After being ignored for ten minutes at a very popular local brew pub we were found the New Market Inn. There is both a bar and restaurant here with separate entrances. At mid-day the restaurant was empty and the hostess took us on a secret path into the bar. We had very pleasant service and a nice lunch.

The food was fresh and tasty, the service excellent. The restaurant has a terrace on the river where we had a very nice lunch with our dog. The terrace has some shade and breeze, no mosquitoes. We had the specials of the days: chef salad and a peach and arugula flatbread. Both delicious. The waitress and the hostess were very nice and friendly. We also tasted a strawberry Maryland cake based on the waitress recommendation and it was deliciously light and creamy. Thank you for a nice lunch!

Had a lovely dinner for 2 on a Saturday night. We were seated in a cozy booth right away. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our entrees were delicious. We also enjoyed the key lime pie with coconut crust for dessert. We will definitely be back!

Great outdoor seating on the river, and hands down one of the best fried crab cakes on the Eastern Shore.

Portions were on the large side so we had leftovers for a full takeaway meal. The egg rolls were new to us - corned beef dipped in a mustard sauce was an unusual, yet pleasant appetizer. They arrived hot with the interior cheese melted. Good. Side of broccoli was cooked to a soft texture - this is normal in many restaurants, yet I prefer crunchy raw so will ask for that next time. Service: Emily appeared frequently enough so we did not feel neglected. She's obviously experienced as we observed her navigating an increasingly busy clientele. Surprised for being after normal lunch time - 1:00 PM. She seemed to agree with our menu choices by sayiing "Good Choice." on our selections, Ambiance: Decor reminiscent of an Irish pub. It's NOT a college-student hangout by appearances and Emily's description. Surprising given how close this place is to the University. Tables and chairs, and booths appeared clean. Restroom was accessible, clean and well supplied. Mix of background music from Billy Joel to Irish titles. Ample free parking in front lot. Overall, a top rating due to a surprisingly pleasant experience offering unique to Salisbury food and atmosphere. Few notes: 1. Backs of booths are shared. Thus, you can feel neighboring diner shifting seats or leaning back. Like a kid kicking your airplaine seat back behind you, it's a minor irritation IF done once or twice. 2. Female servers need not wear minikilts and shorts to attract business in my opinion. Their uniform, if required, brings into question whether it's a family place. Regular length kilts would add suitable authentic atmosphere IMO.

They did not have any disappointing. My wife ordered a club sandwich that was supposed to come with Gouda cheese, ham, turkey, lettuce, tomato, and aïoli sauce. When she got it, there was no cheese so we had to return it and they ended up having to use a Colby cheese as they didn't have any Gouda. It had one slice of ham, one slice of turkey, one piece of cheese, lettuce, and tomato and three big pieces of bread. I ordered a double cheeseburger with four pieces of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. When the cheeseburger came I was told that oh by the way we are out of bacon tonight. So now we're out of cheesesteaks and bacon and forgot to put the cheese on the club sandwich along with meat. Then my wife used the bathroom, which had three stalls in it the one was completely clogged. The second one was semi clogged and the third one that wasn't clogged at all had no toilet paper. The machine to dry your hands was halfway up the wall and it needed a good cleaning. Overall, needless to say not very happy with the way the night went, but on a good note, our waiter was exceptionally nice person and did his best to make things right which didn't happen.
