Both of us were intrigued by the "Poke it Out Bowl," with Coconut Mild Marinated Ahi Tuna. It was everything we anticipated. Delicious! Our server was prompt and checked in on us regularly to see if we wanted something else, without being intrusive. Food was exceptional. I really wanted to give this place a five, but I couldn't because the service was soooooooo exceptionally slow. I had the Cheese Quake, Caesar Salad and GF Cheese pizza. Awesome! I don't think it was staffing....plenty of busers. Was it short waiter staffed or a slow kitchen? The restaurant needs to figure it out. 90 minutes for water salads and entrees is long when the house wasn't packed on a Saturday night. Definitely be back next time in town. Delicious food! The pretzel sampler appetizer: yummy 3dips with 5-6huge pretzels! Creamy crab dip, French onion dip, and beer cheese! Great proportions:) I enjoyed a small Caesar Salad. Not much on croutons, but homemade and tasty! Their version of Caesar dressing was yum too! Spacious indoor area- plenty of tables / booths, big bar area. I made a reservation, just in case since it is summer. We arrived early about 15 minutes but were sat right away. Service was ok to good. He was a bit busy everywhere a lot of tables & helping serve, so maybe 4 out of 5 stars for that part. Overall, yum, delicious, enjoy the ambiance & food. We really enjoyed Evolution. It was a great find as we drove through the Eastern Shore from Virginia Beach. It's big and has a nice outdoor area. There is plenty of parking. Service was friendly. We each got a sandwich and split the Brussels sprouts. The sprouts were addictively good. Our sandwiches were good as well, especially my smoked pork sandwich. We had leftovers, which heated up well. I sample the Rise Up stout and it was smooth and coffee-forward, which I loved. I'd be happy to stop at Evolution anytime. read more

Oct. 2025 My wife and I were in the area and stopped in for lunch. They have a huge outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. We sat at the bar -- they brew their own beers here, and on Saturdays they offer free tours. We ordered our drinks while looking over the menu. My wife had a cheese pizza with garlic. She said it was okay but probably wouldn't order it again. I had the Cuban sandwich, which I've ordered a few times here. It was very good with a good amount of ham and pork, though the bread was a little on the soggy side this time -- it happens occasionally. The French fries were hand-cut and fried perfectly, as always. Overall, it's a good place to stop in for lunch. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. I went into the restaurant to sit down and have a relaxing meal on a less than busy Thursday night. While I eaten here many times, I was definitely disappointed this time. The service or lack thereof was not what one would come to expect as a community hangout for patrons who want to go out and have a good time while enjoying a nice tasting meal. I went in and stopped to the hostess stand and I thought things are pretty slow tonight, I should get service in a decent amount of time...and a I should have. The hostess asked which seating I preferred and that was great, but otherwise didn't smile or seem super hospitable. She sat me at my table and I waited 15 minutes for someone to come over and introduce themselves and take my order. Once others around me, who got seated well after me started getting acknowledged and getting their orders taken I was saddened by the lack of hospitality, professionalism and just common courtesy to even ask have you been helped yet ma'am. I finally got up and orderd To Go, because I got the feeling I wasn't really welcomed or valued to say the least. They ruined my relaxing dinner and seemed to care less. I was told my To Go pizza would take more than 25 minutes...truly sad! I had intended to order an appetizer, a nice upscale beverage and wonderful looking dinner entre option...but they messed up that opportunity! I've eaten at at least three of the Southern Boy concepts establishments over many years, but this was the worst service ever. With all the new restaurants in the area, many that are surrounding them and or nearby...you think they would try to do better. read more

We were driving to Virginia to visit family. We had our dog with us and wanted a place to eat that was dog friendly. Evolution Brewing has an absolutely fantastic outdoor seating area! Really built up nicely. Our waitress was extremely friendly and professional. The food took a while to come out but that was ok because we were enjoying a break from driving. My pulled pork sandwich was tasty but wasn't served at optimal temperature. As a New Yorker, I wasn't overly impressed by the pizza that my daughter had. The side Caesar salads my wife and daughter had seemed good. I haven't drank alcohol in years but if I did, this would definitely be the place to be. Awesome tap list! I've enjoyed the beer for many years at different events and bars. My first time at the Public House was very enjoyable. Bartender was very friendly and answered questions about the best wings. He suggested Thai Chili and he was on point. Sweet and spicy was the perfect blend for EV #3. Only critique was the wings needed more sauce. My visit was during an event and there was limited access but it appears there is a nice outdoor space and large space beyond the bar area. I'll be back for the full experience. read more

