The food ranges from normal cinema fair up to more gourmet foods found in the cafe. BTW the popcorn comes with a lid for shaking and you add your own butter!!! I took my boys and nephew here to see Wakanda Forever about a week ago, and this was the first time we've all been to this theater. Purchased all our tickets online a few days before on Fandango. I've heard a few things about this place from coworkers such as the recliners, food you can order, etc... but when we got here, I immediately regretted this decision and our theater/movie experience just kept going downhill with each minute. First off, their bathrooms are disgusting. Like smelly and nasty. It had trash everywhere and urine all over the floor near the toilet. So I feel sorry for those that have to use it (or clean it)... I only used one bathroom, so I don't know if any others are available or in the same condition. The concessions stand down the ramp was closed which would have been more convenient to visit and make some snack purchases, but no, you have to go all the way back up and get in line thereby missing at least 10 minutes of the movie during the whole process. There were already like seven workers in the first concessions stand that didn't need to be there since there was no line and a slow night, but whatever. Next, their Digital 3D Experience gave me vertigo for a few days which was wild. I've been to many 3D movies and I've never experienced that before in my life. It was so bad, you worry that it won't go away... luckily mine did, finally, after a few days. I think it had to do with the type of 3D glasses they used which were horrible from the start and we should have known. They made the movie screen darker when you put them on, so we should have just left them off, which is what my nephew did but I didn't know that until he told me as we were leaving. I should have don't the same because you could hardly see the movie, sad. Next, the recliners have buttons, which is great, but the general condition of the recliners themselves were horrible and just overused and torn up. I couldn't stop wondering about the amount of bacteria build up there must be along the fabric since there wouldn't be any way to properly clean them in that condition. Parking was ok, but we parked in the structure in the back about three floors up and had to go around the movie building just to get to the front door, but I'll let that slide. The issue was that a lot of the bottom spaces were either taken or reserved for other establishments, which is fine. The two stars are only for the lady inside that helped us redeem our tickets, maybe the manager since she was dressed differently then the others... but I should have went back and told her about the bathroom. Oh well. Am I ever going here again, no. My boys, nephew, and I all agreed that we should never go here again. From the outside, it may look nice, but that's about it. You're better off just going to a normal theater with surround sound and a nice bright screen that you can actually see. But if you must go here, be careful that you might get that 3D vertigo afterwards, so be careful. read more

We love this theater! The staff is friendly, the concession stand always has great options and the bathrooms are clean. The parking garage is close and I've never had trouble finding parking. The staff comes in and cleans each seat after the movies (or they have when we've been hanging out watching post credit scenes). There are always a lot of movie options. Recently I've been working with them to host a private screening for a school social event. Brian is always so helpful and quick to answer my 100 questions. I will definitely use this theater for private events again. The seats are comfy and they start their movies on time. read more

It's rundown and the bathrooms smell like urine. Someone left their unflushed bloody period in the ladies room. Not very many concession options. The toilet paper dispenser hit me because no one locked it. Toilets had pee and pubes on the seats. It's not even remotely busy and no one is bothering to check the bathrooms. read more

I used to love going to this theatre YEARS AGO. I went there recently two times and both times the downstairs women's bathroom has always been a mess. The last time I went EVERY SINGLE stall was clogged downstairs it was so gross. I went upstairs and it was perfectly fine. The theatre does give me a somewhat ghetto or ratchet vibe. I was buying snacks and another lady came up to me while I was ordering at the register and asked me to buy her candy and popcorn and the staff didn't say anything to her. Some of the recliner seats are broken and don't recline at all. I would recommend sticking to century in pleasant hill or Walnut Creek. read more

their relatively new chairs are nice and the galaxy bathroom is iconic (although they repainted over one of them) however the service today was dogshit major. had tickets to see a movie whose showtime was at 2:45 and got there around 2:30. This sign was outside of the theatre so my friend and i patiently waited but as the clock struck 2:44, my friend and i went in anyway because we wanted to get situated before the lights went down and have a moment to just relax. clearly someone wasn't doing their job because although the theatre was clean, the sign was left outside and the previews had already begun. i could've missed a preview for a movie that i could've wanted to see in the future so the company is only hurting itself, and all in the name of a film about some rich white people trying to force a woman of color to marry into their family for vampiric reasons. read more

I'm only giving 1 star because they don't have anything lower. The parking garage is not safe and neither is the theater. I left my car for two hours and came out to a broken window and a $500 bill to fix my car. After leaving the theater parking garage I noticed glass all over the ground. I wish I would have noticed this prior to heading in to watch the movie. I will never go to another theater or business owned by the Brenden companies. They need to do more to protect their patrons and their property instead of posting signs saying park at your own risk. Terrible, just terrible. read more

