I came last night and it was very busy. Understandable because there was a boat parade outside. Despite that the waitress was friendly. The cream of crab was amazing. But the "crabby" burger had no crab to speak of and was very dry. Drinks were okay. I will probably come back on a less crowded night next time so hopefully the food quality will improve. read more

Sunday Brunch! I came here after leaving Ocean City for the weekend for a quick brunch. The inside is very nice and spacious, they have an outside sitting area if you decided you want to sit by the water. Our server came right over with some menus. I ordered the big river which includes pancakes, sausage, potatoes, bacon (add-on), cheesy eggs, and a mimosa. Apparently, you buy one mimosa and you get one free, which is pretty cool. The mimosa was good, freshly squeezed oranges. They also give you assorted muffins and bread while you wait for your order. The muffins were really good. Now to the entree, where did we go wrong. I don't know how you can mess up pancakes but this place did. I was super excited for pancakes only to be disappointed, the pancakes didn't look like your normal pancakes and the taste was terrible!!! It had a terrible aftertaste like what did I just eat. Super disappointing, now to the cheesy eggs, I wanted scrambled cheesy eggs and it came out runny and the cheese was on the top of a folded omelette. Talk about frustration, anywho I decided to try the sausage and it was really good. The sausage, bacon, and potatoes were the best thing on the entree. Needless to say, I only ate the sausage, bacon, and potatoes. The server was very nice and attentive. My friends meals were really good, I should have stuck with the crab benedict! Found ourselves in Salisbury last Saturday. The weather was perfect. Lunch at Brew River was excellent. Relaxing and enjoyable. I remembered a few years ago having something called an orange crush. I asked the waitress, "do you have an orange crush?" She replies, "we have an orange crush, a lemon crush, a grapefruit crush, darling, we can crush anything." Haha. I had 2 orange crushes because they were amazing with fresh OJ and it was warm and we were just relaxing. Great lunch, super service, right on the water views. Amazing! read more

I only gave two stars because we have been here before and loved it. The service and jerk chicken was wonderful. However, we went tonight and sat in the bar area. There was no one else in the booths or tables when we arrived. Waited 10 minutes for someone to come give us menus and take a take a drink order. No one even acknowledged us. I have not been to Brew River since probably 2005. I came here tonight to get together with a girlfriend and have a few drinks and catch up. I moved away from the Eastern shore about 15 years ago, but I come home once a year for about a week to get together with friends and family. My girlfriend and I decided to meet to have a few orange crushes. When you get there you are required to wear a mask upon entering. If you go through security, They patch you down, and then you pay your entry (if there is one). We got there about 9:00 PM in Thursday. They had decent social distancing guidelines as far as the tables are concerned. But that's about it. There are lines at the bar that you have to stand in an order to get a drink. My girlfriend and I sat at a table and ordered drinks. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal!! She never missed a beat as far as making sure that we always had our drink refills on time. I gave this place three stars because the scene here is very young. It is definitely not the type of place that you want to come for drinks when you're in your late 30s or older. The crowd here is definitely in their 20s. So it was kind of annoying to be around a bunch of obnoxious kids who were drunker than hell and not practicing their social distancing guidelines. I came another night during my visit and it was definitely more crowded and less of a restriction with the distancing. Also I gave it three stars because their prices for drinks are absolutely ridiculous. The second time that I came during my visit I ordered one drink and two shots and my bill was almost $40! We didn't order any food so I don't have any feedback on that. So I wrote this review after not having eaten all day. New restaurant for us. Expected even mediocre food to taste great. Super disappointed. Coconut shrimp huge except tons of salty breading. No sauce to dip them in except ketchup. French fries (waffle) were totally gross. First order cold. Replacement order had some sort of crunchy lumps on them. Taste was really bad, as in inedible. Coconut muffins were good. Outside seating was lovely, on the water. Bad as the food was it was surpassed by the overwhelming smell of weed constantly drifting by our table. Best crush drinks ever ! We only had appetizers but they were great. The service was friendly and fast. We sat outside on the river and it was very pleasant. The place was crowded but didn't slow the service down. All the meals coming out looked great. This place has poor reviews on yelp but great reviews on trip advisory. I'll definitely come back. My boyfriend and were visiting his cousin and wife who happen to live in Salisbury. They suggested Brew River because we were in the mood for seafood. I absolutely love how is sits overlooking a beautiful view of the beautiful water. Now, let's get to the good stuff... Dining Area....There are two dining options; inside the restaurant or outside on the deck. Both options are equipped with a full bar and plenty of seating. It was the perfect day so we opted to sit outside and indulge in some great food while soaking up the sun. Menu... there was a large variety of food options. They have everything from fried chicken to crab legs. We opted for the all you can eat crab leg deal which I think was $47 or so. It came with chicken and a side. I passed on my side because I didn't want to fill up before my crab legs. My boyfriend loved the chicken!!! Service... our waiters name was David (at least that's what I think it was). He was great! He was very attentive and patient with our needs. We did, however, have a problem with the lack of urgency when it came to preparing and serving our food. The wait time was ridiculously long. We inquired more than once about our order and why it was talking so long. In the meantime, we just ordered more drinks! Food... the crab legs were to die for! They were absolutely amazing. By the time they arrive, I didn't care how long the wait had been because they more than made of for that with the taste. After the first batch, every order after arrived more promptly than the first order. My boyfriend had the chicken and he couldn't stop ranting and raving about how good it was. He ate mine and his!! He is a chicken lover with high expectations and they got his approval. I enjoyed just about everything other than the slow service. Even though the service was slow, I didn't feel the need to take away a star because the food was great! If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely return. read more