We had lunch delivered to work and EVO is across the street . Food is not hot or warm . Reheated fries . I found the presentation of the cheese burger aesthetically unappealing and tasting blah . Under seasoned burger...See pic. . The smallest slice of red onion you have ever seen. No pop of color to be seen . No napkins for delivery order. My father and I went in here to eat after the Salisbury lacrosse game. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the bartender. From the moment the bartender approached us we got a bad vibe from him. He asked if we were drinking, and my father responded "I am not, but he is". The bartender then said "I'm gonna need to see some ID". As a 26 year old I don't get carded very often, but I produced my ID and gave it to him. After he looked at it for a minute and started to rub it and bend it, he put it on the bar and began to fill my father's soda up. I ordered the beer I wanted, but he did not acknowledge me, I proceeded to say it again. He then walked away and started talking about me to the barback. At this point my father and I were debating getting up and leaving as it was extremely strange and off putting. He came back and asked me "Are you a cadet?", I was confused about the question, and he then asked "Are you guys cops?". My father and I were both so taken back by the line of questioning we proceeded to get up and leave. I won't be returning to this establishment after this, and think it is a strange a bartender would behave this way driving away patrons. It makes sense why no one else was in the bar room after dealing with this. I wish I would have caught his name so I could have left it in this review. My wife and I took our son and his wife to celebrate an accomplishment. It was our first time at EVO. Our waiter came over and being our first time there, we had a few questions about the menu. The waiter seemed a bit irritated, was short and didn't clearly answer what we were asking. We placed our order. The waiter came back shortly after and said one of the items my wife and I had ordered was not available. So, we adjusted our orders. Then we waited for what seemed a bit long. Our waiter did not come back to update or check on us. We finally stopped another member of the wait-staff and asked if she could find our waiter. A few minutes later a lady, I think she may have been a manager, came over and said she would check on our order. She came back and said it would be out shortly. When she brought it out, my wife's order was wrong. She said she would fix the mistake. The "fix" was still wrong. We are not talking about something difficult here. Three eggs, fried medium-well. First time they came out scrambled. Second time, just one egg and hard as a rock. By the time my wife got the egg portion of her brunch, the rest of it was cold and everyone else was done eating. And, we still had not seen or heard from our original waiter. Then, we ask for the check and guess what, it is wrong too. I took it the lady (manager?) and explained what was wrong with it. She finds our original waiter (I thought he had left or something) and had him "fix" the bill. He did, but totally had an "attitude" about it. The food (egg issues aside) was actually pretty good. I want to start by saying overall, my experience was good. The crab dip was the best plate. It was both rich and creamy, and seemed to be fresh. The muscles themselves were good, but the broth was way too salty. When it came to the drinks, their holiday drink menu was amazing. The bartenders were a bit much, I voiced to them I was against the idea of taking a shot and that I did not want one, but the bartender poured me one anyways to take, with them and my friend. I took a sip and didn't drink the rest of it because I did not want one. The bartender ended up charging me for the shot even though I did not ask for one.... The staff are really friendly and helpful. I ordered the No. 3 and the Exile red amber. Both were good. So were the fries and Brussels sprouts. People next to us ordered calamari and that looked like a winner. Glad I got to visit. My only regret was that a train didn't go by while I was there. The lobster roll had little lobster, was rubbery, and little to no seasoning. The french fries were cold. The mojito tasted more like club soda than anything. Service was mediocre at best. Our server picked up the lobster roll that only had two bites taken and didn't say a word about it, not even to ask if we needed a box. AND our bill was $100 for lunch. While in Salisbury running errands and we found this brewery for lunch, we are so glad we did ! We were immediately greeted and seated in the big room, but asked to move to the bar area as the big room is very dark and it's a sunny day ! There is lots of natural light in the bar. The bartender, Tamar, immediately came to help us and suggested a few beers we may like based on our preferences- she was spot on. After a few minutes with the menu my husband asked what she would select among several sandwich's and she immediately recommended the Cuban. He also ordered the chili. Both the Cuban and the chili were outstanding, plentiful, well seasoned and perfectly prepared. I ordered the onion soup and it was also really good. I liked the onion rings on top and it was nice and cheesy. The soup itself was flavorful and not at all salty. The atmosphere was very upbeat, it was getting busy when we left, we really liked the energy of the place. When in Salisbury again we would definitely go back, it was a terrific find on every level ! read more

