Love this delicious dessert shop! Pandan MOCHI WAFFLES, #6 & #10 & durian smoothie are my favorites! Very clean seating sections and clean spacious restrooms. We always stop here for drinks and desserts when we are in Glen Allen. All the staff are friendly and always make sure we are enjoying our desserts. Let them know if you want to eat the dessert later so they can pack the ice deplaned pack the dessert in an air tight lid. I wish there was a Bambu in DC/NVA areas.

I love Bambu! I've had it in other cities and I'm glad we have a Richmond location. I got the Bambu Favorite (red tapioca, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk) and the Awesome Trio (red beans, mung beans, taro, pandan jelly, and coconut milk). Both are chè classics. They were perfect! I like that they ask whether you're having it for here or to go so they can decide whether to put the crushed ice in it or provide it separately. I've had the pandan waffle and it had the texture of a mochi waffle and was similar to another Viet dessert I like called banh bo nuong. The bubble egg waffle was more dense to me. They also have lots of other desserts like boba tea, smoothies, macarons, mochi ice cream, and more. They have plenty of seating inside and a small selection of games you can play. It's cool that they have plants for sale as well.

Went here for a quick coffee with a friend and enjoyed their cafe sua da boba ‍, It was a little bit sweet at 100% sugar in my opinion but it still hit the spot! It's clean inside and the worker was very nice and helpful! I would go here again especially if you have cravings for che or an avacado smoothie! Decorations are nice and the halloween inflatables made me giggle

I came here and got the winter melon milk tea with boba. ($6) Staff was busy and it took about 5 minutes for them to get my order in, it eventually came out 7 minutes later . The wintermelon flavor tasted quite good, melon and sweet(next time I would get 75% sweet). The boba was above average. Only critique is the waiting which could be solved if there were two people working. Overall I had a good experience, and would definitely come back!

My family and I would drive up to Northern VA whenever we crave Vietnamese desserts so I was really excited to hear that a Bambu finally opened up in Richmond. It's about time! We went to check this place out as soon as we heard they were having their soft opening. I love that they have a little bit of everything and caters to a variety of tastes: milk teas/fruit teas, sparkling refreshers, Vietnamese dessert drinks (Che), waffles, macarons, mochi ice creams, smoothies, Vietnamese coffees, etc. We ordered: Avocado smoothie - This was my favorite drink growing up and it did not disappoint. You could tell they used fresh avocados to make this (most places I've been to around here makes the powdered version) and I like that it wasn't too sweet. #1 Bambu Special - My boyfriend got this drink and liked it so much, we came back the next day so he could get another one. It's very light, refreshing and made with fresh coconut water. #7 Taro Lover - This had mashed taro with pandan jelly and coconut milk. It was really good but filled me up quickly - I'd definitely get it again when I want something more filling. #13 Bambu Halo Halo - Finally a place in the west end that offers this Filipino dessert! I no longer have to drive to Midlothian when I have a craving for this. Macarons - I didn't get a chance to try these but my nieces really enjoyed them! Pandan waffle - I love anything pandan, and this was no exception. This reminds me of the ube mochi pancakes you can get at Trader Joe's but better! It had this mochi-like texture with pandan flavor, which tastes like a mix of coconut and vanilla. Bubble egg waffle - this was my favorite thing there, it reminds me of those classic Chinese sponge cakes but in waffle form. It was a bit crispy on the outside and deliciously moist on the inside. I didn't look at the menu carefully and discovered afterwards that you can add a scoop of ice cream to this or the pandan waffle. I'm definitely coming back to get this again with a scoop of ube ice cream. I love that everything was made fresh to order and the service was pretty quick as we did not have to wait too long to get our items. Everyone was friendly there and patient as we tried to figure out what we wanted. TLDR; We love this place and everything we got there. I look forward to coming back to try their milk teas and mangonada!

Super excited for Bambu to expand to RVA after trying it for the first few times in the DMV area. Honestly, one of the best Vietnamese Chè. I went during their grand opening weekend and was the first person there when they opened at 11 AM. Their Friday promotion was a free T-shirt with every purchase. I ordered the Bambu special, which has coconut, pandan jelly, brown longan, basil seed, and coconut water. You get the option to have the ice in the cup or separately. I opted to get it in the cup since I was planning to drink it now. Very refreshing and light! My favorite topping is the long pandan jellies! I also checked into Yelp for 10% off. I love the interior - gives green vibes with all their plants! Staff is super friendly. Plenty of parking available in the plaza.

