Bad experience. I was shopping here for groceries this week when an aggressive medium to large size dog ran at me and barked at me, ripped my shopping bag and then tried to bite my leg making contact with its teeth to my snow pants. As a dog lover, I spent more than 30 minutes looking for the owner who turned out to be a young woman working at the general store named Abbey. When I kindly let Abbey know that her dog had really scared me and he should probably stay closer to her, she yelled at me. Abbey was super quick to snap, start yelling at me and she made sure to tell me multiple times that her boss, the owner of the general store would have her "back", I'm not sure why anyone needed to have her back as I was being super kind and easy to talk to. She didn't need to yell either. The dog attack was one thing, but the Abbey attack was far worse. Horrible experience as a customer simply grocery shopping. Save yourself the crazy hassle and shop at Apple Annie's down the street. read more

If ever you run out of food supplies while visiting Brian Head this store has almost everything you need. Basics like breakfast stuff (grits, oatmeal, creamed wheat, eggs, sausage, bacon), lunch stuff and a few options for meat (taco meat, smoked sausage) This place has what most "general stores" have, and the prices aren't bad either. Came to Brian Head for a family get away. The general store is pricey but I get it though, it's the only store where you'll be able to find just about anything you need without having to drive down the mountain to a grocery store. They have all kinds of goodies, ingredients, gifts, knick knacks and etc. We had shortness of breath due to the high elevation so they had oxygen in a can which was very helpful. We bought so much candy and I got new moccasin shoes! I love all their hoodies, sweatshirts and shirts!!! Friendly staff and good customer service. They had everything we needed that we ran out or forgot to bring. I'm very thankful for that. The lady was friendly. Quick in and out with no waiting. Happy they were open and had the things we needed. Funny to see how strict they were about covid-19 in 2020 and in 2021 not so much. People are always so unhappy with whatever is happening. We went in January 2022. We wore our masks. No one else were wearing them. It's ok, we're not bothered or upset by it. read more

Nicely supplied mountain General Store to get you by in a pinch. Went there twice over the few days we were there and disappointed with the customer service. First time we went in the young woman behind the register fully ignored the fact that we were even in the store and seemed more annoyed that we were interrupting her Snapchat time on her phone while working. We went back the next day to grab some cold meds and saw that hours open till 8:30PM. We walked up at 8:12PM and door was locked with lights on. I saw a person in the back of the store and knocked on the door, then was greeted with them turning the lights off on me. Now that is true mountain resort hospitality right there. I guess your posted hours mean nothing to those in need of something. For your rudeness you get a 2 star review. read more

This store has a large variety of food and other items. They also have friendly staff who go out of their way. They gave me a jump start the other day when I had left my lights on while skiing. I just went in to ask if they knew who to call and they insisted on helping me out on the spot. I've enjoyed shopping here both summer and winter. They also keep long hours and 7 days a week. read more

If you care about safety from Covid I would not recommend going here. I asked several employees why they do not enforce mask wearing and each time I was told that management did not care. The employees were not even wearing masks despite signs saying masks required. I was very disappointed with how Brianhead handled Covid and will not be returning anytime soon unfortunately read more

I respect those who are concerned about covid, but this shop took it too far. Hand washing station with instructions on how long you have to wash hands was too much for me. Also chasing down a child with disabilities to put on his mask was just over the top. He proceeded to stand there and say he can't wear masks...you wouldn't have heard that though, you were too busy yelling at people. read more

5 star rating for the owners grandson running the shop, exceptional customer service to myself and the guest checking out before me. Per "covid" regulations there is a hand washing station right when you walk in to the store, keeping it all nice and clean! I went just for an ice cream with my nephew but they always have the best Brianhead gear in this shop too! read more

