Welcome to a 1950's traditional American diner! On entry you will be met with the amazing smell of fried food! This place is not a "run of the mill diner" with prepackaged nasty food! The diner offers fried mushrooms and the best onion rings I have eaten in many years! The burgers also have a good fresh taste to them and will leave you satisfied!

Finally tried Hermie's. I had the basic hamburger with fried zucchini (served with ranch dressing) and my husband tried the Navajo taco. Both were good. We took them next door to Main Street park as we had our dog with us. Sitting inside waiting for our order I thought it was a little loud (busy with a 1/3 of the tables occupied on a Saturday around 6:30pm). We were able to step right up to order as they were well staffed. The workers kept busy between orders and the gal who took our order was helpful and friendly. We'll come back and try some of their other items for sure. Be sure to notice the paper on the counter. It describes what comes on their burgers, a few of their sandwiches & the 2 dinner choices. The wall menu board has no descriptions so on anything else, just ask for details.

We were told by a friend that Hermie's was a must try if going to Cedar City. So glad we took their advice, it was amazing! We ordered two different burgers, zucchini sticks, waffle fries and a chicken dinner. Everything was so good, I couldn't believe how soft the fry bread was. Don't be discouraged if the line is long, the employees get the orders in and the food out quickly. All the staff is also super friendly and helpful with what to pick on the menu. The inside is also cutely decorated and they keep it really clean. Definitely will return next time we're in Cedar City.

This is DEFINITELY one of those places. It has a bit of a High Tea with the Mad Hatter vibe, which is fantastic. The interior, needs some floor plans to help break up the unobstructed line of site in the restaurant. With a concept like this, you want little places where you can duck and hide from the public. Plants are a great way of doing this. The menu is very nice. They actually have the menus to mix and match. They have their standard food menu, an extensive selection of beets, wines, mixed libations and even a very nice selection of non alcohol drinks as well. The server did a great job of pointing out her favorites including a fried avocado appetizer that is diabolically tasty! For the main meal I went with the Spicy Burger. It wasn't very spicy but out had wonderfully fresh jalapeño slices and guacamole on top. The burger could use a little more seasoning, but, it was a very thick and juicy piece of meat. It comes with fries and a dipping sauce that is also house made. For dessert I tried their carrot cake. It's very good but it's missing the variations in texture that most people look toward carrot cake of providing. It's a very moist cake topped with more of a butter icing than a cream cheese icing. If there is cream cheese in that icing, I would recommend that you switch it toward Philadelphia Cream Cheese since it offers a bit more of a lemon bite to it. The cake itself has no fruit. So, off you hate raisins, have no fear. They are not in there. But, it would be nice if they did have some sort of fruit in the cake to help break up tie monotony of the cake itself. Toss Is a place that is definitely thinking outside the box and so far, it seems to be working really well. A great place right in the center of town with lots of parking and access in both the front and the back of the restaurant. My server did a great job of making suggestions and making certain that my water glass was always full! Keep up the great work!

The cortado was very nice to drink. It was smooth yet bold in coffee flavor. The breakfast sandwich was very good. The breakfast sandwich came with a friend egg, crispy bacon, spinach, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, and a house spread, which was tasty. If only they would have toasted the ciabatta bread it would have been great. My friend mentioned the apple nachos were great. The sliced green apples were crisp, the granola tasty and crunchy, and the drizzle of honey was perfect. The service was very good. The peeps were friendly and welcoming. The shop shares some space with a yoga studio, so the bathrooms are large and spacious, have toiletries for freshening up, and some even have showers! For a small town coffee shop, Bristlecone really blew it out of the waters and amazed me! I'm super happy we stopped in, and can't wait for my next drive up to Brian Head to stop in again!!!

We were a couple blocks from Southern Utah University and we chose Jimmy John's alongside several other choices. SUU was actually one of my first college choices, but my parents weren't ready for me to leave home right after high school and they instead wanted me to stay in Nevada and attend college at home. To take a break from driving for a bit, we decided to dine in. I don't think I've ever had Jimmy John's before until this trip. It wasn't too busy inside so we were helped out right away. We both ordered two Little John sandwiches so we wouldn't be stuck with anything massive. I ordered the tuna salad Little John and my LTP ordered the spicy east coast Italian Little John. He considered getting a drink at the gas station next door, but changed his mind and got a drink here. These were some very good sandwiches! Their restrooms were also very clean; this is a major plus for someone stopping here during a road trip. I know Jimmy John's is a chain, but I totally recommend if you ever stop in Cedar City.

While ordering at the counter, I needed to make a quick adjustment after getting confused about one of the items. During that moment, a 'white' gentleman was waiting behind me, and instead of simply acknowledging him with "I'll be with you shortly," the lady staff apologized to him for my delay in ordering (according to her). Shortly after, while I was still in the middle of ordering and asking about tea options, she abruptly moved on to take his order without any explanation or communication. The interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable as well I felt strong I am treated with racism, especially in the condition when I was pregnant who crave all good food.... As for the food, most of it was enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on the croissant and the pancakes were well done. However, the onion soup was overly salty, likely due to the cheese which was in the soup and also on the bread. Another downside, especially as first-time visitors, was the lack of guidance. We weren't informed that water was self-serve, and only realized it after noticing another guest getting it themselves. Interestingly, when leaving, we saw staff pouring water for newly seated guests, which added to the inconsistency. Overall, the food showed effort from the kitchen, but the service experience was disappointing. The 2-star rating is mainly in appreciation of the quality of the dishes. Cafe is quite small and we felt hot, as there's only a portable AC that couldn't accommodate that size of room. Not recommended place, even this is one of the rarest cafe in town. Rather to spend money to somewhere worthy and respect you as guest, no matter what roots you have.
