feel super comfortable! The way she cleaned my teeth was not rough at all and I was pretty nervous when she started but during the process of cleaning, I quickly felt comfortable and knew she was concerned about how I was was feeling throughout the process because she kept asking me if I was okay which the previous hygienists I went to never asked and didn't care if I felt uncomfortable or was in pain. Thank you Martha for the amazing service and making my teeth so clean! Dr. Boyte is super sweet and provides great service as well! I felt super comfortable with her too! I had to get a crown and she made the whole experience so much better! Each step she took she always gave me a disclaimer on what I was going to feel which my previous dentist never did, so that was something I greatly appreciated about Dr. boyte. And also, Dr. Boyte just knows her job so well, the results of my crown was spot on. After everything, I can't even tell I had a crown on and I had nothing to complain about either. Dr Ɓoyte is the best of the best in dentistry. I wish I had 'discovered' her a few decades ago and I am certain that had I been so fortunate, my bight would be way more intact than it is now. Before switching to Dr Boyte I had spent decades with a dental firm that was all about drilling, filling, crowning, root canaling, you name it, need it or not they would be doing it! To the detriment of both my mouth and my wallet. A couplefew decades of tool inflicted pain and tens of thousands of dollars paid, one would think I must have a stellar set of chompers, right? Wrong! I in fact have jacksquat to show for what could have bought me a BMW with extras! I was much overdue for my dental check up and cleaning, and I wanted to get in for an appointment before the year ends. I called their office and was able to get an appointment the very next day. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and I was greeted by a friendly face at the front desk. They had already verified my insurance info, so they took my temperature and walked me back to the dental chair where I was greeted by Dr Boyte before her assistant took some xrays and pictures of my teeth. Dr Boyte is fantastic! She is very personable, gentle, and through. She took the time to explain what the X-rays and pictures of my teeth were showing. Turns out I need a few fillings and a replacement of an old crown , which my old dentist had warned me about before. My cleaning with the hygienist Martha also went well. She measured my pockets and showed me areas that needed some improvement. She gave me a good cleaning which again was loong over due ! I liked how I left the office with my next appointment for my cleaning , so that I won't forget and can keep my teeth and gums in tip top shape . Noamie gave me the estimates for the fillings and crown and I was able to schedule the appointment for treatment with Dr Boyte. Definitely one of the best dental experiences I have had. Everyone was friendly and kind. The office was very clean, neat, and COVID aware! Everyone was in masks , air purifiers, and sanitizers in use. I felt very safe and comfortable. Me: I started coming in 2017. Not having a dental insurance means paying out-of-pocket for everything. It is quite costly. When Clarisse was working here, she was very pushy about getting you to return again. Son: My son started coming here for his 6-months cleaning. I didn't like the fact that Clarisse had added 'Fluoridation/varnish' treatment to my son's initial cleaning without letting me know. (Previous dentist never treated his teeth with fluoridation because his fluoride exposure is high) But, of course not knowing this until the cleaning was already done, did bother me at that time. Me: I came in to see Dr. Boyte. Clarisse was no longer there. Dr. Boyte said that it sounded like the symptoms I described, is an infection. She recommended that I get a scaling and root planning (deep cleaning) done in that particular area/quadrant, and to get the amalgam fillings removed and replaced (2 teeth) with resin composite fillings done at the same time and that I may have to have my wisdom tooth extracted if the pain/infection persists. I agreed to the treatments except to get my wisdom tooth extracted. It was costly, indeed. Once, again, I was told that I should make an appointment to get a 6-month check-up/cleaning done. Finally, I came in to get an exam, x-rays, cleaning done. Mind you, the infection was still there, even though the pain is not. During the cleaning Martha had told me the infection is coming from tooth # 16 (wisdom) and that the gum pocket was deep, and that there is some bone loss. I had mentioned to her that I feel like it is coming from tooth #15 (the big one), just because after the fillings and deep cleaning, it just doesn't feel natural to me. Five days after the cleaning, the infection was inflamed and swollen. Son: My son had to have some teeth extracted because of his braces. I thought I'd give Dr. Boyte the business since (I thought) we had established some kind of patient/doctor relationship already. I had called and spoke to Maria, this is when things started to go south. Maria wanted to bill me for the 'Surgical' procedure ($856.00) instead of the 'Simple 'procedure ($400.00). I had asked her why. And I had mentioned that his ortho said it is a straight forward procedure. I pay out-of-pocket for my dental need, so unlike insured patients, I have access to my schedule fee. She goes on to tell me about how it depends on my son's comfort level-pain, yadda, yadda, yadda, something about 'two-hour window', have a good breakfast on the day of the extraction, everything that I can care less about. It frustrated me that I couldn't get a straight answer from her. I made the call to my son's ortho to see if they can refer him to a dentist that can perform this procedure. I'm glad I did because everything was done in about 15 minutes (4 ext). The correct procedure and cost ($400). Me: I called to see what it would cost to get my wisdom tooth (#16) extracted. I already know what I should be paying since I had received an email from Naomi ($214.00) in September. Here we are in December. Naomi said it is $270.00. I asked her why the price increase. She said that Maria had updated the price on their computer. I told Naomi before I make the appointment that I wanted to call my dental network to see what and if the fees had increased and that I will call her back. There is no change to the fees. The representative said they were just trying to 'rip' me off. Legally, they are contracted to honor the fee schedule. So I called Naomi back, but Maria decided that she will handle my call. I proceeded to let her know that my fee schedule has not increased. She goes on to tell me that it is on her end, on their computer because when I called to ask about the extraction price for my son (which she keeps bringing up even though it is irrelevant and he never came in to get the work done here), that she had changed the prices on their computer. She tells me that she will change the price from $270.00 to $214.00 so it reflects what I should pay on the fee schedule. Seriously?! (By this time I seeked another dentist who did a CT scan and showed me exactly where the abcess was coming from (#15 just as I had suspected). Maria overrides and manually enters her own prices and decides what she feels like charging me, instead of honoring the fee schedule listed on the contract. Every time I talk to Maria over the phone, she never fails to bs her way. So I made a final decision to call Maria to let her know that I cannot trust HER to move forward with seeing them again. She basically said that she understands and that that is my decision. Rigghht. Honesty is the key to a successful business. It's too bad, Maria didn't have it in her. read more

Whew Thank gosh for Brenda Boyte DDS and her staff!!! So I have to start by saying that I've had some bad dealings and experiences with dentists in the past, which led me to my lack of going for a few years. I know I know Shame on me but it's just plain scary. A few weeks ago my dam filing broke, I mean broke! I didn't know who to turn to, and then I remember Brenda! I had met her at a yelp event before so I DM her. She responded quickly, ensured me they would treat me kindness and honesty. The following Monday I called her office and scheduled an appointment. Day of arrived, I was nervous as hell but I still went. I was greeted by the lovely Clarissa and began filling out my forms. In the chair I went, hands shaking... Everything went great! Brenda and her staff took X-rays, cleaned my teeth and discussed my treatment plan. It was not as bad as I thought! With their kindness I was able to bare the appointment and actually returned for another. I have had two appointments to date, and have another in a week.
