There are a lot of fun choices, including several unique options you don't see at most coffee spots, which makes it worth exploring beyond your usual order. I kept it simple and went with a red eye, and it delivered--good, solid coffee with the extra kick you want when you're in the middle of a workday. We came here looking to try a new coffee place, unfortunately Brew is just OK. The size of the coffee they give you is TINY!! Look at my boyfriend's hand for comparison. It's about 4 sips for $5. Pretty disappointing as they only offer one size. We had the avocado toast which was good, but, for $11 it's not quite worth the price. We spent almost $40 here for the two of us (2 drinks and 2 avocado toasts) and it is NOT worth the price point. Bigger sizes are definitely needed for the coffees. Finally a coffee bar in Raleigh that the hubs and I can truly rally behind. Truthfully, I been struggling to love the coffee beans and brews in Raleigh, but BREW Coffee Bar didn't give me the "it'll do" effect that I've been experiencing as of late. Lately, the coffee scene for me has been not bad, not great, just a tad bit better than average-- but not worth a return visit. I was beginning to think I'd maxed myself out so-to-speak. We've just been coffee bar crawling hoping to hit it big at some point. Well, I'm pleased to report that I loved my honey lavender latte at BREW, and the hubs commented favorably on his iced mocha as well. The volume is low and the place is generally pretty clean, with some coffee shop crumbs! I had a regular latte and tasted my friend's dirty chai. Both were ok! My honest opinion is that I've had better but if I were in the neighborhood, I'd stop by to give the drinks another chance. However.. The drinks didn't score BREW -1 star. The service was the ick factor. As someone who frequents coffee shops and gets really excited about good coffee and experiences, I appreciate all types of cafes and personalities. Mixed feelings about BREW - let's sort it out. First and foremost, the service was 5 stars. I asked the barista about the seasonal strawberry syrup they had listed. He was super helpful in making suggestions on what I may like and how to incorporate it. We decided on an iced latte with strawberry and white chocolate. He asked me what level of sweetness I liked as well, and I said middle of the road would be good. He was super kind and I really appreciated his willingness to make solid suggestions and he was just overall very pleasant! After looking through the photos, it seems like the iced lattes that were ordered to enjoy at the store are maybe bigger than the to-go option. I don't think I was asked what size I wanted... but this was the tiniest coffee I've ever seen. After all the ice, I feel like it was less than 8 ounces. I drank the whole thing before I was out of the parking lot. It was still like $7 or $8, with the oat milk swap which I felt like was CRAZY for a tiny coffee. I normally go for like a 20 oz and the price point is usually around what I paid for this. I ended up stopping to get another coffee somewhere else because it just wasn't enough. The espresso in the coffee had a very nice flavor, but I wish I could've tasted the flavor more. Maybe there was less syrup since I said I preferred it not super sweet, but I really wanted to taste the strawberry and it just wasn't there. It's a really nice ambiance and the service was nice, but I don't know that I'd make it a point to come back. This was my first time at this location. It seems McNeill Point is crowded no matter what time of day it is (9:30 a.m.), but I found a parking spot a ways down. The inside is open, bright and inviting with a good number of seats. The barista greeted me when I approached the counter and answered some questions I had. Since I'd already had cold brew that morning I went with the watermelon mint spritzer. They steep fresh watermelon to make the syrup. It didn't have too much mint flavor, but was still refreshing. Needing to do some work, I grabbed a table by the windows and looked like there were power outlets available at most, fortunately. The only issue I had was that it was freezing! I had goosebumps the entire time. There was a steady stream of people for most of the time I was there, but it seemed to be slowing down a little when I left close to noon. read more

Why is it so hard to find good coffee? So many coffee places have great food and crappy coffee, which always seems backwards to me. I know it may sound strange, but I go to a single origin coffee establishment for the coffee, the food is just an added plus to me. BREW coffee gets it! I ordered an Ethiopian pour over and one drink in I was already thinking, I need to remember this place. The coffee is amazing, I drink it black and it has a natural sweetness, some fruity notes, especially strawberry. So if you are looking for good coffee when you go to a coffee place - you won't be sorry if you go here! Just ordered latte and bagel. When using card to pay, the cashier went ahead and added their own tip before I paid. I could see she was taking her time before flipping the screen for my signature. I was really tempted to not tip as a result and say something but held off. Not good form. Don't do that. Don't like feeling like being played just to get a cup of coffee. Stopped in to kill some time while I waited for my dog to get groomed. It was my first time at this location and as soon as I opened the door I could hear smooth jazz blaring through the speakers and the smell of fresh coffee! Nothing like it! I ordered a small drip coffee, of course with oatmilk and a cinammon roll. The atmosphere is open and bright which makes for a chill space to get work done or even just zone out to escape reality for a bit. My coffee was delicious and HOT, just how I like it. I was looking for a place where I can just sit and have coffee and do some work on a weekend. I stumbled into BREW and it was just a perfect spot! The latte was pretty large and tasty, the space was opened, and it was very nice! I went around 2pm on a Saturday and it was not as packed but around 4 when I left it got a little more busy. I was so happy when I heard BREW was opening on this side of town. The Midtown area really only has two Starbucks that are super close by. I'm happy that BREW came in to switch things up. I was suprised by their interior, it is very bright, white, and modern. Not as cozy as their location in Seaboard Station. They are locked right on the corner across from Simple Greek, they don't have a sign up yet so unless you are looking for them you won't see them. The baristas were very friendly! I didn't see a food menu, but I may have just missed it. I really hope they carry their peanut butter granola parfait like at Seaboard Station. I ordered an iced chai and it was really good. No gross waterdown tea here, the spices were strong, and overall the drink was flavorful. Parking is easy! I look forward to heading in many more times! read more

Had to write a quick review bc this place slaps. Nice vibes walking in. I think there's a cat that frequently visits bc one of the baristas went out to pet a cat that looked like it was here for its daily rubs. Lovely. Walked up to the counter to order and the girl feigned shock and shrieked, "Would you mind putting a mask on?!?" I said, "No one in here is wearing masks." Most were busily pecking on tablets or laptops. Great place, would recommend. I had a drip coffee, cortado, and a peanut butter bar. The drip coffee was meh, but let's be honest, drip coffee is never great. $1 refills though, so that's nice. Cortado was good. This place takes their espresso and pour overs seriously, so you won't be disappointed if you go that route. Decent selection of baked goods and other food as well. Aesthetically, the place is stunning. They're going for that ultra-modern everything-is-white look that a lot of places are doing, but it often feels stiff and industrial. There isn't a lot of plug ins for laptops so I do wonder how they will handle the people who want to plug in and work. Perhaps that's not the intention for this location. The vibe is mid century modern style with a neutral color palette. It's well lit with natural light from the large glass walls. I hope they put some seating outside on the pavement to the left of the business. I could see it being a neighborhood hang out or an after work stop. Come check it out for yourself.
