Okay. Bottom Line Up…read moreFront: Dr Clarkson is a righteous dude. I just wish he practiced more kinds of medicine so we could all go see him for everything. I'm an amateur hypochondriac with at least one friend who is a professional hypochondriac, and I've also had a series of long illnesses in my extended family in the last five years. Further, we have moved from one coast to the other and back, thus completely changing the cast twice. I mention this in the service of saying that I have a lot of experience dealing with a lot of doctors about a lot of different kinds of illnesses, symptoms, treatments, and etc. Dr Clarkson is grade A, five star beef. All wool and a yard wide. Out of the forty-odd docs with whom I have had meaningful experience, he's in the top three, and he may very well be the best of all of them. He is attentive to the patients and considers carefully before answering questions. He is calm, unhurried, and rational, and he explains what he is thinking as well as what he is not thinking in a considerate, structured, and clear way, rather than just handing down a snap verdict, writing a prescription, and peacing out. Facts, people. Facts.

Don't know how they do it. He is one sharp guy. Asks excellent questions to figure out what is going on. Very logical in his approach. He operated on me in 2005 and it could not have gone better. One of the best Docs that I have been too. Stacey O.

For my first appointment, I asked to decline specific asthma testing but had to do the testing due to the requirement of the doctor and being a new patient. Also, with having my asthma under control for several years, I still have to go to an allergy specialist once a year to get medicine refilled. Dr. Judge requires you as a patient to come in every 6 months for an appointment and a breathing test even though my asthma is under control and nothing has changed in the past 10 years as an adult. I asked to meet once a year due to financial impact and having a HDHP and was denied this option. Therefore I will be looking for a new provider. Very sad that some doctors won't allow you to be seen once a year, especially if you cannot financial afford to go multiple times a year and do not have any changes to your current asthma situation.

He was thorough, took the time to explain allergies and treatments and was very gentle with our 3 year old who was tested for gazillions of things. The ONLY downside would be if we needed to go regularly and they aren't open M-F at this location. Other than that, GREAT place!

She was also welcoming of my daughter with special needs! Plus. She was great to get us right in to the audiologist and help us to rule out concerns. I had also had trouble with the forms and instead of being dismissive they laughed with me and understood. I'd highly recommend coming here!

Service was absolutely abysmal and dangerous - review from an existing patient who will never…read morereturn. I have been an existing patient at Raleigh Capitol for a few years now. I have a rare genetic condition that affected the development of my ears (noted on file), so my ears are physically sensitive due to extreme scarring from multiple surgeries. This is to keep in mind when evaluating whether you would want to go to this office. The other Raleigh Capitol offices have been great...not this one. But the treatment I received was so poor that I cannot trust their offices with my hearing aids ever again. The women at the desk seemed completely unaware about how hearing aids function on a basic level to where it was frustrating. They did not seem to realize how ridiculous of an ask they were asking. I didn't do this, but I shouldn't have to divulge personal information about my health to make them understand I needed help. I was hoping this would be information that people working at a doctor's office would assume. I had an emergency and needed to get my hearing aid's tubing replaced because it broke in half. Anyone who has done this knows that this takes 5 minutes. Five minutes total to remove the tube, insert a new tube, measure the tube against the ear, and attach it to the hook of the hearing aid. I was told that this was not possible without dropping off the entirety of my hearing aid, including the hearing aid itself, and having it measured later (as in possibly days from when I would drop it off). Unlike what people may assume about the typical audiologist patient, I may have another hearing aid, but it doesn't help my hearing loss much at all. So I need this hearing aid. I don't know sign language and nobody in my life knows it. If I left, I wouldn't have been able to work. I had no other option. Also, unlike the typical audiologist patient, I'm not retired (no shame to the retirees reading this). I can't just leave work, drive 30 minutes, to spend the 3 minutes to have an ear tube measured against my ear, then drive back 30 minutes on such a short notice without significantly disrupting the workplace. It would be unfair to them. I had time before work, so I wanted that time to be utilized. I understand other patients exist, which is why I was willing to wait until that time opened up. Thankfully it did. I waited until the 5 minutes could be spent and thankfully got my ear mold, ear tube, and hook back. I believed I could finally hear in good quality and without pain. That was not the case. I don't know who exactly changed my ear tube. I saw a young tall brunette woman this time. But the only thing I do know is that you should absolutely never have an emergency situation under her care because it seems like she will be vindictive towards you and damage your things if you show up with an emergency situation. I went back to my car after the ordeal and began to feel pain in my ear canal. I took out my hearing aid and noticed a chip on the "nose" of the ear mold which goes inside the ear canal alongside the edge of the tube sticking out of the ear mold. It felt sharp and was hurting me. Did she stick the tube out from behind the ear mold and sharpen the ear tube enough to cut me? Probably not. But did she break my solid as a rock, non-rubber ear mold and cause a large crack traveling down the most "inside the ear" portion of it? Yes. I had to fix the sticking out piece by myself. However I need to find another office who can offer me a solution for my chipped and cracked ear mold. I don't want a piece to break off and lodge into my ear canal...I shudder at the thought of it. So all and all, if me showing up with an emergency situation was enough to annoy her to the point of doing such a half-hazard job that caused me pain later...thank God I did not give them my hearing aid. I spent a few thousand dollars on them. But this office does not care about the details. It's just a job. It's a money maker. Why put any more effort into it.

Still, sick happens, so when I was finally fed up with years of sinus infections, I ended up at Carolina Ear Nose & Throat. I found the examination (if you'd like to call it that) brief, and the doctor really didn't seem to want to listen to what I'd been going through. He simply decided I HAD to have a cat scan (which my insurance would not cover), and then we'd "talk options." I felt rushed through and not "heard." And when I found out my insurance wouldn't cover the cat scan, I decided to chalk it up to experience and move on... then, I got their bill. It was, excessive. For taking a "brief" medical history and looking up my nose for 10 seconds, excessive to the extreme. I contacted them, asking if this was my out of pocket after insurance, and I was assured it was, however they would be happy to accept payments. Fine. I made the first payment last month, and was about to make the second one this month, when I saw they had marked me "past due" and were mentioning collection! I immediately paid them off and hope this is the end of it. In the end I feel like they were more interested in spending my money on tests and less about helping me get better. At least for me, this was not a place to find solutions to my sinus issues.