I got tickets to see Ballyhoo here April 6th, and drove down from NYC with my buddy to spend the weekend in Salisbury, MD. Naturally, we decided to eat here since the show was also here later on in the back room. It's a decent sized place, 3 seperate rooms with 2 bars inside. Nice outside seating area on the water with a dock bar. The food was mediocre, crab on almost everything but it is Maryland and that's their thing. Ordered the crab dip waffle fries. The dip was ok. Fries were inedible. Overfried & hard. For my entree I ordered a steak cooked medium, no complaints here besides it beng a lil rare but still delicious. Came with regular fries that were good & the "vegetable of the day", being mushy green beans. Had to ask the waitress for napkins three times & still never got them. Pretty ridiculous since it wasn't so busy where we were. Now we get to the worst part. The band went on around 11:30. Kinda late but whatever it's Ballyhoo & they're awesome. The atmosphere/vibe is ok there. Band goes on & we get a drink, took 10 minutes with 3-4 girls bartending. Asked if they had Dewars she said no then I asked what scotches do they have. She said that bar in the back was "limited" and they didn't have any. Odd but that happens sometimes. Asked for Jameson & ginger & that they had. We walked to the opposite side of the bar, & when I look over, I see Johnnie Black, Crown Royal, and another scotch I forget the name. Obviously she has no clue what is what. We have our drinks & go to order more. This is where we start getting pissed. Takes about 20-30 minutes each time to get a drink after our first. You put your hand up and/or make eye contact with them & they ignore you. Money in hand, not waiving it around. Even though we tip well (I used to bartend so I get it), still everytime we were waiting about 20 minutes plus for drinks. Went to the inside room to see if they're any better, they were just as bad. Maybe they don't like serving well dressed customers or something? We had button down shirts & jeans, half the people there har t shirts & shorts, & hats on. Real classy. I guess if you don't look like you bang your sister, you won't get served there. Because of all this waiting for drinks we missed most of the show. What a waste driving 3 1/2 hours to see one of my favorite bands, and have to deal with horrendous service at this place. If we ever go back to the area to see the band, we're definitely not eating here and definitely pre-gaming hard in the hotel room. I guess being from NYC with people who know what they're doing is a major factor when you go south...? Had high hopes for this spot & was let down majorly. read more

Our server tonight was Autumn!! She was amazing!! She was patient and kind and made sure we had everything in a timely manner! We explained to her that we come in about once a month but she by far has been the best. She never got frustrated with me when I couldn't decide what to order. I asked her for suggestions and she gave me a list!! The place was packed but never once did we feel neglected or over looked. We told her my sister's allergies and she made sure that there was no coconut near or around our food or drinks. If no one has told you Autumn in my opinion is a great asset to your team!! read more

If it wasn't for me being there to see friends in a band I would have turned and walked out. We sat down took forever to find a waitress. Then when we finally did get a waitress we had to keep looking for every time we wanted a drink. Then what really shocked me there were 15 people sitting at different tables at 7:15 listening to the band. The band ended at 8. All the waitresses that was working at the tables told the customers at 7:15 they had to close our tabs out so they could get their tips because they were done. Now we left right after that but what was everyone else suppose to do for the next 45 minutes for drinks. Not impressed at all!!! Hell of a way to serve customers if you ask me!!! read more

