Flight: Pilsener, Bitter, West Coast Pale Ale, IPA (l to r)
Don N.

Stopped by on the way to Hamilton airport. Glad I did. Had a flight - every beer was good to very good for the style. Had the tacos - two barbacoa tacos that were super delicious. Prices are reasonable, service was great. On the patio, outside a historic building... what more can you ask for? Highly recommend.

I particularly enjoyed the Pork Belly sliders it was flavorful, well-seasoned, and had a fantastic presentation. The portions of the food were pretty good to share. Their beer selection is top-notch, offering an impressive range of local craft brews and international favorites. Whether you're a fan of IPAs, lagers, or something more experimental, there's something for everyone. Service was amazing! Our server Matt was very attentive and made she we were comfortable throughout the meal. He also made great recommendations for the paddle! Overall, Beertown is a great choice for anyone who loves good food and even better beer. Definitely recommend for beer lovers and foodies alike!

The tables are very close to one another, which made access back and forth to the table a bit hard. The food was okay, but the taco my husband had was not to our liking, but overall everything else was great. I liked my chips and guacamole. We will be coming back but will be ordering other foods to try out. The noise level is normal for a restaurant like this one; it's not loud. However, since it's crowded, it makes it a little difficult to talk to someone across from you.

Silversmith was such a good choice for a brewery to visit in the Niagara wine region. I'd been…read morewanting to try poutine for quite a while, and though it was available when I lived near Detroit, I never trusted that I was close enough to Quebec for it to be good. I decided maybe Virgil was close enough to try it, and oh my goodness - I understood at once why poutine is so popular. If you also hail from a poutine-less area of the world, fear not - done well, it's a great dish. The beer was also excellent. I can see why The Black Lager is Canada's most award-winning Schwarzbier. There are some really good schwarzebiers in my city, and Silversmith's is right up there with them. I also have a Nut Brown Ale, and a small size of the Motueka, both of which I would get again. They know what they are doing with their food and drink. And the atmosphere is really good as well. The old-church-turned-brewery is beautiful. I'll let the pictures in other reviews do it justice. The service was good. It was relatively busy the night I was there, but the service was still quick enough and even a bit conversational - I recall one of the bartenders worked at Silversmith in the warmer months, and travels southeast Asia in the colder months, which is pretty cool. I would likely be a regular if I lived in the area.

The burger had very thin pickles layered on it and that allowed for each bit to have the same flavor, rather than a few pickles in the middle. I got the flight of beers and enjoyed each one. The staff were all friendly and fun.

This is exclusively a brewery so they do not seem to serve food themselves but have other restaurant pop ups and encourage to bring your own food! To know more about their pop ups follow their instagram. We were excited for the Oyster popup from Island Oysters paired with a laza kombucha and a baby thunder pale ale. The service was attentive although note you need to order at the bar.

For a retirement gift, my boss had bought $50 gift certificates to six micro breweries in Guelph, which has been great. We've had dinner at some, but at others, I have just bought cans of beer to go (usually I put in a bit more cash and get 18 cans). This place must not have had a proper gift certificate, because I just had a "pint card" (4 beers value - $34) and the balance was rung up as 2 X 473mL lagers, for about $50. I explained to the server that I was sure this was meant to represent a $50 gift card and she said it was just a pint card and my boss must have drank the two tall boys there (while touring around Guelph to get gift cards at 2pm). Anyway, I finally took the 4 cans, which were $34 plus tax, although for $30, you could get 6 cans. I'm probably going on too long about this, but I feel like I was ripped off and this is my only way to deal with it, emotionally. Anyway, I will never go back there again, and please, never buy a gift certificate from this establishment.

The space is very reminiscent of an old English/Irish pub. Located right in the heart of downtown St Catherine's, my wife and I were promptly welcomed in by the staff as if we were regulars. There was a good selection of in house brews, the bartender was quick to offer suggestions, but we let him know we were told to check out the blueberry wheat. We only had time to stay for one drink, but had a good time, the beer was great and we had a good chat with the bartender. Very frequently and welcoming. We only wish we'd had a time to go back and try some other beers. Hopefully we will get a chance to return one day
