Still stand by what I wrote over a year ago. I feel like when my life is constantly changing having certain things remain stable through my life are really nice to reflect on. One of those is Dr. Hashimoto's office. I've been here a handful of times this new year for jaw issues that he's been working on with me. One of the reasons why I will always suggest Dr. Hashimoto is because of how methodical he is in explaining what he's doing. He walks you through every procedure no matter how big or small. The hygienists here are always lovely, as well as Valerie and Lisa! Lisa is a new face to me at least, but a welcome addition. One example I'll give is a recent one. I have jaw locking that's due from stress/potential clenching at night. I came in for a visit in which Dr. Hashimoto worked my jaws a bit and I ended up having my jaw lock as he was working on my mouth. His concern was so apparent, it was like an automatic switch. He made sure my mouth wasn't opening to wide, he had Alley put a little gauze in my mouth to keep my mouth open without having me attempt to do so myself. I'm one of those patients, no matter how uncomfortable I say I'm okay because I know I can get through it. This jaw locking was probably my first experience with pain in the seat. It was reassuring to feel his genuine concern in that moment. Sometimes you read horror stories about doctors who act in an unprofessional manner and disregard the comfort of their patients. You won't experience that here. Dr. Hashimoto is witty and engaging. His staff becomes a part of your life in a way. You ask about their kids, ask about the holidays, you exchange stories. It's reassuring and comforting. If you're on the hunt in Sacramento, look no further. I moved down to LA almost three years ago and I still refuse to go anywhere else. read more

I have been going to Dr Hashimoto for almost 30 years, and my children also went to him after they aged out of pediactric dentistry. He is BY FAR the BEST dentist I have ever had, and I went to several others before he was recommended to me by friends. He is meticulous, detailed, has a gentle touch, he's funny, and explains EVERYTHING thoroughly before and during a procedure. His staff are top notch because he demands excellence from all of them. His office is immaculate and beautifully decorated. He has gone the extra mile to ensure a very clean and safe environment for patients and staff during these covid times we now live in (e.g., upgraded HVAC system, UV lights, etc.). So, I needed to come in here and fix this review because Dr. Hashimoto having 1-star is completely ludicrous. I've been seeing him since I had baby teeth. Seriously. He knows my family, he asks about my job and school and so on and so forth. No, he's not Mr. Manners because he's one dentist in an incredibly busy business and he checks EVERY SINGLE PATIENT himself. So, he can be a bit abrupt. However, he is a fantastic dentist. He's a complete perfectionist and he wants your teeth to always look and feel perfect. Sheri (at the front desk) is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and she will go out of her way to set up an appointment with you. Oh, by the way, Hashimoto cleaned my teeth OUT OF POCKET when I didn't have dental insurance for over a year. And he also squeezed me in at the last minute when I got an infection in my mouth and didn't know what was going on (which he also diagnosed immediately and gave me meds that cleared it up in a couple of days). For me, bedside manner is not the most important quality in a dentist. Good dentistry is... and honestly, Dr. Hashimoto is hard to beat when it comes to good dentistry. read more

The first time I met Dr. Hashimoto, he saved the smile I had been working so hard to get. I had braces for 4 years and as soon as they took them off I found out my front tooth died! He worked his magic and I've had an amazing smile ever since! I've even moved 3 times and every time I move back to Sacramento, I make the call to Dr. Hashimoto. His offices are clean and everyone on staff is nice and welcoming. He uses technology I haven't seen in other dental offices. He is very knowledgeable and articulate and makes sure I understand my current situation. He also offers me options and doesn't push me into doing things I can't afford. A healthy mouth is directly related to a healthy heart so it's really important to have an awesome dentist. I strongly recommend Dr. Hashimoto's office. He also accepts Care Credit which can be very helpful when you need things to be done but are strapped for cash. read more

This guy was awesome. I went in for just a retainer with teeth to fill some gaps. I was paying out of pocket cus I have mediCal. The first appointment was just a check up type thing and he recommended a bunch of work I couldn't afford. The second appointment he admitted he didn't think he was really listening and that he realized all I wanted was a nice smile I could be proud of for as cheap as possible. I was expecting to pay around a thousand. But he worked with me and I paid less than 500!! For the initial appointment, the second appointment where they took a mold and the cost of the retainer/ stay plate. He was funny and called me by my preferred name (not my legal name) the staff was sweet and respectful. Loved this guy. I highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Hashimoto is the greatest. I have been seeing Dr. Hashimoto for over 25 years. During that time he has performed a wide range of dental procedures for me including fillings, extractions, bridges (2), crowns (several), and implants (2). Dr. Hashimoto loves what he does. He embraces the latest developments in dentistry with open arms and has an enthuiasm for dentistry that one might find in a recent dental school graduate. Hashimoto has serious personality issues. His equipment seems good, and might have good dental skills, but the man has the biggest ego problem I've ever encountered with any medical professional. I've never had a dentist initiate a stare-down before -- it's extremely awkward, especially when you're in the chair, and he's looming over you. He's a short guy, and that probably plays a part of his insecurity, but to let it affect the clinical setting -- that's completely unprofessional, and it destroys the trust needed in a dr. - patient relationship. Oh, and at the slightest bit of resistance to his pushiness, he'll drop a patient. Just like that. He needs to keep his office totally submissive. No trust whatsoever, and no respect for his ego. the guy's a colossal tool. read more

