My family and I stopped in for a coffee, hot chocolate and a snack and had a wonderful experience. The place was extremely friendly and my latte was probably the best I've had in Richmond. I will also note that our 9 yr old said that his hot chocolate, on a scale of 1-10, was a 12. We really enjoyed the vibe there and will be back there as soon as we can. After waiting in anticipation for Month's, I was so excited to walk down the street for an Iced Chai Tea Latte. Unfortunately what the "Barista" handed me was as far away from a Chai Tea Latte as they come. It was made with an actual Chai Tea bag (not even steeped in hot water first) and cold milk. Sadly, the bag broke before I could even finish the "Latte". From my knowledge, a Chai Tea Latte is a mixture of Chai Tea CONCENTRATE, or Chai Tea POWDER mixed with milk. I definitely don't think i'll be back to waste another 5 bucks on a tiny sized drink that wasn't even what it claimed to be. It looks like they need to retrain their staff, hire some more knowledgable Baristas, or at least gain some more knowledge when it comes to making the average Coffee House beverages. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while, but didn't get around to it until today, when I woke up desperately craving a breakfast bagel sandwich. Mind you, I'm a New York bagel snob who was spoiled by living in Charlottesville and having unfettered access to Bodo's Bagels for fifteen years, so I do not leave this review lightly. I HAVE FOUND BREAKFAST BAGEL NIRVANA. Richmond does not have good bagels, as a rule, but Brewers Cafe is the exception. Oh my goodness, you will not be disappointed with their sandwiches. My companion said, and I quote, "forget Fancy Biscuit, this is our new breakfast spot". We live in the Fan, and until today didn't have much of a reason to go to Manchester beyond visiting friends. And I haven't even mentioned the espresso (rich and delicious!), and the excellent service. AJ made a point of welcoming us and telling us about the place and the menu, and you can tell that he and his staff care deeply about the neighborhood and providing a great experience for every person who walks in the door. I can't recommend this cafe enough! We will definitely be back. read more

I found this place here on Yelp while I was driving down to South Carolina and I'm so glad I stopped in. I had some tea and a really delicious portobello sandwich. I had been thinking about trying this cafe for a while and today was the day. First, I was not greeted when i walked in by anyone behind the counter, nor by the guy who I assumed was the owner. I attempted to order The Dogtown on croissant and they had no croissants, and they didnt attempt to offer a replacement. They serve breakfast all day. I ordered the Bainbridge on sour dough and it was the biggest and tasty breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Solid prices and the inside is so cute. The iced strawberry green tea and vanilla iced cold brew were both 10/10 drink choices. read more

Ajay Brewer's Cafe in Manchester is like a fresh breath of air to the coffee cafe scene. I agree with their homepage description... It is sophisticated, but not snobby. The artwork is soulful and beautiful. The cafe has a total, down-to-earth vibe and Ajay, Parker and the gal with the gorgeous blue eyes made my day today. I ordered lunch to go for a client very last minute. They were incredibly accommodating, on-point and FAST. The food for my lunch presentation was fresh and delicious. Thank you!!! The owner took our order and introduced himself. The place is something you'd expect as a Richmond Cafe - hipster, good vibes, very RVA. All three of us got the Brewer's Club and it is the BEST sandwich. It's huge too. And I think we got a smore's donut that just melted in your mouth. My point is the food is good and after you order they bring it to your table. It might take a little because they hand make it, but it comes out perfect! read more
