Great coffee, great food, beautifully decorated, great location. So happy to have this gem close by. They carry Gelati Celesti, the do latte flights, delicious baked goods, and healthy snacks. The vibes are like a beach coffee shop in the middle of central VA. They always love on our toddler who's been coming in with us since he was born. Always friendly and helpful, even when they are super busy. Adding photos of some of our favorite foods but highly recommend the chai latte with oat milk which I didn't get a picture of.

I don't know how this place could EVER get less than 5 stars, I'd give them 11! Camping for memorial weekend and went in for some coffee because of course. And to start it's ADORABLE on the inside. The girl at the front (I wish I got her name) took my order and I went to get a white mocha and she pointed out that they have a blackberry white mocha so I decided to try it because I've def had orange before once and it was yummy, and Omgosh I'm glad she pointed it out. You get the coffee first with a secondary slow drift of flavor (the blackberry) and I don't even know what else to say, it was delicious. I had my boyfriend try it (to preface this he HATES coffee(I know, what a sociopath, who doesn't love coffee )) but I didn't tell him what it was, I told him it was white mocha with pizazz and he took a sip and made an extremely surprised face. He then kept drinking it and I had to take it away. lol. All in all, just go in. They are warm, welcoming, the place is adorable and clean, AND the coffee is delicious! 1700 stars. Thank you girl at the counter that I didn't get your name! And lady that I talked to about Orange coffee!

I've been here twice and both trips the service was quick and the staff were pleasant. The first time I was with a coworker and we were grabbing a bunch of hot coffees for members of our team and surprisingly enough we were in and out within 10 minutes. My second visit was the other day because I needed an iced coffee for a mid day pick me up. I've only gotten into iced coffee within the last few months and I appreciated how patient and helpful the women who took my order was with me. O settled on the iced caramel macchiato and I loved the fact they had almond milk and almond whipped cream! I didn't have to add any additional sweetener or sugar so it was a double bonus for me. There were a few other people working inside the cafe and another group was ordering pastries while I waited so I'll have to be sure to try those out the next time I stop in.

Phenomenal in every way! Before moving to Powhatan we had lots of options for coffee in Midlothian. Here we only need one! Rise and Grind checks all the boxes from ambiance to customer service to delicious coffee and treats. My two year old requests the banana cake all the time and I'm happy to oblige. 10/10.

This place is the hidden jem of the town! It's cute from the outside and gorgeous inside with ample room for a live music and kids dancing. The best thing is the owner. She is very friendly, very knowledgeable about her products and sociable. Her staff are patient, kind and friendly. If you have an allergy, they will try to accommodate you and point you to the right food to consume. What about the food and drinks? I'm glad I do not live here or else, I'll be here daily to enjoy one of their drinks, pastry or gelato. All are tasty! If you want Starbucks, this place is better. You can have any drinks you want with all sorts of add-on if you like. You don't want cow milk, they have Almond or Oat milk. You have an allergy, they will try to accommodate you. A little hungry, try one of their delicious baked goods. One taste is all you need and you'll be hooked. The lemon bars are smooth, decadent, not too acidic and too sweet, but definitely addictive. You will definitely would want more! If getting the blondie, they can warm it up for you or if you get one for home, zap it a bit so you can enjoy it as if it's fresh out of the oven. There's a lot of chocolate chips so perfect for a chocoholic. Pair it a beverage and your belly will be satisfied. If you are Gluten sensitive, they offer GF and Vegan too. These are moist and not overly sweet. The GF pound cake was smooth. I'm some places, their pound cake feels gritty, dry, sometimes too sweet or bland. I like hers. But what about the vegan cupcake?! Well, I would not suggest just eating the icing. If you do, you'll find it too sweet. You must eat it with the sponge! Yes, you have to because they balance each other out. The cupcake has enough sugar but paired with the icing, you'd enjoy it even more. Don't like the icing, you don't have to eat it. The vegan chocolate chips cookies are not GF. It has a coconut undertone, packed with chocolate chips and big! The sweetness is spot on What else have I tried in a visit? The smoothies, ice match latte with almond milk, and gelato. So much food right? Well, I brought some home and they kept in the car all the way to NC. We were lucky it was a cloudy and coolish day. So my kids got the strawberry-banana smoothie and the mango. They loved it. The matcha latte was not bitter and the sweetness was just right. Last, the gelato is a must on a hot day. It is not like getting one of those pints at the grocery store. I find those overly sweet and not satisfying. Their gelato is creamy, sweetened to perfection, smooth and filled with whatever flavour. For example, the coconut has coconut in it and not just the extract. The coconut is not hard as if added in the last minute. They give a nice texture to the treat. The sorbet is not grainy, too sweet, or eating a frozen juice. It's as smooth as if you are eating a dairy based one. You can add extra topping too if you want and they offer tasting as well. Another excellent thing about this place, they offer reusable cutleries, the spoons are recyclable since they are made of wood. Environmental friendly! So, if you are in the area, come check this place out! You won't be disappointed! The owner and her staff are amazing people.