I am in love with these seafood restaurants by the water. It's so relaxing and filled with fun. I was a little bothered with a sign informing motorists to pay for parking when it turns out the machine accepting money either was out of service or the operation is obsolete. A large group of us got here around 3pm. We decided to dine out on the deck since it was a nice day. We took a stab and asked if happy hour could start at 3pm instead of 4pm since it was so many of us. The manager's decision was that the time could not be changed. That's understandable because some happy hour prices are automatically locked in the system and will not allow someone to select the happy hour price. We decided to order a few drinks a wait it out. When 4pm rolled around and we started to order some happy hour specials, the waitress told us happy hour was only available in the bar section and not on the outside dining section. It bothers me when restaurants limit WHERE you can get the happy hour specials and confine it only to a small area. We had to receive a quick tutorial from the waitress on which areas of the establishment were considered "bar" or "happy hour only" sections. Luckily, we found a cozy area in the happy hour section and moved there. I was bummed out because the Draft Craft Beers said they were $5.00. When I asked for a Dogfish Head 60min IPA, the waitress told me that wasn't one of the choices available for $5.00. I was upset because I wanted to know why they would have false advertising like that. If the draft beer special is only limited to 2 kinds, then they should write that on their menu. I got an order of Old Bay wings paired with ranch dressing and blue cheese. I'd like to note that the food came out super late. We had to wait at least 30 minutes. The wings were amazing!!! Hot and delicious and more notably, fresh and not that frozen taste. The ranch dressing and blue cheese wasn't runny either. I also got the Crab Dip Pretzels. They were amazing as well. The crab dip was super creamy, busting with cheese, and delightful to the mouth. I think they should add a little more crab meat to their crab dip. I saw someone order the cream of crab soup. They said it was pretty good, but it wasn't filled to the top of the bowl. The waitress didn't bring any crackers either, so she had to go back and get some. The fried pickles were battered up and fried really good, but they have to add a little more salt to the pretzel. read more

Enjoyed lunch with my Salisbury student on a weekday. We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the river and our server was truly lovely. My shrimp salad was delicious (big shrimp--eat with a fork big--not those tiny things) and his burger was excellent and the fries are perfect. Staff was friendly and attentive but not overboard, service was fantastic, and the prices are more than fair. It's a great place to enjoy a meal mid-day. Highly recommend! read more

This was my second time going to Brew River and I decided to switch it up. I got the salad with the house honey mustard, crab nachos, and the oysters with the shrimp salad. The salad was great as the dressing really sets it off. Extremely fresh and a nice portion as well. The crab nachos left a bit to be desired. It seemed as if a good portion of the chips had been sitting out too long. If you're expecting traditional nachos, this isn't necessarily it. They essentially poured the crab dip on the nachos with a few other ingredients, but didn't bother spreading it to all or many of the other chips. The oysters seemed like they were fried well, but I just don't think I was a fan. The shrimp salad came with a lot of shrimp, but I wasn't a fan of that either. Elisha was a great waitress and extremely friendly! I'll go back and get the crab legs again, which are THE BOMB. read more

There was a woman in shorts cut into a thong (i wish i was kidding) sipping on a bottle of alcohol, smoking a blunt. Server was awful. Brought 2 of our guests the wrong drinks and gave attitude when she had to get the correct ones. I wouldn't recommend this place. Looks nice from the outside but this ain't it. Salad came without the dressing..server asks "would you like dressing?" Lol it was so bad it was funny by the end of the night. Two of us had the seafood Alfredo. It was pretty good but the shrimp was overcome and had a weird taste. Scallops were delicious. Baked potato was very dry. I am pretty sure you go here for the atmosphere and the pre-dinner bread options. The alternative is the seafood, and if you don't eat seafood you are getting cold and bland food. Everyone I was with seemed happy with their meals - and I enjoyed the company I was with. Additionally, the waitress was very attentive and knew what the menu was offering. I will say it felt like two COMPLETELY different locations between the bar and restaurant sides. We sat on the restaurant side, but when I took a look at the bar - there was just no consistency or flow in design. We are locals and my father in law wanted to have his 88th Birthday Dinner here. We had a group of 9 adults and 3 kids which i know can be a challenge even outside of COVID. However, we waited 30 minutes for our drinks that barely had ice in them, no lemon for iced tea, one drink from the bar took about 40 minutes. When it came time for the food to come out we kept getting visits from the waitress telling us the kitchen was "backed up" and it would be another 10-15 minutes. This happened twice. Our reservation was for 430 pm ...it was 6pm before we got our meals. 4 orders of crab cakes were inedible (if you are used to eating a good crabcake) because they were so full of shells and literally underdone and so full of filler. Mac and cheese was COLD. Prime rib way too full of fat. Baked potato was cold and no butter or sour cream or salt and pepper on the table. The whole meal was a huge disappointment for such a special occasion. The tables were covered with brown paper over top their linen tablecloths....as if you were eating at a crab house...just ridiculous. The floors were absolutely filthy, chairs were dirty, menus were dirty. People stumbling in from the Dock Bar to use the restrooms was special too.... If you're in Salisbury, Brew River is a must! Located on the wicomico river, you'll enjoy the beachy vibes inside and out. My family and I had oysters & a crab pretzel to start. Then we all got sandwiches (crab, shrimp salad, mahi tacos, jerk chicken) that were all delicious. Washed it all down with ice cold orange crushes. We are quite the orange crush snobs and really enjoyed them here. We ended the night with dessert which was just insane. Save room for dessert. Do it. Service was impeccable too. There's a live band (quite good) which attracts a crowd; you can barely get in through the front entry doors. Would I go back there? I don't quite see why the reviews are what they are for this restaurant. Maybe the people came in on the busiest night of the week and it took a little longer to get to them.
