I was completely aware that it would probably require a little trial and error to resolve. After being at Chris's for one week they returned my car and stated they replaced several expensive parts but the issue still existed. Great, thanks, I'll give someone else a chance. I scheduled an appointment at another location in hopes they'd have better luck. To my disappointment I learned that the work Chris's charged me for was never done. The mechanic from the 2nd location showed me the original parts and the abysmal workmanship that was performed. I was charged a whole lot of money for work that never occurred. Due to being a professional at his craft, the other mechanic was able to diagnose the problem and fix it to my satisfaction. I understand trying to diagnose a difficult problem but don't tell me you've exhausted all options when it was evident they were not.

There was so much damage done and we were finally able to get it covered by them. Out of all the shops in the area my hubby chose this one due to their really high recommendation from our friends. We decided to give them a try and call them up for a quote for replacing some parts and doing a paint job on our car to fix some chips it had. I honestly didn't think it would look uniform, after all, there are so many shades of red out there. We were really worried about getting some crazy missmatchy stuff. We dropped the car off on a Monday and by Friday it was ready. We were a little nervous to go see it and to our surprise, the paint job was IMMACULATE. Very professional, communicative and precise. Unfortunately, the joke ended up being on me. After driving nearly an hour to see the truck, I found it was in AVERAGE condition, at best. There was some scaling on the frame, significant rust stains on the rear carpet (maybe a water leak?), and fluid residue all over the underside. The Carfax also showed the engine had been replaced, so it's unclear what the actual mileage is on the drivetrain. None of this was disclosed in the ad or by the seller, I had to discover it all myself during the inspection. My interactions and communications were professional and polite, so I would like to believe they were not intentionally deceitful, but I do wish they had done more due diligence before advertising the truck as being in "Excellent Condition." For a truck of that age, I would have fully expected it to need some work and would have been prepared for that. Transparency simply would have gone a long way in making it clear what I was potentially buying. Moral of the story: while they have strong customer ratings (which is why I felt comfortable making the drive), make sure to ask lots of questions, dig deep, and thoroughly research and inspect any vehicle they have listed for sale.