My favorites things to get is the veggie cream cheese on an everything bagel and an iced chai latte, so yummy! :D

This is a beautiful cafe with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They have tall, open windows that let in a lot of sunlight. And a soft aroma of gentle music that makes you feel at ease. To me, their drinks are very tasty, and they feel more natural and flavorful rather than other cafes I've been to. They also have new drink options for every holiday and season, so I always look forward to trying what's new! The best part is how kind and warm the employees are, especially the owner! They go beyond regular cafes and make sure all their guests are welcomed. Sometimes Jerry will go around to all the tables to check on them and see if they need anything. An awesome gem of a cafe!

When you overhear "See you tomorrow for the usual" as soon as you walk in, it's a great sign of an amazing coffee shop. I love everything about this place. Attentive and knowledgeable barista, wide selection in the bakery case and more then comfortable seating for me and my family. If I could leave 100 stars, I would! Highly recommend! Will be back soon!

Visiting my in-laws in Powhatan, we stumbled across this new, chic, and modern coffee shop called Rise and Grind! Judging by the facade, I could tell the food and drinks would be top notch. I was right as I had the maple pecan scone and the holiday drink Peppermint Candy Cane Cold Brew drink. Though the food is delicious here, it's the friendly Guest service that won me over! Here is where I met this super friendly employee named Jerry who I discovered is the co-owner of this coffee shop! He not only made us feel welcome, he treated us like VIPs and made sure our orders were delivered to our table accurately. Because I enjoyed this experience so much, I decided to purchase their hat....to support local business but also as a reminder of my first time experience there!

It's three restaurants under one roof! The buttery yellow exterior is warm and inviting, with gardens, arches, outdoor lights, lovely courtyard, and even a surrounding white picket fence! In this tiny town of Lunenburg, it was quite a surprise to find this countryside tea room/café/tavern! What a perfect location for weddings, and other events! We came for tea! The tea service is at 2:30 and the hosts kindly accommodated us calling a day ahead, as reservations are required. We were tickled pink when we entered the foyer painted a bright magenta with shelves of teacups and wide-brimmed fancy hats along the walls. Our table was in a cottage-styled room with English chintz floral tablecloths, robin egg blue walls, a cozy fireplace guarded by a hot pink lion statue keeping watch over his domain we dubbed him Pepper), and weathered wooden fences provided the backs for the benches, so shabby chic! We loved the bird motif throughout this cozy room! The mantle was strewn with various bird figurines, amidst bird houses & nests displayed at various spots around the room. Our places were set with beautiful rose patterned china, as Paul, our host offered us tea! He then brought the multi-tiered plate server that held the most delectable small bites I'd ever had at a tea room! Paul was extremely amiable and spot on as he described the offerings. He informed us that the chef, his wife Kathy, made everything from scratch! There was a scrumptious ham, cheese and green pepper quiche, an amazing spinach/feta pastry, and a creative Reuben pinwheel with homemade sauerkraut! Then of course, the classic cucumber finger sandwiches! We were blown away by the savories! The sweet potato & cinnamon scones were fluffy, dense and perfectly sweetened, served with a cinnamon vanilla whipped cream... delicious! For the dessert course, we we served pumpkin spice mini cakes & homemade chocolate truffles. Wow! We were completely satisfied with the food and the service was impeccable! A delightful conversation ensued with Paul and Kathy as we learned how they met and decided to open this establishment! Paul is also a shoemaker, and serves the local community cobbler services in a small shop behind the main farmhouse! After our meal, we wandered to the second tearoom which was painted a golden yellow with heavy wooden furniture exhibiting loads of china, coffee/tea urns, teapots, and collectibles. The focal point is the bright white fireplace, decorated for the season! Note the gorgeous Indian quilt wall hanging, quite a story there! This room is definitely more of an classic English style. Through the archway you enter the café, a much more casual atmosphere with a few tables donning oilcloth tablecloths, checkered floors, and a hutches and shelves filled with various teas, coffees, and gifts. Here the locals gather for sandwiches, salads, and a few menu specials! Also, along with homemade cakes and pies for dessert, they serve Richlands Ice Cream! The next room is the cozy British tavern with a couple high-top tables and seating at the small bar. I could definitely see my hubby and I here grabbing a pint, some pub fare and listening to live music. A blue leather chair, Guinness signs, suits of armor and deer heads add to the rustic, warmth of this quaint tavern. Nothing short of a power couple, Paul and Kathy have a flair for making their customers into their friends! I certainly hope they thrive and survive during this pandemic because it's obvious they are serving the community and surroundings towns with the best in culinary pleasures!
