When I reserved my time online, I typed in my email address incorrectly, so they called and let me know. I appreciated the reminder. When I met my therapist the first time, Michelle, she asked which part of my body needs attention, then had me stood up to check on my posture and providing feedback. The evaluation was very short, so she could start working on me. Once I was on the massage table, Michelle started working, her voice was calm while guiding me to take deep breathes. She made very little conversation during the session so I can relax, but she did point out on the major issue on my body that is causing problems, so I can notice. Michelle's massage technic was exceptional, very solidly strong but gentle, not the kind that dig into the muscles causing pain, her pressure was very consistent throughout the session. She used forearm pressure instead of the elbow to apply more pressure, I appreciated that because the pressure from the forearm is more gentle comparing to sharp pressure from elbow. Michelle used very little oil so I wasn't all greased up at the end. She had a good playlist with more loungey Jazz lo-beat music than those water running zen music makes me wana go pee all the time. It's best to call the clinic to make reservation if you like to book with Michelle, since her schedule changes. The receptionist was very helpful when booking my next appointment. I decided to give them a try and book my first appointment with Kyle. I came in for an initial visit with some neck and shoulder pains. Kyle really took the time to understand my needs and concerns along with conducting a thorough movement test. The treatment helped alleviate my issues. On top of the treatment, Kyle even provided with me home care to ensure a speedier recovery. As well, he prescribed additional exercise and stretches based on anything else he noticed (ie. Tight quads, glutes not engaged, etc.) He was also patient in answering my questions about the body (movements, stretches, etc.) - I tend to have a lot! I have had a sore/stiff neck for years from a motor vehicle accident and I also have a desk job. When I am really stiff, I can get pain down my arm to my elbow. I don't know how he does it, but a half-hour acupuncture session relieves this completely and immediately. It's happened at least twice, so I am convinced that he's skilled and it's not a fluke! He is also a super strong human, so his deep tissue massage is wonderful for someone with a high pain tolerance. I highly recommend Jiaru's services! He is fluent in both Mandarin and English.

He is trained as a RMT but I also like that he uses Chinese massage techniques as well which I find more effective. Unlike some RMT's he really seemed to pay attention to what was wrong with my body, writing down notes after my session so he would remember or my next visit. I would definitely recommend him.

He was very chatty, but in a pleasant way and I enjoyed hearing about his entrepreneur story. The clinic was new and was clean and tidy and I liked the convenient online booking process which sent me a reminder text the day before. The only reason for a 3 star review (otherwise would have been 4 stars) is that my time was cut short a little over 5 mins I did get there early but the massage still started a bit late, and ended a bit early. Not a huge deal but sometimes with massages, just getting the exact time you're allotted is a bit of a minimum expectation. A good place to have on the roster and I would definitely consider returning!
