At my first appointment on September 22, 2025, the hygienist only cleaned half of my teeth in about 30 minutes and told me to come back later in the week to finish. Then the office claimed that this second visit would count as my "second cleaning." So basically, they tried to count one cleaning split into two sessions as the two cleanings I paid for. That's like paying for two burritos and being given one burrito cut in half -- it's absurd. This whole situation was incredibly stressful, frustrating, and felt like a complete scam. It honestly ruined my week trying to sort it out. Their own brochure clearly states "two professional cleanings," yet I only got half of one. The experience left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of, and I would strongly warn others to stay away or double-check everything before paying.

After the assessment, we share thoughts on strategies for maintenance (or treatment as the case may demand), and agree on the care that will be provided. Still stand by what I wrote over a year ago…read more I feel like when my life is constantly changing having certain things remain stable through my life are really nice to reflect on. One of those is Dr. Hashimoto's office. I've been here a handful of times this new year for jaw issues that he's been working on with me. One of the reasons why I will always suggest Dr. Hashimoto is because of how methodical he is in explaining what he's doing. He walks you through every procedure no matter how big or small. The hygienists here are always lovely, as well as Valerie and Lisa! Lisa is a new face to me at least, but a welcome addition. One example I'll give is a recent one. I have jaw locking that's due from stress/potential clenching at night. I came in for a visit in which Dr. Hashimoto worked my jaws a bit and I ended up having my jaw lock as he was working on my mouth. His concern was so apparent, it was like an automatic switch. He made sure my mouth wasn't opening to wide, he had Alley put a little gauze in my mouth to keep my mouth open without having me attempt to do so myself. I'm one of those patients, no matter how uncomfortable I say I'm okay because I know I can get through it. This jaw locking was probably my first experience with pain in the seat. It was reassuring to feel his genuine concern in that moment. Sometimes you read horror stories about doctors who act in an unprofessional manner and disregard the comfort of their patients. You won't experience that here. Dr. Hashimoto is witty and engaging. His staff becomes a part of your life in a way. You ask about their kids, ask about the holidays, you exchange stories. It's reassuring and comforting. If you're on the hunt in Sacramento, look no further. I moved down to LA almost three years ago and I still refuse to go anywhere else.

Not just one but two....Did I mention I HATE dentists and having my teeth worked on. I am a super big baby. HOWEVER, enter Dr Makishima....he was truly amazing. I have had two root canals prior that were not so great and quite painful. Dr Makishima did the first one on my first appointment and if it is possible to have a good root canal experience, I would say that was it. I went back for root canal number two and once again, his work was masterful and nothing as painful as I had experienced with the prior two from other dentists. He has a gentle touch and soft spoken demeanor that really puts even the biggest baby at ease (ME). I test him even more, I sent my kids to see him and they all agreed he "rocks". So in a nutshell, if a grown adult baby says he's great, and four young kids say he's great....then I think you will love him just as well. Great Dentist and very nice office staff. Clean office, easy parking, no waiting, good supply of magazines and overall friendly office.
