Very transparent, friendly, and they don't push service recommendations on you like other places in town. They'll tell you if something needs your attention and work with you on what to do. I think tire repair is one of few things they don't do--(just double check). Basically, if they worked on other auto brands--I'd be servicing all my vehicles here without question.

It is after a lot of time spent talking to GT Imports regarding my vehicle that I say this. I do…read morenot create this kind of review lightly. I took my car to GT Imports for one specific problem. It was hard to start when cold and needed multiple crankings to stay running. Then ran unstable for about a minute, then it would even out and run good. It would run great after that and would start fine after it was warmed up. A bad fuel pump was the assumption. They ran tests and confirmed the fuel pump was bad and needed replacing. He also informed me it needed new spark plugs, spark plug wires, brake master cylinder and brake booster. I told him the spark plugs had just been replaced a month before, but he insisted only a specific brand of plug would bring my car to its factory setting. I agreed to all the repairs since I wanted the car to be running as good as possible. The 1st fuel pump that he put on was DOA and would not work. A 2nd pump was ordered and installed. This took a couple weeks. Picked the car up and the original problem was still going on, but a little improved. He recommended replacing all fuel injectors and doing a fuel system cleanout to further address the problem. I agreed wanting the problem fixed completely. After these 2 repairs were made, I picked the car up and drove off. After driving for 20 minutes, the car went dead and would not start up easily. It ran unstable and seemed to be flooded. I got it back to GT Imports within an hour of picking it up. They checked it out and found the new injectors were malfunctioning feeding too much fuel. So they were replaced again and charged me a 2nd time! I have over $4000.00 invested in the car thru GT Imports. The car is still running poorly after all this work and they have now diagnosed something completely new. I will take my car to a new garage for repairs.

After telling me what the best course for repairs would be I was told it would be $1900 plus tax to replace 4 coil packs which I just replaced 4 months earlier but they said they were bad. I also needed some new clips due to age deteriorating plastic. This was what the two diagnostic fees said I needed. Well the next day the car still didn't work right. I was told that I could bring it back but there would be another diagnostic fee!!! No break, not even an I'm sorry we got it wrong. $2300 dollars out the window and I'm back where I started.

There are around 8-10 arcade cabinets and pinball machines lining the walls, all free to play, as well as retro consoles like an NES and Sega Dreamcast built into back hatch of a classic car. If you are just looking to relax, or get work done, there are couches, easy chairs, as well as a table with comfortable stools and chairs for working. Maybe best of all.. Free snacks. There was a basket of various chip and cookies bags, and a mini fridge of drinks. While all of that is NOT the main focus of why you are here, I appreciate the acknowledgement that, this part of life is not everyone's favorite thing. So making the customer as comfortable as possible while they wait, and not nickle and diming for things like playing a game or having a snack is a testament to that customer-centric focus. Anyway. Car stuff. You can tell these guys love working on cars, and that's the reason for them being here mainly while being able to make a living. The reason for my visit, is I had just recently bought a Volvo s60 PHEV and wanted an independent inspection before committing to keep it. Volvos, especially those with a hybrid system, require a trained eye so you can't trust just any shop to evaluate. Twin City Euro has at least 1 certified Volvo tech on staff, and were able to schedule me within my purchase window, so I came to them. They did a full evaluation of my car, and helped me notice a few relatively minor cosmetic things I had not seen at first (but didn't ultimately affect my purchase), including the most minute of windshield chips... which caught now can prevent a crack later (and be serviced by the place I purchased it free). Of course, they also took it for a drive and put it through it's paces mechanically, and checked for ongoing proper maintenance, ultimately giving it a clean bill of health. It put me at ease, and also made me know, I have found my shop of choice for when I need maintenance or repairs on this vehicle. I'll be back, and would recommend other European car owners look into them for their maintenance and repair needs.

After initially taking it to useless Flow Volkswagen (don't ever go there...for anything...), we took it to Twin City. And unlike Flow, who's mechanics must've trained on Tonka Toys, the guys at Twin City actually lifted the dern hood and actually put their hands on the engine. They were able to correctly diagnose the problem and sadly it was catastrophic engine failure. While disappointed, their owner offered a fair price for the car, and even told me he'd fix it up to help someone else out. Don't find many car shop owner willing to do that. Needless to say, the folks at Twin City won me over and I'll be bringing my newer used Volkswagen to them for it's regular oil change next month. On March 12th, I was trying to go to VA to surprise my dad for his birthday. Unfortunately, due to…read morecar trouble, so I thought, prevented me from getting on the road. A loud noise started the day before and proceeded to get louder on the day of my travels. I called John to get it checked out, but shortly after getting air put into my tires (elsewhere), the sound stopped. So, informing John, we thought the problem was resolved, until I proceeded a short distance on the beltway. The sound came back louder. Long story short, God allowed me to get to John and Justin at Old Town Auto Works on Reynolda Road, Winston Salem NC. They identified the problem immediately, finding that it was due to my dry rotten tires. One of which was on the verge of exploding. The issue couldn't be seen from the outside of the tire. Justin showed me how the fibers and the rubber had been worn off and practically bursting at the seam on the inside of my passenger tire. After our discussion, I'm thinking they were taking my car to install my spare tire, instead they installed a tire that was a replica tire of my tire from a junk vehicle they had at the shop. After inquiring of the cost, I was told there would be no fee. John and Justin stayed over time to help me, because the shop was officially closed by the time I reached them. By the time everything had registered in my brain of what they were saying to me and what was done, I left shop's parking lot in full fledge "Ugly Cry" mode. LOL!!! God, John and Justin basically saved my life that day. I am sooo grateful, words can not explain!!! This is just one of the many blessing that everyone at this auto shop has done for me and sooo many others! I highly recommend Old Town Auto Works to everyone. Genuinely, amazing service. A friend recommended Autobahn to me after 2 different mechanics could not solve a tricky problem…read morewith the heat on an older GLX 450. This was probably 3-4 years ago. They have earned the status of a "go to" mechanic. Several mentions of Kevin as the lead mechanic but wanted to give props to Doug as front end / service manager. They have tried to save me money by buying "second hand" parts from other reputable MB parts guys rather than paying the ridicuouly marked up new OEM replacements from Mercedes. As long as i have this car, it will be serviced at Autobahn!
