    Glowing Horizon
    Sarah S.

Needed a smoothie in my life before heading to work and was excited to see the pit and the peels version of the Hailey Bieber smoothie on the menu. I ordered the glowing horizons smoothie ($16) and it was tasty but almost mid, definitely not worth $16, but it was very pretty! The coconut cream and strawberry glaze were good but I wanted more strawberry flavor from the smoothie. I also ordered a panini to go, the pit and the pesto with kettle chips. The sandwich was incredible I'd definitely get it again. Overall the smoothie and panini cost about $36 after tip, cute spot but a little on the pricey side. Glad this place didn't exist while I was in undergrad of I would've been broke. Will I come back, yeah probably, even in this economy.

They are so generous with their toppings and I'm here for it. I got the house bowl and the açaí truly felt like just a vessel for the copious amounts of PB, banana, and chocolate chips. It was scrumptious but so filling. The açaí itself was average, but the amount of toppings made up for it. It's a bright little space and has a nice amount of seating.

I've only been for lunch and the House bowl is always pretty good and staff is usually pretty friendly. Good place to read or study and the street parking is not too hard to find.

My sister and I ordered an acąi bowl and a smoothie. Taste-wise, very delicious. Although the bowl was mostly smoothie! I like that they have GF granola for no extra charge. The smoothie is worth the $10, you can taste little pieces of coconut Great music and good environment to work, not crowded. 4/5 because the bathroom facilities were very dirty, the rooftop, although it had been raining, was messy, no trash bags in trash cans. Great option to pick up smoothie on the go!

Pretty disappointed with the $80 per person Holiday "Cooking Class" I took a friend to last night. Most significantly, it was not a cooking class. Maybe it's just semantics but a cooking class implies to me I'm going to be a part of the cooking process. Instead, it was a demonstration by the chef, and poorly organized at that. Servers were uncertain how many drink tickets to hand out, food was served at weird, random increments & the menu really had no cohesion. Although the Mac & cheese balls and crabcakes were pretty tasty, pairing that with the sub par crescent rolls & chia pudding was just...weird. Overall it felt like I was tricked by a sparkly Instagram promo & did not get the experience paid for.

Great location and quick service. All of the ingredients taste fresh. The honey adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the bowl. Definitely my go to bowl here.

This is a great option for a rooftop hang in The Fan! Unlike the other Pit and the Peel locations, they serve alcoholic drinks here. Many of the fruity, summery variety! A couple friends and I were all drawn to the fruited margaritas. I chose the raspberry marg, and it was delicious! They also serve a full food menu plus their usual smoothies, juices, and such. We only had drinks during our visit. I'd recommend this spot for a chill afternoon out on a sunny day.

Got the peanut butter cup smoothie. Didn't taste much like peanut butter and was very icey. My three friends also got smoothies and they were also icey. You shouldn't have to chew a smoothie. Especially not for more than 10 dollars. The cold case was empty which is surprising considering it's a Saturday and it should definitely be stocked during business hours. The staff is all college students who aren't very welcoming. I gave this place another shot, but I won't be back unfortunately.

This review is only for their margarita flights! When I heard about margarita flights, I had to try it! So we came here super excited! However, I was disappointed:( none tasted good! They tasted very much syrup-y and very very sweet! They neither tasted natural nor good! Like the concept and creativity but I think the taste profile needs some work

The Pit and The Peel is always a good experience! This location has a ROOFTOP BAR! The space is so nice. My friend and I just went to grab a drink and catch up. We ordered and paid through a QR code. The waitress came over to make sure we were doing okay a few times. She brought us water which was a nice touch. The strawberry margarita was so delicious. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Everyone had their own space. Highly recommend visiting!

Ugh. Disappointed that this place did not live up to the hype because the rooftop is so cute! A friend and I decided to pop in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and to enjoy the beautiful weather. We both ordered smoothies and a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel. Simple right? It took about 20 mins to get our smoothie and 40 mins to receive our food. The smoothie tasted like water and when we got the sandwiches the bagels weren't toasted and the sandwich as a whole was cold. Can't forget the raw onion that surprised us a couple of bites in! Why is there raw onion on a bacon, egg, and cheese (and no it wasn't listed on the menu). Just an overall blah experience..but again, cute ambiance.

Came here and couldn't decide between a smoothie or a smoothie bowl, so I ordered one for breakfast and one for lunch. I got the Kale Me Crazy smoothie that had pineapple, kale, spinach, chia seed, banana, and coconut. I actually enjoyed my drink. It was lightly sweet and I felt really healthy. For lunch, I got the Bees Knees Bowl. It looked small, but it was surprisingly filling. I like the combination, but it was missing something, perhaps another sweet fruit that has texture? The honey and bee pollen were really one-dimensional.

I am tired of the constant racism and racial profiling. Today I asked to speak with a manager. Mike came out and doubted everything I told him. No apology. No understanding. In fact, he constantly interrupted me. When I told him he was interrupting he said, "I just let you speak." A very nasty way to be with a customer. He actually said "why should I believe you over them," and "this is not going to go how you want it to go." What I wanted and what I should have gotten as a customer was an apology and at least a commitment from the store to take my concerns seriously and do better. He assumed I misunderstood and that the responsibility to prove racism occurred fell on my shoulders. He was defensive, rude, and frankly perpetuated the racism I tried to make him see. His only solution was for him to watch the videos to see if they indeed followed me so he could consider "both sides." Everything was about justifying their movements instead of acknowledging what I said. I went to management as a courtesy, but he just ended up making it worse. Goes to show, you can put a mural of a Black woman on the side of your business, you can even hire Black workers, but if you don't do the work of educating your management on customer service and racial profiling, you will lose customers and support.

His staff is always attentive and great at answering any questions you have about the juice! I highly recommend the Firefighter & The Beet Drop because you need ginger and beets (respectively) in your life at least once a week. Short story time: once upon a time I hated beets. The flavor & smell, alone were enough to make me gag. I tried the Beet Drop. I now love beets. It's really good because Ryan found a way to put the best, natural ingredients together a minimize beet's tendency to overpower a dish. Once you try the juice, you'll be back for more.
