Unfortunately, my recent experiences have left me feeling that the level of patient care, communication, and professionalism has become deplorable. My biggest concern is the lack of communication from the physician regarding my health. After appointments and laboratory testing, I expect more than simply receiving results. An all primary care provider should explain what the results mean, discuss recommended treatment, provide clear instructions for improving my health, and schedule an appropriate follow-up when necessary. Instead, there has been little to no meaningful follow-through. No phone call. No text. No email explaining the next steps. No treatment guidance. No follow-up appointment scheduled. Yet somehow, communication is very efficient when it comes time to send a bill for the laboratory work. Patients should not have to interpret their own medical results or chase their healthcare provider to find out what they are supposed to do next. If something needs improvement, tell me what needs to change, explain my options, develop a treatment plan, and follow up to determine whether that plan is working. That is part of comprehensive primary care. I am also disappointed by interactions with the physician that I felt were unprofessional. A patient should leave an appointment feeling informed, respected, and confident about what happens next--not confused and wondering whether anyone will contact them. I previously had a very positive opinion of this facility, and I would like to be able to feel that way again. However, billing patients without providing adequate communication, treatment instructions, and continuity of care is not the standard of all primary care I expect. What made the situation worse was the communication afterward. The provider initially told me there was simply a delay in processing, despite apparently already knowing that the sample had been sent incorrectly and could not be processed. I was subsequently assured that I would receive a refund. After following up, I was told the refund was still being processed, only to later be informed by the corporate office that no refund would be provided after all. Mistakes happen, but misleading a customer, acknowledging the problem, promising a refund, and then reversing that decision is unacceptable. The way this situation was handled completely destroyed my confidence in this clinic. I would not recommend it.

During an annual physical, which is free with our insurance, my wife was prescribed a drug that "had" to be billed separately and as a "separate visit" when she was already there anyway. It was a 2 month prescription which she uses very rarely. It's been just over 6 months since it was prescribed. She asked for a repeat prescription which could easily be done over the phone or online but she has to go in now for another visit for that repeat prescription. Clearly they'll make money on the visit. So unnecessary. For the record, Lacey Hutchinson is very nice and professional, but the system of her office needs to be more flexible and easy to deal with.
