She fit into the mood of our party and was super fun! We were out moosing for a long time and were out during a pretty heavy thunder storm. I have no idea how she managed to spot 5 moose and 3 deer in the pitch dark, driving in the rain, operating the spotlights, and telling us lots of stories and facts about moose. There is a parking lot and we were able to find parking but I'm sure it gets full at peak times. We enjoyed the hike and the waterfalls. It was in late May so there were quite a few people there. It's a peaceful spot to relax, sit in the pool, and just enjoy nature. I'm glad my family and I got to visit during this trip!

When you park there is a kiosk to pay that takes credit cards. At the start of the trail there is a bathroom that is just a big outhouse. It was a little rough so I recommend not using it if you get sick easy. The hike is short and easy to the water. When you get there it is a little tough climbing over rocks and tree roots. We spend time in the water. It was not deep anywhere we were so not really swimming just cooling off or sun tanning on the rocks.

My husband found it while looking for something unique to do, and what I expected to be a fun winter activity turned into an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we could tell this wasn't just a business -- it's a passion. We loved interacting with both the puppies and the seasoned sled dogs who quite literally do much of the heavy lifting. During our sled ride through the White Mountains forest, we enjoyed the sights and learning. The dogs are treated like family, and are happy, affectionate, and genuinely excited to run. One of the most meaningful parts was talking with the mushers and learning how they came to Muddy Paw and how the dogs begin training. We also learned that when the dogs retire around 8-10 years old, many are adopted by families who've taken the tour. I'd be lying if I said my husband, kids, and I don't already have a list of dogs we hope to adopt someday -- we've even reached out to express interest! This is more than an excursion -- it's an experience filled with heart, care, and joy. I can't recommend it enough.

We had to fight with the wind but thankfully we won The prices have gone up ($36 per person) but we totally get it as they have to spend tons in maintenance. They do a great job at it. There are many nooks that you can stop at to appreciate the views and different vantage points. Pro tip: no matter how warm it is, make sure you bring a coat of some sort if you're going up. Better if you bring a winter hat. You're gonna need them.

Yes, you do travel the same roads all night but there's very good reason for that and the guides explained it to us. Maybe I'd feel differently about that if our tour hadn't been successful? However, I know they can't guarantee sightings and the reasoning for traveling the same areas made sense to me. We were able to see twins!! It was so cool, especially as a couple from the far south being tourists in the northern US for the first time! I also didn't feel like there was much else to do in the area at this time of night so you might as well go moose tracking! Make sure that you're there at the time they tell you to be for check in. At check in, you receive a card and that determines the order in which you board the bus. So, if you care about choosing your seat, you'll want to be there on time for a good boarding spot.

There was a stop at a convenience store in the middle. Convenience store was really nice (probably the highlight of the trip honestly) but they kept telling us over and over to thank the convenience store for staying open for us. Of course we were thankful but come on, they made out too since most of us bought something there and that's where the bus got its gas. Not only that, but if there wasn't a stop mid-way, we never would have took the tour. So why don't YOU thank the convenience store for staying open for YOUR tour? Also, maybe tell everyone once, not over and over like we are children??? We never saw any moose and although they state they have a 90% success rate (highly doubt that) and there's a chance you won't see any, in my opinion, they (as a business) should have offered us something. It didn't have to be money. It could have been a 50% off ticket for another tour or anything really. Think of it this way, we'll never be back. We live in MA and go to the White Mountains often. Someone asks us...we say...oh no, don't do that tour. Boom...you lost even more business. Not my problem but as a business, you might want to think through your policy's. There's not a person in the world who wants to spend $95 per couple to go on a tour of the same two or three streets for 3 1/2 hours and see nothing! The kicker was at the end when they had the gall to ask for a tip and put a flashing red sign that says something like, no tip is too big. Are you even kidding me???? Nice guys but maybe should think about their business model. Very important to know, you are NOT guaranteed to even be able to sit with your person or people you go with. Ridiculous! Also, supposedly doing this for years (I forget the exact amount but 30 plus comes to mind), and you don't know when the moose will come out (type of conditions) or do a little drive by before the tour? If we saw a moose, I'd feel the same way but at least I'd feel like I got something for my money. Meh...wasn't impressed. Don't waste your money and just go do the drive yourself. There's lots of maps on where to see moose in the area. We would have done this as well but thought we'd have better luck with the so called "experts"

Not only was our guide, CHRIS, great at the intro of how to make the intimidating machines work, but it was so helpful having someone show us were to make every turn and how to get to the best local scenic vistas. When they say show up 40 minutes early, you should. There were 3 other groups leaving around the same time as us, so lots of people had to be checked, sign paper work, finish getting geared up, sized for helmets, go thru the quick in office introduction to the weather and what we'd be doing on our tour, take the VERY short ride to the departure point, and finally learn how to operate the machines. They give you the full amount of your tour time ON the machines out in the forest, so show up early to make sure you get your money's worth. 100% recommend for beginners and anyone else looking to try snowmobiling in the area without the hassle of having to figure out the trail system themselves. And ask for CHRIS, he was relaxed, helpful, knowledgable AND a willing photographer ;)

We arrived at 11:15 for a 11:45 departure but weren't taken out until 12:45. We ended up having a great group who could all hold their own, and we were able to get some good trail riding in. Our guide Parker was totally chill with a good focus on safety. I'll definitely try to get him next time. It was a frustrating start but ended up being a great day. I'd go back, definitely.

My wife and I took the 4 hour train ride on a most beautiful June day. The sun was shining on the…read moretrain cars and everyone was in a good mood. The folks working for the Scenic Train were very friendly and helpful. The building and the train cars seem well maintained. They are clean and for the most part, comfortable. We took the comfort class because we wanted the A/C. The seats are in a restaurant booth configuration. However, if you are a larger person such as me, your belly will be pushed against the table for 4 hours. (My fault, not the train's) For most of the ride out you listen to a very nice narrator talk about the history of the area as you ride though people's backyards. The local children seem to enjoy the train and were in costume on their back deck waving to us on the train. We saw about 30 minutes of some very good views. There is a short stop at a tourist trap store before heading back the same way. (Use the restroom here, the ones on the train as smaller than a phone booth.) We did switch sides for the ride back and got to see the backyards of the houses on the other side of the tracks. The boxed lunch was a sandwich, a bag of chips, a whoopie pie, and a bottle of water. I have to say the sandwich was very good. The roll was soft, fresh, and flavorful. The bag of chips was not just a tiny bag, but a good size. The whoopie pie was very good. It was $20, overpriced, but at least it was quality. I really wanted to like this train ride but it turned out to be uncomfortable for such a long ride, too long, and not all that scenic.
