We can turn something as…read moresimple as grabbing breakfast into an adventure filled with laughter, conversation, and, of course, great food. This time, our morning led us to Pan & Coffee, a bakery and café I picked after spotting its impressive 4.7-star Yelp rating. Pan & Coffee is located on Stone Oak Parkway in San Antonio and proved to be every bit as charming as we expected. From the moment we walked in, the café felt warm, inviting, and bright. The open, airy layout, high ceilings, and oversized windows bathed the space in natural light. First, the bakery case immediately steals your attention. Rows of beautifully crafted pastries behind perfectly constructed glass cases practically beg you to take one or three home. Smile. Their selection includes flaky croissants, colorful conchas, sticky monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, fruit-filled pastries, and other freshly baked treats. My brother and I couldn't resist ordering a cinnamon roll and a lemon pastry, and both were absolutely delicious. The pastries were generously sized, making them perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself. For breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast while my brother chose one of their breakfast sandwiches. Both dishes arrived with generous portions and were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Pan & Coffee also shines when it comes to its beverage menu. In addition to traditional espresso drinks, they offer creative specialty lattes infused with Mexican-inspired flavors, including the Dulce de Leche Latte, Brown Sugar Latte, Café de Olla, and the unique Concha Latte. I got the Brown Sugar Latte, which was warm and super flavorful. Great bonding with my big brother and first time experience at Pan & Coffee.

The latter I waited I would say at least 25 minutes for. No, that's not a typo. You could argue I should have asked for a refund or just left, but I already felt committed at this point. I watched them batch up 10 drinks at a time, work on them a bit, walk away, come back and do the next step, then walk away again. Batching drinks makes sense for an order. It doesn't make sense for the whole restaurant. People who ordered 15 minutes after me were getting their stuff at the same time. Drinks at the end of batch were fresh and hot, drinks at the front were of course sitting for that entire time. I could see they were busy, and I prefer to not give people a hard time, but at minute 20 I finally asked if my drink was still being made. I got a shoulder shrug, then she checked and then it was finished and handed to me. No apology for the wait. Apparently I should have asked 15 minutes prior Again, the pastries and coffees are fine. None of them are worth the time spent waiting for them.

I ordered the BLAT sandwich but instead of bacon, I replaced with cheese. This came with chips & a cookie. The bread I wanted focaccia & I wanted the half soup half sandwich but since the focaccia is, according to employee baked at a bigger portion I couldn't do that. So ended up ordering a side of their poblano soup. I should have asked what the spice level on that was as it was a bit too spicy for me. The sandwich was delicious! The chips were yummy & wow that cookie was amazing! Very rich, did not skimp out on the size of it nor the chocolate chips! For drink I had a cappuccino which was okay. There is a self-serve water & tea station right before the dining area including lemon wedges which I appreciated. I would not hesitate to come back!!

The restaurant itself is a little small but has a private room for reservations and the decorations are cute and kitschy. It's definitely a place to host events like birthday parties and girls' afternoon out. The tea was great - I liked that they let us choose two flavors and kept our teacups full. The food was great; I really enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich and the brookies. My only complaints are that the A/C was either not on or not cooling the restaurant much, we were sweating indoors. The restrooms are also located outside in a shared building with the other businesses, but theyre like regular restrooms otherwise. I definitely recommend this place if you are wanting to try out high tea for the first time or if you're wanting to take your kids out - the prices are very reasonable and there's fresh baked pastries and breads to take home available as well :)

From now on, every time I have a cold brew, it will be compared to this cup of coffee i just had. You have set my new standard. My wife also was very happy with what she ordered. She got the liberty bell with some modifications and got mad me for not taking her sooner. They also have merchandise in store that I definitely bought. As a Veteran, former MP, a place like this is right up my alley. But to have a product that brings me comfort is why I would come back. I wish there was an actual location near me, but the products found in stores will do just fine.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how spotless and inviting the space was. It truly shows they prioritize cleanliness and comfort. The staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making me feel welcomed. The coffee was absolutely fantastic. What really stood out to me is their pride in supporting our military and veterans. It's inspiring to see a business that not only serves exceptional coffee but also gives back to those who have served our country. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning soon!
