I've been here once before a LONG time ago. I remember it not being very memorable... not bad but not amazing. But the festive Christmas decor drew me in to try it again as I had been seeing several posts on social media about this place. I went with a friend on a Wednesday night mid-December and it was very busy. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long. We each had 1 cocktail and shared an appetizer. I got "How The Minze Stole Christmas" and she got "...and a Whiskey in a Pear Tree". She liked hers but I did not. OMG was mine M I N T Y. And not good minty either. Like toothpaste minty. I was gonna try to "deal with it" and drink it but there was no choking that thing down. I told the waiter and he got me a different cocktail; which I appreciate. I tried Rudolph's Hot Toddy but asked to have ice added as I don't care for hot beverages. I visited this establishment along with my mother for the first time to have evening rations the 14th of August 2025. My mother ordered spaghetti and meatballs. She was happy with the spaghetti. I ordered "The Standard" which was a cheeseburger. It was one of the best burgers I had at least in quite a while, st least as good as Red Robin. The burger was so good it was worth the diarrhea that came later. The fries were pretty good albeit with a bit much seasoning. We both had "wooder" to drink. The quality of the food was the best part of my visit. The rest of the experience was not as good. The men's washroom was reasonably clean but it lacked any paper towels. I consider the lack of paper towels to be a sanitary issue as I use paper towels to not only shut the faucet off after I wash my hands but also to open the door. So I am deducting one point I have a bone to pick with at the appearance of at least some if not all of the guys who work at this establishment. I noticed that the guys who were working wore their shirts untucked. I consider that to be very unprofessional. I am OCD about that . I am dinging this establishment one point for employees wearing shirts untucked. After my food was served, I noticed that there was no cheese on the burger. So I had the burger sent baçk and the issue was corrected. I am dinging this establishment one point as the burger should have been done correctly the first time. I asked for more "wooder" and it took quite awhile before more was brought. I'm dinging this establishment another point. If I was to assign a letter grade like is done in school this establishment would get an F. read more

This is my kind of place. Just a shame that it's on the other end of the county. This is the perfect place to come when your group is in the mood for different kinds of food. They have a wide variety of options with something to please everyone. The environment is very casual with a bar area and sports on the tvs. My friend had their acclaimed hamburger and my wife tried the massive "not yo mama's" grilled cheese. I was in a pizza mood and had the 3 meat combo. Everyone was happy with their food. From Brew to Alehouse you expect a great beer selection and they deliver. They have a wide variety with some real rare finds. But don't worry if you're not a beer fan. They have a full bar with lots of specials. Good attentive service. I'm so sad because we love the food here and have had great service in the past, but at this point I don't think we'll come here again. This review is 100% about the (teenage girl) hostess. We have now gone here on two occasions and had to put up with her apathy. The first time we didn't have a reservation, so that was our bad. I do think she could have been much more friendly and also offered to put us on a list for a table with an estimated wait time, but she just kind of said they were full and that was it. This time we made a reservation, but when we arrived (about 7 min before the reservation time), the restaurant still did not have a table available for us. She basically shrugged her shoulders and was like "Yeah, it's kinda crazy today." She said if we wanted we could wait for a table outside. I asked about the wait time, and she liked annoyed but said about 30 minutes. The manager needs to train this employee better on her customer service and also how to honor reservations (or don't take reservations if you can't honor them). read more

Brew Kitchen Ale House is a popular local establishment in Los Alamitos for a reason. I stopped by yesterday with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful experience. Our server was extremely hospitable and overall provided us with top notch service! The drinks here are on point and I'd very much recommend their 'Watermelon Jolly Rancher Slushy'. A friendly guest who was seated at the table next to us recommended their Fish Tacos so my boyfriend ordered those and I opted for their Chicken Parmesan. It came with a side of spinach as well and I loved it! My boyfriend really enjoyed his Fish Tacos as well so I'd recommend that as well to anyone dropping by for a bite! Food was really incredible! We loved the mixture of flavors, definitely unique! We had Nacho Mamas grilled cheese and Sancho burger were delicious! Service was personable, pleasant and met every question and request as if we were the only ones there. Great fun ambiance, with outside seating available too. This place is incredibly underwhelming with terrible service. We ordered our drinks and it took 30 minutes to get an old fashion. The server forgot to take our food order...I had to remind her. Food items were missing things, fajitas were way over prices and the small amount of meat comes on an insanely huge pile of onions and peppers. Like a ridiculous amount. The worst experience in a restaurant I have ever experienced. First, it took us 1 hour, I repeat ONE HOUR to get 4 cocktails and 1 beer. Our cocktails finally came, then it took another 15 minutes for the beer to come. Then, on top of that our food took an hour and Half to come. We were all so hungry, we ate our kids leftover food because they ordered when we ordered appetizers. The German pretzel was half cold and our calamari never came. They didn't clear any plates and they even forgot to enter one of our meals so that never came. There was no manager and apparently nobody knew how to take anything off our bill which is BS. We left no tip, but honestly, they should have just comped our whole bill. The food was good, but we ate at the bar next to the service bar where the servers pick up their drinks for the guests. There was liquid where we were sitting and the bartender didn't bother to wipe it down and even placed our menus in the wetness. The entire time we sat there, there was strips of bacon just resting on a napkin on top of the bar mat. Eww! How about putting it in a container and in the fridge until you need a strip for one of your signature drinks. Some guests left the bar and right away a new couple wanted to sit at the bar, and the bartender handed a dry towel to a bus boy to wipe it down and I could still see crumbs from the previous guests on the bar. It needed a sanitary wet towel to help wipe down the bar properly. I also just didn't find the bartender's professional hearing talk about different people and such. Thank you! read more

Came to the Ale House with my family we are visiting from AZ. What a treat we had in store for us. We're greeted by the owner and our server about the same time. Started off with some bacon wrapped dates and sriracha wings. They were fantastic. You can see the plates are mostly empty, had to get a pic before they were gone. My wife and I had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza that had the best crust and sauce I've ever had. Delicious. My family had the pork chops and a burger and both said they were awesome as well. The server did a great job and the bartender new how to pour a great drink. The locals and visitors have a nice establishment to get some great food and drinks and catch a game on the TV. It's nice to see smaller restaurants survive after Covid and continue to give great service despite not always getting enough staff at all times.
