Hubby and I were in Fargo unexpectedly when sister-in-love's cancer surgery turned out to be more invasive than originally expected and she wound up in the ICU. When things had finally stabilized we decided to take ourselves out and landed at Lucky 13's. This is my kinda joint. Pub atmosphere, perfect (free) popcorn, fantastic retro tuneage, and speedy, efficient service are a given. The food is next level nom nom. They're one of the few restaurants out there that does a Monte Cristo sammich and when it's paired with their custom L13 Tots? Epicurean delights abound. The only reason I'm giving the experience 4 stars (rather than 5) is because their checkout process is entirely too old school. And the pen I was given to sign the receipt had little-to-no ink left in it. I know. Seems petty. I'm a MN native visiting ND and had no idea Lucky's branched out into the Fargo- Moorhead area. As a frequent customer in MN, finding Lucky's in ND felt like home. We were seated promptly and got our complimentary popcorn per usual. I ordered the taco salad bowl with chicken and my husband had a burger. Our server was delightful. The space was clean and mirrored all the other Lucky's establishments. In MN, we have a live station with typically a volunteer running pull tabs. To our surprise, it was a pull tab machine here. This is the second time I've been here. I have found the food to be well prepared. The Cobb salad was very tasty and the Guinness was some of the freshest I've had in the United States. Service was pleasant and efficient. I like that they have booths. It's a rather open area so you can see other clientele, enjoying their food and ambience. I would go back here again. read more

The menu has the usual pub fare - wings, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. But on Saturdays and Sundays from 9-1, the menu expands to things like omelets, hash, Benedicts and breakfast sandwiches. So, when our Friday night hotel bartender recommended Lucky's for breakfast, well, we knew where we'd be headed. The breakfast service we encountered on Saturday was extraordinary, so hats off to our server Beth. Our party of ten walked in when breakfast opened, and she quickly set up a few long tables for our group. Oh, and she set out two coloring activities and crayons for the two young guests in our group. Our breakfast started with complimentary bowls of popcorn and we saw some very interesting eye openers on the menu, like a Breakfast Punch (with Rum, orange and pineapple juice, strawberry purée, and ginger ale), a Lucky's Blueberry Pancake Shooter (with Stoli Blueberry vodka, Butterscotch, Orange Bacardi, and a slice of bacon) and a Keoki Coffee (with Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, coffee and whipped cream). We passed on these alcoholic temptations; Beth took our orders flawlessly and the food started rolling out of the kitchen in no time. We started off with a order of Beignets for the table ($9.99) - "Deep-fried beignets made with croissant dough, topped with powdered sugar & a side of strawberry jam. I tried one and it was very good -piping hot, light as a feather, but surprisingly not greasy. My wife ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet ($13.99 served with her choice of toast and a side of fresh fruit, home fries or cheesy baked hash browns. It was a generous portion and the fruit cup she ordered was fresh and tasty. My Cajun Hash ($15.49 with Andouille disks, shredded chicken, two big shrimp, peppers, onions, cheesy hash, & scrambled eggs) was one of the best breakfasts I've had all year. It was a gigantic portion, and I was more than full with half of it. Beth was automatic with the coffee refills, was very sweet dealing with the two children in our party and gladly gave our couples separate checks. One very cool thing we saw was a "Treasure chest" full of children's toys, coloring books, and activities as freebies for the little darlings that visit. Was driving through Fargo and arrived around 9:45 PM but lucky for us Lucky's is open late! Until 12 AM according to the sign. On Friday night there were quite a few people in the bar area but it wasn't too loud. We were seated in a both away from the bar area. We ordered the fried cheese curds and the full sized nachos with birria beef. The curds came out first. They are on the stiffer side compared to other curds I've had but overall tasted great! The nachos were fine, really generous and huge portion. Beef was a tad dry to me but decent. Definitely welcome stop after driving! read more

