The owner and manager are both crooks. Provided a credit cards when I made the reservation. Upon arrival I was offered a discount if I paid cash. I agreed. Have been coming to the Brentwood for over twenty years with a large group of friends. This year, and you could see it coming for the past few years, the Brentwood is awful. First and foremost, the owner is an absolute coward. This year, every single family was moved or simply booted from their reserved lodging. They would've never called us. People started finding out 7-10 days before that their were long term renters and we were being moved around or simply dumped. They continued to renege on lodging assurances even after that. People showed up on the day they had reserved and we're told your cabin is rented. Stay in an auxiliary room off the office/laundry or worse. Front desk told us they would boot you same day if a long-term renter became available. Anyway, You're fired Brentwood. You didn't give a flip about some loyal customers. Duane, your lucky we're a tolerant bunch. You're a coward for not coming to talk with us. P.S. Take the photo of our group down off your website! read more

My wife and I originally planned to stay for 4 nights and ended up staying for 6 because of the great location, the cleanliness and well cared for room we got and the proximity to ATV trails we came to ride. You can access the trails through the back of the property and ride for hours without seeing a car. This is a truly lovely area in the fall with the colorful leaves and crisp weather. While we trailered our quads from home, Brentwood rents both ATVS, and snowmobiles in season. And they have a lot. Rentals are for either 4 hours or 24. And while the liability of renting makes it kind of pricey, I can't recommend the area highly enough. Rooms are clean and have a seperate bathroom. Also have a microwave and good size refrigerator in ours. Parking lot is paved and all the cabins are newly remodeled. The owner is finishing the last one this week. Gas is available a couple blocks away and accessible via your atv. All said, if you are looking into a nice place to stay for a few days, you can't go wrong here. read more

Rated zero. Brentwood Lodge in Indian River Michigan, misrepresents itself stating they can manage handicap accessibility and needs. The only thing they said about the wheelchair is that it would not go in the bathroom After you arrive, they take your money in advance, not showing you the room, making you fully pay, in advance, for the number of days requested. When you arrive, you find not only can they not accommodate you needs, admit they cannot accommodate your needs, refuse any explanation of reason they claimed they could, stating that's your problem when you remind them, they told you they could accommodate your needs and the response is, so we were wrong and that's your problem. We tried telling the fine we understand, but due to medical issues we cannot stay there. Again we get the response that's our problem, fully acknowledging they cannot help. We had no problem staying the one night, it was late and we would take care of it in the morning. Instead of the $143.75 for the one night we were forced to pay in full for the four nights, $575.00 with no refund, again acknowledging they could not accommodate us, but too bad, our problem not theirs. The cabin was so small there was just hall way space between beds and kitchenette. No way to move around in wheelchair, or try using a Walker, we were literally climbing over each other. The towels were dirty, the tub was dirty, rusted out, the toilet paper roll broke off the wall just getting a piece of paper to wipe. The sink was dirty, no soap. We left by 9:00 AM, way before check out, plenty of time to prepare for another guest. Due to home damage, the insurance company paying for temporary housing, was treated just as rude and management hung up on them. Management needs replaced, and missing owner needs to be more present. Not sure about the rooms, but do not rent a snowmobile from them unless you want to wait for 2 hours by the side of the road. Road the sled 20 miles, and it died on the road. Guy said he didn't have a truck, so could not help. Finally all my riding buddies, who also rented sleds wasted half their day to come get the busted sled and drop it off. Talked to owner, and he started telling me how unfair it was of me to be mad. Worst customer service ever. read more

Don't make a reservation unless you're 100% sure you're not going to need to cancel!! They do NOT refund your deposit no matter how soon you let them know!! We camped their once before and it wasn't bad but now that I have lost a deposit even though I cancelled weeks ahead of time I doubt I will stay there again :( read more

Very Cute! Great for families and groups. They have both cabins and a hotel on the very well manicured lawn. The owner is nice and very engaged in the running of the Lodge and it show. We stayed in a cabin, it was very clean and comfortable. The only con was the cabin did smell a little musty, but after leaving the windows open for a little while fixed that problem. The fire pit is a great place to gather with family and friends as well as making new friends. The fire pit comes with all the wood you could ever hope to burn. Just can't say enough good things about this place! read more

Booked a cabin almost three weeks in advance. Showed up the day we were supposed to check in and they said they had no record of me being booked and they had no vacancy. I was basically told, tough luck... I showed where the deposit was taken off my credit card and the guy told me he could not give me my deposit back because the owner wasn't there. I said the owner wasn't there when they took the deposit either, to which I was told, too bad... Luckily we found a place down the road that had a cancelation that night and was able to rent a small cabin to us. We were also told by this place that they get business all the time from Brentwood screwing people over like they did to us. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, OR AT LEAST BE FORWARNED, THEY'RE SCAMMING PEOPLE. read more

Very nice, extremely clean little individual units. Two beds, no "crawling out of a ditch" routine due to mattress age/use. Windows sparkled. All this and more caught our attention. Free wifi. Our unit had microwave & fridge. Parking area for trailer toys; boats, atv, snowmobile. Located adjacent to trail access. I think they also rent atv's there. Then you notice they've spent time on the little things, like larger then average soap bars, all the fixture plates have their screws indexed or oriented the same way, etc. Why did that catch my eye? Dunno, but it tells me that _someone_ there is paying attention to the little stuff. read more

They tell you everything you want to hear over the phone to get you there. I was told one price over the phone and then they inflated the price on arrival. On top of that, I was told that I would receive a discount if I paid with cash, so I took them up on the offer and forked over $491.15 in cash to later learn that my credit card was also charged. They justified this by stating there were additional fees for taxes and for having my dog, although this was all addressed over the phone beforehand. Initially they refused to refund my money but the situation got escalated to the point that the police were called. I finally got a partial refund with the help of having a witness (the police). Up until this point, I was told by management/owner "Good luck in getting your money back". Being a manager myself, in the customer service industry, I don't know how anyone can sleep at night treating people this way WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER, STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

Inflated prices upon arrival. After being called a week before we arrived and told our 3 bedroom cabin was double booked we settled on two smaller cabins. I was told that if we pay in cash, it's cheaper and was given two prices per cabin. We arrived with cash in hand and were each charged an additional $60 each and because the person we talked to no longer worked here and there was nothing they could do about it. I asked to have the owner call me and Art, the gentlemen at the front desk, informed me that the owner won't talk to me. How convenient. What kind of an owner wouldn't call someone who was double booked and then charged an additional $120 for a weekend visit? Also, the pipes froze- we woke up Sunday with no running water or working toilet. Then went the entire day without water (no bathroom, no shower, nothing). After telling us that there were no more available units Art informed us around 5:00pm that someone wasn't going to show and transferred us to another unit so we should have running water and a hot shower. I appreciated that part but overall, it was a disappointing weekend as far as customer service goes. We are not first time customers and usually have decent service. This was incredibly disappointing and we will not be returning. Being over charged after a 6 hour drive is unacceptable, we had no where else to stay. Having no running water or a working toilet for 12 hours was the nail in the coffin, this place needs to get their act together. read more

Very nice place and outstanding workers. Clean and well maintained as well. Full hookup for campers at a very cheap price and just down the road from the boat launch. Would recommend this place highly! read more