My family and I have been coming to this theater for years since we moved to the area. We walk in tonight and we get stopped by some white man who works there asking us for tickets so he may guide us in the right direction, mind you I did say we've been going for years. With no hesitation I pull up our tickets on my phone.. no problem. Step up to the concession stand look back and he stops no one else to direct in the right direction? So now I'm pissed because why you stop me and mine and no one else? Sounds like racial profiling? judging a book by its cover? If it ain't white it ain't right? Brenden Theatres is up in Martinez. There's a free parking lot on that block. I went last weekend and watched Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. My wife and I had some Fandango gift cards and used it to purchase tickets in their recliner seats (assigned seating). Other places were all booked up, so we decided to head up to Martinez from Oakland. Perhaps because of the holiday weekend, there wasn't a lot of traffic. The theater is clean and the seats are nice with a good recline. The seats were comfortable. Given the price of movie tickets these days and the emergence of streaming services (Hulu, Netflix, Disney+), it takes something special to get me to watch someone in a movie theatre. Stars was one of them, and our experience in the Breden Theatres was great, They have a bar you can order from. From the snack station, I just wanted to mention if you were thinking of ordering coffee, it's $3 from a Keurig pod, I was really tired though so I needed the caffeine. read more

It's been years since I've last been to this movie theater. Watched Captain Marvel this weekend... The seats were really comfy and reclines pretty much all the way back. The restaurant up front also had yummy snacks! Expensive, but hey! That's how movie theaters make their money. Overall okay, but not the best theater option in the area. Went here to see Jesus Revolution this weekend and it was alright. Ticket prices are nice and the reclining seats were a huge plus. The self serve ticket kiosks were seriously laggy and user unfriendly. The bathrooms weren't unclean. Was not a fan of the placement of bathrooms and concessions: any non-single bathrooms are a good ways away from downstairs theaters and a bathroom break will have you miss a solid 5-10 minutes of your movie. Concessions were also nuts. Not a fan of no refills or paid refills. Soda isn't that expensive that a refill hurts the bottom line that much. Popcorn and soda are good sizes but the paid refill just left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, not a completely bad review, but there's better options in the area. read more

If i wasn't limited to 5 stars, Brenden Theater would have earned Yelps first 172 Star Rating in its history. I'll give a brief description now, with further details, and hopefully a video link in the future. In a nut shell, if you think all theaters are the same, I learned they are not. While MOST places are highly corperitized and rigid, Brenden, and its Manager Robert, take customer service to a level i didn't know theaters knew about. In an effort to make my Wedding Proposal interesting, i spoke with management about doing a Wedding Trailer Proposal, and they were instantly interested. Apparently this company has history of working with with its customers to be MORE than just a place to sit and watch movies. They took time out of their day, sent employees to help with the production,and overall were interested in my projects success. IT WAS UNEXPECTED, AND AMAZING!! While you may not be doing a Wedding Proposal Trailer. So their interest in the community may seem unimportant. But its that human touch kind of detail that leaks out into so many regular things. You'r not lodged in like cattle inside the theater. The seats are huge, with space inbeetween. Almost more importantly the seats are always clean (who likes dirty seats?). And somehow, the staff is always smiling and happy to help. (I hate employees that look like i'm bothering them to help me. Well thats it for now. I will update this post later with more info. But i wanted to get my appreciation for the Brenden Theaters and its staff out asap. read more

This theater really did a 360, Brenden has been my go to theater for me and the kids for the last year or so. It used to be the worse theatre in the area by far. The seats were old, the theater was old, the food was awful. The service was as good as the food was. With the new changes, café that serves pizza, burger, actual fries, wine and beer. Lounge sitting for most of the rooms. I have to admit they are doing a great job. If you ask them and give them your seat number, they even bring you your pizza when it's done so you don't miss your movie time. Now if they can only update their tiny arcade area, they would be fantastic. read more

Chances are you'll find yourself here if you're looking to downgrade from the nearby Century Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek chains. But, this somewhat stuck-in-the-80s galactica theme of a theater still delivers the goods just as satisfying as any other local movie theater. And, what particularly charms me about this theater is its old local hometown charm and cheaper ticket prices. This theater offers a Matinee/Bargain ticket before 6pm at $7.50 (a steal!) and all other Adult tickets at $8.75. The individual theaters inside are normal--comfy seats, large screens, surround sound. No problems, here! Their food and refreshments are generic. What I love is that they have their own butter stations where you can embarrassingly or shamelessly fill your tub of popcorn with as much (or as little) butter as you want. (No stinginess here.) Also, they're generous with their free water cups. Perhaps the only thing you'll be missing here from other theaters is its large, cleanly nature or arcade. When you enter, this theater has all its refreshments in its center with a cool towering centerpiece of a seemingly 80s-style logo and old M&M figurines. Also, the upstairs is dedicated solely to extra restrooms, while the downstairs is dedicated solely to all of the screening rooms/theaters. Employees and service tend to be agreeable and I've never had any complaints. Overall, Brenden gives the goods and viewing pleasure at a more reasonable price! And, when I was wanting to watch Big Hero 6 on my last visit, this was the ONLY local theater still playing it... So I'm guessing Brenden holds onto its movies longer when your nearby Century or other theaters let them go. A good amount of people at the time I watched it, so the theater gets packed which was enjoyable. read more