Halo halo - finally one that I can order/get from!!!!

The first time I had Bambu was up in Northern VA with my sister. It's a hidden spot and had some of the best Vietnamese Che I've had ever! I was so excited when I was looking them up and saw that they were opening up here in Richmond!!! Yes! I can fulfill my cravings anytime I want now! haha My friend and I came over here to try it out when it first opened earlier in Oct. I was shocked that they got the Halo Halo - I've been on the search for some around Richmond and I had to get it. No regrets! haha - this is served in a large-sized cup with all of the dessert jelly/beans/ and topped with the halo-halo ice cream. LOVE IT! This may be a Vietnamese version of Che because it wasn't too sweet and just hit the spot for me. My next favorite is Bambu's favorite where they have different jellys (the grass/long jelly). You seriously cannot go wrong with any of the choices. Oh, do avoid showing up at 7:30 and later, there may be a high chance of them running out of che - but you can def call and ask what they do have in stock before driving over there. They do also have the bubble pancakes and my friend said that it was light and fluffy - I really do need to give it a try. Anyways, whenever I have an excuse to come out to this area I make sure to stop here and pick up my order to indulge later on. MUST GET!!!

Taro coconut smoothie with added boba, and honeydew smoothie! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

So glad i discovered this place!!! Taro coconut smoothie with added boba & honeydew smoothie were heavenly!! Not overly sweet, and the flavors are just perfect! Would recommend this place over and over! They have sooooo many fun flavor options, also have coffee drinks, teas, macarons, and mochi waffles! It's also super vibey in here and they place chill music!

Kind staff and so many delicious drink options! This spot is family friendly as they had little games and trinkets to entertain littles. We will be back!

    Strawberry Cheesecake yonami with boba
    Arwa A.

A cute place to check out in Short Pump! They have boba, some different Vietnamese coffees, teas, and shakes, as well as waffles. My friend and I opted for the strawberry cheesecake yonami which did not disappoint. It's like a tart yoghurt shake with sweet strawberry syrup and cheesecake bites, and we added boba to ours. The boba was very fresh too. Overall, a small but nice, aesthetic place to hang out and get a snack or drink.

I don't say this lightly: Fairuz Cafe serves the best Turkish coffee I've had. Period. And I'm…read moresaying this as someone who grew up on Turkish coffee in Palestine and Jordan, and searched for the real thing across countless cafes in the States. The search is over. The coffee here isn't just good -- it's correct. The grind, the heat, the cardamom -- everything is dialed in with the kind of care you only get from people carrying a tradition, not following a recipe. The basbusa is outstanding -- house-made, fresh, with that perfect syrup-to-semolina balance so many places get wrong. Best I've had in years. Can't wait to try their kunafa next. What really sets Fairuz apart is the atmosphere. This is a family-owned spot and you feel it the second you walk in. The hospitality is genuine -- that "sit down, you're home now" energy you can't manufacture. If you're Middle Eastern and homesick, come here. If you've never had real Turkish coffee, come here. If you just want somewhere that feels human and unhurried -- come here. Fairuz didn't just meet my standards. It raised them.

The only thing for me is that it feels a little like a nighttime vibe but it only sells bakery goods and coffee type drinks. We were the only ones there, so it felt almost too big. They have a pool table, which was surprising and I wasn't sure if we could use that. One other couple came after a bit. I think if it were full, it would have been really nice. Husband got a double espresso and I ordered an Americano. His was in a cute cup, but mine was in a to-go cup with a lid. Since we were sitting in, I would have preferred a nice mug. We ordered a few pastries to bring home. I presume it was the owner working and he was very welcoming. He was cleaning the entire time (9am ish). On the positive, the place looks spotless. I did feel it was a little odd to mop while open and in the morning. The chocolate pastry in this picture was 10/10 for me, so good! It had so much flavor and texture with chocolate, pistachio and maybe some caramel. Would definitely go back, particularly to get items to take home.
