It was a night for a beer and some conversation. So my husband, my son and I went to this place to hangout. First of all, hanging out with your son is really very fun. I digress, once again. Back to business. This place is a sports bar, it's lively, it has a gazillion tv's, has some arcade machines (just a few) and a very interesting machine where you can win an autographed boxing glove signed by Mike Tyson. I'll pass on that one. We sat in the bar and was waited on promptly. The menus are printed on wood and they look shellacked. I mean, it's a cool touch. We opted for the chips n' dip trio, chicken wings and mac and cheese. All of it was good. The portion of the chips and dip trio was big. All 3 of us shared this and it was definitely enough for all of us. The wings and the mac n cheese was good. Service was great, it was busy but the waitress checked on us a few times. I had a few bud lites, my husband had something like a guiness and my son had a few drinks himself. I like that there are areas for kids because in the bar area, people were dropping the f bomb like crazy. I love sports bar vibes, it's social, it's friendly and I love watching sports. This place is fun and the food is good. Bottom line, would I go back. Heck yea and bring some friends to hang out. Good times. read more

The nachos can only be described as "irresponsible." Seriously, if you can sit and eat that whole tray of them, you better be hitting the treadmill after. Staff is unfailingly cool. The service was really great and the menu had a lot of good looking meals on it but it was very disappointing. The table started out with nachos, they were covered in a velveeta style runny cheese. It did not do anything for the nachos except make them soggy. The traditional wings were good, my niece and nephew liked the mac and cheese. My siblings and I all got burgers. I think the burgers would have been amazing but you could tell it was a frozen patty and it was cooked so long it was like eating a hockey puck. So dry and unsatisfying. I got the Western which had bbq sauce, fried string onions and cheese on it. It was a good bun too but the burger just disappointed us so much. For my side I got the "homemade" mozzerella sticks, they weren't made from scratch and were so overcooked that they tasted burnt. The best part about this place is they have a kid friendly area, which is about 2/3 of the building. They also have a 21 and older area. I've come here with family and buddies. I don't want to sit next to a family when my buddy is dropping the F bomb, nor do I want my family sitting there when someone does. The staff is Superb, they hustle, are nice and can take a joke...as well as dish it out. Food is good bar food. Kids like the pizza and the rest is to be expected for a bar. Definitely a bar. Don't go for the New York Style Pizza because it is not NY Style and if you are looking for NY Style you will be disappointed. Crust is ok, sauce is too sugary for me and 3 x too much cheese AND the cheese is not all mozzarella (a mix of something including cheddar). Amazing patio, great service, but very very mediocre food. Their drink selection is quite large and they seem to be able to make just about anything. There's a private room for larger parties as well. I've had multiple things on the menu and haven't been impressed by a single thing. This is not an actual brick house, I repeat, no bricks! I mean there are some bricks on the inside but a big bad wolf can still blow it down... their menus are made out of wood which is very rustic and fancy. The waiters are cool, and they have tinted windows. I saw my friend's friend Alison on the way here though! She never looked at me :( There's a secret menu option, if you ask for any tall beer extra large with two sugar packets on the side they will take 50% off. A great place to eat! I've only had one negative experience here but it was completely out of the staff's hands. They were understaffed and hit with several groups for lunch leaving every seat filled. Other than the wait long time due to the situation stated above, everything was excellent. Went here with 4 friends tonight. Found a table with 4 chairs and we went to grab another, but were told no due to COVID and we're guided to a larger table. This was great, thanks! However, there was a large group next to us that then added 8 more chairs to their table and no one batted an eye. If you're going to have rules, enforce for everyone. You can't just pick and choose who follows the rules and who doesn't. There were signs posted. Our waitress whined something about her manager and ran away. Here's the skinny on Brewtus, according to me. Who am I? The guy who is not going to steer you wrong. Listen. I don't go out to eat that often. I don't have one of those fancy money trees some of these Fargo people have, with their half-million-dollar McMansions. I have to preserve my hard-earned dollars just like the next blue-collar chump. When I go to part with the fruits of my labors, I expect it to take as much energy to take it as it did to make it. That's Vlad's Law of Thermofinances. Brewtus didn't give me a good return on my investment, at all. If that's all you need to know, you can cut me off right now and go your merry way. Otherwise, here's the elaborate part: Brewtus Brickhouse is a newer construction . It is in a strip mall, which should have been my first red flag. Some joints can pull off the mall thing, but most can not do it. Everyone knows mall pubs are nasty. But, man, they have a nice outdoor seating area with torch lighting. It's a pretty good location, as there is not a lot of competition right in that spot. I believe that is the sole reason it stays busy, as it is one of the few eateries so close to this giant neighborhood to the west. But, do not be fooled. Cars in the parking lot does not equal happys on the tastebuds. As a general rule, I always try out a burger when I visit a bar and grill for the first time. A burger is the easiest thing to make. Brewtus absolutely brewtalized my burger. 12 bucks should get a person a burger that will make them wake up in the morning like they had an amazing date the night before. At Brewtus, my 12 bucks had to be 10 dollars of profit because that burger patty tasted like a clearance item from a Schwan's truck. The amount of fries was virtually nothing. Had I paid $7.99, I might have been more understanding. At 12 bucks, there is no excuse. Adding insult to injury, the food was served in a plastic basket! What is this, Skyline Chili? The Maillard reaction, Brewtus! It is the cornerstone of a great burger. Even a Golden Arches McMonkey can get this right on occasion. The burger was piled with onion and it was bland. Umami! Hit that patty with some magic. Bam! Here's the bottom line. Not a good value. Fargo has two dozen places like this that do it better for less of a sacking to your Federal Reserve. If this place lasts another two years, I'll be amazed. You, as a independent, wholly-owned individual can do whatever you want with your dead presidents, but if you really want to pay your respects to the deceased, take them somewhere else that will bury them with dignity. read more

Three of us went there for dinner. It was seat yourself so it took awhile before the server new we were there. I ordered the meatball entree. It was very dry as was the pasta. So I asked for some additional swedish gravy. When the gravy arrived it was ICE COLD. Not cool, But ICE COLD. Really???? My buddy has a burger which he referred to as a hockey puck. Another Fargo restaurant overrun with flies. We were tormented by flies the entire meal. 2 beers, an appetizer and three entrees was $69. After tip, it was too much considering the quality of the food which was totally average. Also, it was 5:00 on a Friday night and they were absolutely BLASTING a strange choice of adult contemporary music. Not a bad place to hang out, but there is easily room for improvements. First of all the food is just ok. Please don't offer a 5 alarm wing that has no spice at all. I realize that 'hot'(spicy) food is relative, but these 5 star/5 alarm wings were probably around 5000 scoville units... Not spicy at all. They also struggle with putting sports on tvs, not a big deal but it sucks to bother someone so I can watch a live game.