I like this place. Although it was not very crowded when I was here, it was loud and I'm certain when it's busy it's deafening. The open floor plan and faux brick walls will do that. But I like that. If you're tired and want to escape from the blah, this will do it. The menu had a good selection, but for a pub, I didn't see the requisite pizza as a choice. However the salads , Mediterranean inspired bowls were a great alternative. Sometimes, not only do we need to escape the blah of a day, but also the blah of the typical burgers and pizza. We always stop in Fargo on our trek to see family in North Dakota from Kansas City. We grabbed a bite here at Lucky's and were impressed with both the food and family friendliness of the pub! I don't know why some of the reviews for this place are lackluster. Solid bar food- the tots were especially tasty. As a traveling parent it was awesome to have a place so welcoming for a toddler- complete with a clean stocked changing area (had extra wipes and even a diaper or two!) and a treasure chest with goodies for our 2 year old to pick from. Super thoughtful kids meal with Oreos as a treat. Service was great and we enjoyed watching the Olympics on one of the many TVs. I'm visiting from out of town and this restaurant was recommended to me. The service was very fast and deserved a 5 star rating. I ordered the cheese curds and they came out as a greasy mass where most of the cheese had melted and flowed outside the batter. The flavor of the few intact curds I salvaged was okay, but nothing special. I also ordered the Brie and Bacon burger. We met or son here for breakfast Saturday morning primarily due to its proximity to his work location and all enjoyed our selections (see pictures). For starters, they bring you a bowl of popcorn (which was very good and not overly salty). On the waitress' recommendation, I ordered the Hangover Quesadilla (very good and fresh - see picture). My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict (see picture) and my son ordered the Breakfast Burrito (see picture). All were on the waitress' recommendation list and all tasted great! Our recent visit to Fargo, ND had us visiting Lucky's 13 Pub and grill. We weren't terribly hungry but wanted some finger food and adult beverages. Nicely done interior, somewhat open kitchen, and several television sets playing sports. The food was really good, but our server was a bit lackluster. Nice enough guy, he just didn't know how to manage his section as a whole. He was running back and forth for individual items rather than hitting his entire section and bringing everything back at once. All good, we weren't in a big hurry. The popcorn bowl was a nice touch. What a great place to watch the Cowboys destroy the New York Giants. Nice atmosphere with a bar, tables and booths with plenty of televisions. Now on to the food. I've been here many times and other locations if theirs in MN and it never disappoints. If you can't find something on this giant menu then you may be too picky of an eater. The menu is almost too big that it overwhelms you but personally I've never found something I didn't like. Just recently came and had a Bloody Mary which comes with a BLT - what isn't to love and the California wrap. That was my first time ordering the wrap and I will definitely be getting it again. I also shared my meal with a friend and they divided it into two plates which is always a perk. We sat and played bingo at the bar and moved to a booth when one became available. The reality is I only went there because it was walking distance from My notes. I saw in the bar area and really enjoyed myself. The food was very good, the beer list on tap was good and prices were outstanding. The bar tender (I wish I could remember her name) was very nice and did an outstanding job. As good as any bartender in a high end bar in the Twin Cities or any major city. I am not sure when I will be back in Fargo, but if I do I will absolutely go there again! read more

I had lunch at Lucky 13 today. I ordered the 2 piece cod fish fry for $17.99. It was 2 fish sticks and some average fries....I expected a couple fish fillets, but these were like the sticks they serve in the school cafeteria. For $18.00 I would expect a bit better than low tier Sysco truck....service was great and beer was cold, so there's that. I've eaten here before and can say the burgers are solid and their weekend breakfast is good. The fish though? Sad. read more

An excellent place to eat breakfast. I got plenty of food and I can eat a lot. It's a little more expensive than most places, but you can reasonably expect to have food to take home. The large portions make it worth the extra $2-$4 versus other places nearby where you need to order a side to get enough to eat. I've also come here for the nightlife a couple times and thought it was great. It gets busy, but it's not as loud as the sport's bars or places with live music. You can actually talk to your friends without shouting. There's plenty of parking and an outdoor section for the summer. You can't go wrong by going here for any meal of the day or just going out for the evening. read more