This review is based on three different visits since May 20, 2025. Everything needs improvement at this restaurant except the beer which I haven't tasted in more than a year. It may have also declined. In May 2025, I had the crab cakes which were burnt in some places and rendered havoc on my gastrointestinal tract that evening and into the next morning. I was in a hurry and they are convenient so I went back a few weeks later. I explained to the waitress that I was in a hurry and needed to catch a plane so I wanted her to take my order and give me the check at the same time. She took my card and gave me the check but never came back with my card. When I finally got up and found her, she was on her dinner break. I explained she still had my card which she denied. She said she left it on my table, but it was actually in her apron pocket. Tonight I went in at 9 pm and despite the fact that only about 8 customers were occupying two tables, the service was essentially nonexistent. My food took forever and I had to ask for everything after waving my arms to flag someone down. The French onion soup was a tasteless flour-thickend dark brown almost pudding consistency with the top of a hamburger bun on top covered in melted cheese topped by 3 burnt, inedible onion rings. My burger was good and the sweet potato fries were not very warm and some of the ends were burnt. Staff chatted up a storm with each other with no concern for customers. I get it that people are tired and wanted to go home, but they are open until 10 pm and need to provide services. I used to love this place and ate there every trip I made to Salisbury. Nobody needs this so I won't return. read more

To be fair, the server assigned to our table was amazing and the food was pretty good. I had dinner with a party of eight artist during the Maryland Folk Festival. When you check in as a performer, the Festival distributes meal tickets along with an official list of where to use them. We called ahead to avoid any confusion and were told we can use our tickets... At the end of the meal a random manager, I think her name was Karen, came out to let us know there must have been some sort of mix up and we couldn't use the tickets. We showed her the site and info, to her surprise. She quickly left the scene embarrassed, never to be seen again! Although both Sobo's and EVO's offer this incredible Cream of Crab Soup topped with a large amount of very sweet Lump Crab, I go to EVO's because it is open for lunch. It is available as a cup or bowl but I love it soooo much that I go for the bowl. The soup is consistently savory and the lump crab is top notch and sweet. We stopped here a little before 5pm on a Wednesday. My wife had this place bookmarked to check out while we were visiting the area. We parked in the lot which felt pretty large and was mostly empty. As we walked toward the building we could see they have a very large outdoor seating area which is nicely fenced and inviting. We were initially seated outside but decided to sit inside because it was very warm outside. It was a lot cooler inside and we were seated in the dining area. We could see the bar area connected through an open doorway. Our server came and took our drink orders, my wife ordered the Iced House Lemonade and I chose the PINE'HOP'LE IPA and we perused the menu. I decided on the brisket sandwich while my wife ordered a carne asada taco and a grilled fish taco. Our drinks were refreshing and tasted great. Our food arrived very quickly and also looked yummy. My wife started with the carne asada burrito and said it was just okay. She then ate the grilled fish taco and commented that she wished she had ordered two of the fish tacos instead. My brisket sandwich was very tasty and tender but I should have ordered additional sauce on the side as well. We both washed our hands in the restrooms and agreed that both the men's and women's restrooms should have been much cleaner than what we experienced. Overall it's a great place to enjoy food and drinks while in the area but we felt the prices were a bit high (Ice House Lemonade - $10; Brisket Sandwich and Fries - $14; Tacos- $7/each). read more

I'll set the stage: Two families with young kids (four kids ranging from five to seven), leaving Chincoteague after a holiday weekend, wanting a place to break up the trip home. It was a beautiful and warm day, and due to having kids and Covid, we preferred to sit outside. I made a reservation on Yelp for the eight of us with about 40 minutes notice. They quickly confirmed via text and reached out to ask if we had a preference for indoors or outdoors. I confirmed outdoors, but secretly wondered if we would regret it, given the heat and the sun. When we arrived, a quick check in put me at ease: they had given us a lovely long picnic table in the garden area! They had picked the absolute shadiest spot (under an umbrella *and* under a shade tarp), and it was already set with menus, utensils, and ice waters. Our server Caitlyn was fantastic! She took us completely in stride, getting our order in quickly, helping us choose what to get, bringing lids for the kids' drinks without being asked, etc., all with a cheerful, friendly, and can-do attitude. (I thought we had just lucked out with a fantastic server, but then a big party sat down later with dogs near us and when their server brought out their drinks, they brought the dogs water bowls too! Talk about full service!) The atmosphere of eating outside with friends on a beautiful day was already pretty great, but then the food and drinks were A+ as well! Kids devoured their small plain pizzas (one pizza fed two kids), pink lemonades, and orange slices. We clinked our drinks (Pilsner and a margarita) over a small Caesar salad with a broiled lump crab cake (maybe the best crab cake I've ever had, not sure another will ever measure up) and a small Crabby Pizza (basically cheesy crab dip on a pizza with a garlic bread crust -- as good as it sounds!). We supplemented with delicious sweet potato fries (try the sweet curry dip!). Others got the small kale and burrata salad and a small brisket pizza. We had no leftovers. Overall, fantastic service, lovely atmosphere, and excellent food/drink! Will 100% be back! Ps. They are building more restrooms and a bar in the garden area -- I bet they'll be lovely when complete! read more
