Unfortunately after that it was about10 minutes before we got our drink order taken then about 10 more minutes before our drinks arrived and she took our order then another 30 minutes before our food arrived. Our order came out quickly after our server finally went to check on it which lends me to believe it was sitting there waiting for her. The food was pretty good but maybe not worth the hour wait. I was attending our annual sibling's reunion in Ludington and we decided to try this place for lunch. The motif is nautical somewhat-outdated diner which had a certain charm. We were there right at lunchtime and it wasn't at all crowded but it's not a small place either. We were immediately seated at a requested booth. Our waitress Cassandra (?) was really good. I was disappointed that there were no vegetarian and certainly no vegan-labeled items. I decided to get the sweet potato fries which were quite tasty. My two sisters split a perch sandwich which was very generous even when cut in two. It was served with a few chips, a pickle and tartar sauce on the side. My bro-in-law had the cod sandwich which also came with chips, pickle and sauce. They each got a side salad which my sister raved about - iceberg lettuce, green peppers, onions, tomato and cheese. If you are in Ludington this is the breakfast place to stop at. The service was average, but the food came out hot, fast, and very good. Prices were reasonable but the one complaint I have is the menu said it was cash only so I left to grab money after ordering, but apparently I missed the small sign that said $1 charge if you choose to use a credit/debit card. Brenda's is a jewel of a find in Downtown Ludington. The staff is friendly and service is quick. I love brunch and I was excited to see a simple menu (that includes lunch options as well). I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs while the rest of my table ordered a mixture of skillets and a breakfast burrito. We all devoured our food. My day started horrible, my husband and I had just decided to finalize our divorce. I got up and decided to go to Brenda's. On my way there I saw a bright light, it was Brenda! She had just saved a kitten and was actually fixing the power at my house. I walked into the Café and the charm was out of this world. This place was recommended to us by my future in laws. With all the great reviews, I was excited to try this place. I love little places like this so we thought we'd give it a try. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! Came in at 11:45a. We were seated right away. It was a little busy, but service was quick. Server came over a few minutes later to get our drink order. I ordered coffee and before my fiancé could order anything she walked away. Came back a few minutes later with a carafe of coffee and water. Still never asked my fiancé if he wanted anything to drink. She took our food order and when I asked if he could have a coke she got an attitude. When she got his drink, she put it in front of me. My water glass was dirty. It had old food smeared in the inside. I realized this after drinking it. Gross. 50 MINUTES LATER we still hadn't received our order. We never saw our server again either. You would think only ordering a club sandwich, salad and a fruit cup, it wouldn't take more than 15-20 mins to make. The other staff over heard us talking about not receiving our order and did nothing (maybe go say something to our server). We finally left cash on the table for our drinking and walked out. No one even said anything. A group that sat down after us walked out as well. So sad to have such awful service. I've worked as a server for four years. I understand things happen and it gets crazy when it's busy. This was just bad service. If the kitchen was backed up she could've at least came over and let us know. If I treated my clients the way they treat their customers I'd be out of business. Definitely won't be back. read more

We are visiting from out of town and was looking for good breakfast. This place didn't have very many reviews but what they did were positive. We were seated right away. Water on the table in seconds. Wait staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They have gluten free bread and gf muffins. They also have hand sanitizer on the tables which is a cool touch. Ask for their home made hash browns instead of the processed ones. I got the breakfast bagel and hash browns and it was great. They always kept my coffee full and were very accommodating and attentive. For the price and location this is a great spot. read more

It doesn't get much more authentic smalltime restaurant then this one :-) we came in and were welcomed, fresh coffee poured immediately and followed by advice on their stellar menu. I had the Mexican omelette and it was both unique and absolutely delightful! We showed up - first two people of our group and asked if they could accommodate 9 + a baby, they instantly had no less than 4 employees rearranging and combining a couple of tables and setting them like a well-oiled machine. Also had a high chair. The speed and smoothness was impressive. Service was quick and they were Johnny-on-the-spot with coffee or anything we needed but not overly-intrusive. Everybody in our group had something different. We had eggs Benedict and a Spinach Omelette and both were excellent. Everyone else liked their food. We had a couple of two year olds that started to have meltdowns by the end of our visit, had an adult have a coffee accident and we cannot say enough about the staff and how friendly, courteous, professional and efficient they were through everything.