Out of all the theaters I've gone to in the cities of Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, and Pittsburg, I would have to say that this is my go-to theater. Almost every movie that's come out in the past five years I've gone here. I think I'll continue coming here too especially if I use my own money. Located just off Todos Santos Plaza the theater is located in a wonderful spot. Good food is near in all directions. Walk one way you'll get sushi, walk another way you'll find pizza, and walk another way you can get fast food. Parking is easy here too. There's a parking garage right next to the theater. Three floors with spaces easy to get into. Even if this garage is full, there's more parking across the street near Todos Santos which has two parking garages and ton of street parking. There's also the parking at Park n Shop. Compared to other theaters like the Maya and Century, ticket prices here are fairly cheap. Around eight bucks for a matinee and around ten bucks for the evening. Hoorah, one to two dollars saved! There's a bunch of restrooms upstairs, but there is about four downstairs. Easy to move around the theater. Not only are there stairs, but their is an elevator and ramps as well. The concession stand has a nice variety. Nachos are my favorite. I have them pile on the cheese and the jalapenos. They got Dibs, a ton of candy, the typical popcorn and soda combo, some slush drinks, and more. Nachos aren't the best nachos in the world, but as one of the few places that carries nachos in and around Todos Santos, it's pretty good. The cheese is hot, the jalapenos are spicy, and chips are crunchy. Each room I've been in for watching a movie has been clean. The seat are a bit old, but they don't look like they are falling apart. Each seat is comfortable. The sound system is loud. The screen is clear. It's no IMAX but it serves it's purpose. My favorite thing about this place besides the cheap tickets is the friendly staff. I've talked to the managers and to their fellow employees. I've always been treated kindly and with respect. read more

Caught Aquaman last week on a Wednesday afternoon. Was able to order our tickets online and reserve our seats. Got in the theater quickly and was helped with our popcorn and sodas. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Of course snacks are overpriced, but that is common at all movie theaters. This facility is very large and has many screens showing movies. They have 2 concession stands, the one toward the back was closed, assuming due to the slow hours we were there. The theater we saw Aquaman in wasn't too large, had the reclining seats and lots of room to walk through the isles. Appeared clean and the seats were very comfortable. Sound and picture in our theater was great. Bathrooms were decent. One stall missing a door, 2 stalls were out of order, average for a theater bathroom. Parking at the garage next to the theater was free and it was easy in and out. read more

Today was not a good day for this theater. When you wanna get food at the cafe, Don't be surprise that the cafe isn't open when getting there at 1 pm on a Saturday. Under staff is what they say. Then you wanna buy beer at the concession stand. Don't be surprise that the beer isn't cold. Getting your seats... our ticket says i11 at the top right which is the handicap seats, but at the bottom left of the ticket says e11. I asked the manager, he says its a misprint....??? Finally sat down, don't be surprised if the film is blurry. This movie theater seems like its got one foot out of business. They updated this theater about a year ago. I really like the recliners- they are legit. Many of them are dual recliners for couples. Nice selection at the snack bar. Restrooms are always clean. Plenty of parking with the structure right next to it. Close to plenty of nice restaurants. You can park once and have dinner and a show. read more

"Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!" With one swift move, Brendan went from being our most hated theater to our most beloved - those new reclining seats are a serious game changer!! We're now finding excuses to go see movies every couple of months, in 3D, and with a large popcorn and soda - you found the magic formula, Brendan. You freaking did it. Buy your tickets ($12 reg. adult, $15 3D) in advance on Fandango, or in advance on site - either way, get them in advance, as you're reserving your seat, just like you would for a concert. When it's show time, show up whenever you damn well please, get your snacks, and saunter up to your reserved day bed/theater seat for a couple hours of awesome 3D Thor action. I miss **nothing** about the old way of going to Brendan. The crappy seats, the crappy teenagers hopping from one theater to the next (reserved seats makes that pretty difficult, as does cutting the number of seats in half per theater), the crappy upstairs bathroom that made you miss half of your movie if you had to go (new bathrooms were built near the actual theaters), the crappy attitudes from everyone working there.