I have been going to Dr. Hashimoto for more than 20 years. He is very up to date on new equipment and keeps abrest of new dental techniques. I feel he has kept me teeth healthy and prevented me from tooth loss on a couple occasions. Everyone on his staff is efficient and he has everyone well trained. I have been seeing Dr. Hashimoto for many years now and have recommended him to my family and several friends. I would give him 10 stars, if possible. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, conscientious, and caring, and I trust him completely with his decisions. He ensures that he hires staff that are equally as competent. Dr. Hashimoto and his staff have turned my visits into something I look forward to - it is always a very positive and upbeat experience, while still very professional. That was definitely not the case with the dentists and their staff that I had prior to finding this office. I recently went to a specialist for a consultation for a specific dental procedure. Afterwards, I contacted Dr. Hashimoto via email regarding some questions and concerns I had. Not only did he take time out of his busy day to contact me directly via phone to ensure he understood my concerns, he then communicated with the specialist directly and ensured that my concerns were thoroughly addressed, ultimately resulting in a successful primary procedure, while avoiding an unnecessary secondary procedure. When my mother was still driving, she went to Dr. Hashimoto's office and left her dental devices there. This was at the end of her driving days and they recognized that driving was becoming stressful for her because of her blood pressure, which they always check prior to performing any dental procedure. One of the staff members was kind enough to go out of her way to drop them off to her on her way home after work. Both my mom and I live in East Sacramento and now schedule our appointments together so I can drive her. My son lives about 90 miles away and he comes into town to see Dr. Hashimoto as well. None of us give a second thought about going the distance to this office as Dr. Hashimoto and his staff have gone above and beyond the distance to take excellent care of us over the years. Dr. Hashimoto is incredible. I just had my back molar extracted. I absolutely hate shots (needed three) but if you have to have them he's the one you want to get them from!!!! I don't know if his needles are thinner, shaper or if his expertise (I'm sure all of them)but it just a minor sting. I'm writing this four days after the extraction and the only discomfort to date has been biting down on a gauze to stop the bleeding. No asprin, aleve of any other pain killer....its like I never had my tooth pulled. I wonder if he'll give me shots before I go to the oral surgeon to get the implant????? read more

Dr. Hashimoto and his dental assistant Alley were great! Alley helped me check in and also told me the whole process of what they were going to do to my teeth on that day. Hashimoto himself was great. He keeps things on a professional yet on a personal level to where he would know my personal habits and what I could be doing better to keep them healthy. Dr. Hashimoto's office is the best Dentist office I have ever been to!! Not does he have the most up to date technology, I have never had a dentist who was as thorough in explaining everything about my teeth to me. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best teeth. The office is clean and they have the best Dental assistants. Alley is super friendly and very gentle and efficient when doing X-rays. Cheryl does a great job with teeth cleaning and is the only dental assistant who does not dig in your gums while cleaning. This office makes having to go to the dentist a way better experience. Also, they always screen for oral cancer! I have never had this done at any other dentist office. Dr. Hashimoto and his staff provide THE best dental care we've had while living in Sacramento. We have been patients for 5 years now. The person who gave the low rating needs to re-evaluate what good dentistry means. Dr. Hashimoto saved a tooth that my previous long-time dentist recommended just be pulled. That was 5 years ago and I still have my own tooth. Had I listened to the oh-so-sweet dentist with the great "bed side manner" I would have an implant now. I thought I had developed an abscess. Dr. Hashimoto made immediate room for me. He probed and cleaned and x-rayed, and determined that I had inflamed my gums (something slipped down into the gums). He told me to use Colgate's Peroxyl for a few days. It's great, one day later! read more

i have to agree with Heidi K. on her review. i was very disappointed with the way he treats his patients and his assistants. I swear i had a different dental assistant every time i went there. I am assuming they run because he treats them very rudely like they are stupid. I felt embarrassed and sorry for the poor assistants. As a dentist, I found him to be very condescending, rude and also doing something funny with the billing but if you ask him about it, you will hear a lecture. The way he treats his staff and patients is known around Sacramento at least with the friends i know that USED to go to him that have since changed to a new dentist. What was amazing was many years ago, he had many patients that had Delta Dental coverage and for some reason he decided he did not want to accept Delta Dental so all those patients that had that coverage had to find a new dentists, then he decides he is going to accept it again, and sends letters asking for his patients to return. What the heck is that about??? If you want a dentist that will treat you respectfully, this guy is not the one. My new dentist is wonderful unlike Dr. Hashimoto. read more