When I first entered and saw the "mask required" and "please wash your hands" signs - and the station right by the door to wash your hands - including instructions to take at least 20 seconds at it - I was ELATED! At last, a grocery store in Southern Utah who took COVID seriously. Washed my hands, picked up my groceries, went to check out and the cashier was NOT wearing a mask. Oh well, I thought, they have that plastic shield up. I'm safe. Oh no.. she stands behind the cash register which is not shielded. So I say, "I'm so happy that you are taking the mask thing seriously. I was in the Smith's in Cedar City and half the people there were unmasked." Staring at me coldly she said, "Well some of us just don't get it." I'm stunned. "Well it's my health I say." Another cold look. Then, "Have a nice afternoon." So I'm wondering...is this the owner? If so, I don't get THIS attitude at all. If not the owner, why are you allowing this person to work here and not follow YOUR rules. Why you feel you have the right to endanger my health (I am in a high risk category) I do not understand. I will never go in this store again. read more

Well I can't say anything good because no one was in the store weeping it open when they should. It's the only groceries store in the area but they closed early. Last night we arrived at 8.45. The Yelp site says hours for Saturday night was to 9.30. In front of their store they listed 9pm. Either way, there we sat! They had closed early. No one there anymore! I called and could hear the phone ringing in the dark abandoned store. Four more cars came to buy stuff and they all left empty handed. If I had a community store like that and for some urgent reason could not keep an employee in my store to cover store hours, at the minimum I would leave a note expressing my regret to the public that was relying on my published store hours (those are even not matching). But here nothing. In Italy where I come from, this is a huge disrespect to the community. read more

would have given them 3 stars but attitude was that of "NO CARE" when I called this morning and spoke with the lady whom answered ... we stayed in the condos across the street .. we bought things here when we ran out instead of going all the way into Parowan or even Cedar City as we were visting from St George (1 1/2hours away). ....they are pricey but it is high in the mountains .. Sunday evening I went by just before they closed to get a gallon of milk since the kids would need it for cereal in the morning ...I did not bother to check the expiration date since that is the job of the owners ..anyhow, this morning when the kids got up to have breakfast it was stringy and smelled ...we looked at the expiration date and it was August 24th ...a whole week had passed and it was OVERDUE ..anyhow we were in a rush to get back to town so I called them just so they knew about the bad milk they sold me ....and all she said was thanks for bringing it to our attention ...seriously???? you sold me bad milk and then you can't even ask if you can send me the $5.95/gallon tax included for you selling me a bad product ...so that the next time I come back to Brianhead I will still want to visit your store ....bad service ...you're not going to earn my business when you cant even have the decency to make that wrong a right ..... read more

The lady at the store was so helpful! We had a 5 year old with super bad altitude sickness, the store clerk told us about the mountains secret canned peaches. It helped so much! The nausea went away. On top of it all the store clerk said she would look up movie times for us so we could take her down to ceded city. So nice and helpful! Love it up here in Brianhead! read more

Picked up some items in this store that we needed for our stay. definitely would recommend hitting a real grocery store if you need a lot of items but we got a lot of good snack foods some beer and some juices for the kids at a reasonable price and the lady who was working the front was super sweet! read more

This store is well stocked and prices are very reasonable for a ski resort. The staff is super friendly and gave me lots of info on the town. They have an awesome selection of "Brian Head" tee shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc. I arrived late and this was the only place open in Brian Head and I was so grateful to grab food for dinner and breakfast at my condo. They also have a great selection of microwavable sandwiches. I tried the chicken one the next day for lunch and it was fantastic. Oh, they also have FREE WiFi which was great as I could not get my cell phone to roam. read more

This place is nice and close a little expensive but it will do plus there is nothing else around so u really do not have a whole lot to pick from unless u bring all ur stuff in, but it never fails we always leave something behind so thank goodness for this place. BHGS has a little bit of everything in the sundries department you might need if you are staying in the area.Remember the Utah beer law, it's gonna take your twice as many beers..wait...check that...at 9,600 feet in altitude, unless your acclimatized, this might not be a factor. Does not take AMX and wait for instructions from the clerk behind the counter before swiping your card. All in all, this general store will do in a pinch. read more

The lady at the store- Kristi, is one of the nicest people I have ever met, she also does interior design! She is very helpful and will talk to you with an upbeat attitude, the store prices are a little expensive, but what can you expect from Brian Head? They do have a nice selection of beers for the thirsty, but no hard alcohol, as the town only allows for one liquor store. If you need some supplies, drop by this place! read more
