You can't ask for much more than that from a rest stop on the side of the interstate. There were no vending machines that I could see, but there was a nature trail that you could walk on. I visited during the fall, when all of the leaves were turning beautiful colors, so I bet that walking along that trail would have been lovely. I didn't have time to explore, though. Rest stops are places that you hit and quit, and that's exactly what I did.

My family has stayed here several years now simply because of the price and location. However, over the years the place seems more and more run down. The windows look like they have never been cleaned, there are spider webs and cob webs all over, and dead bugs of various breeds litter the windows, cracks, and crevasses of the interior of the cabins. We stay in the "Lodge". For years we have mentioned that there is a mold/mildew issue. Some of us have even gotten sick. They have yet to remediate the problem. Also, the Lodge only has on bathroom. We have requested a key to use the bathroom located on the outside of their store. To which the owner(?) George told me they don't have a key and that everyone in the world would be using the bathroom. However, people renting the cottages and boat slips all have keys as I have seen them using them! George is often gruff and unfriendly and occasionally down right rude. This place could be awesome! The scenery and location are perfect. It is unfortunate that the owners have let it fall to such a level. We are looking for other lodging for future family vacations!
