From the moment I called Dr. Hwang's office and spoke with Sandie to schedule my consultation, my experience with both of them has been exceptional and worth every penny. Sandie explained that the consultation would take about two hours, which surprised me because other surgeons' offices had told me their consultations only lasted 30-45 minutes. Had Extended Tummy Tuck with muscle repair, lipo 360, hip lipo, arm lipo, and chin lipo. Recovery went great and yes Dr Wang was always there for me if I had questions and or any issues that came up post op. My recovery over all went great. Arm lipo turned out very well, muscle repair and incision healed very well. Hip lipo left me with a deflated ballon look. My skin elasticity was not the greatest from what Dr HWang said. Now the fat taken out just left that area looking empty. However The biggest issue now that I am 2 years post op is that I am not happy at all and actually saddened with the PLACEMENT of my Tummy tuck scar. Met with Dr Wang just a few weeks before the One year mark post op, which he suggested we wait a year before treating the scar. At this appointment he basically said he didn't know why He placed the scar so high and that a lot of the final results had to do with how each person heals. I don't believe that has anything to do with placement! He suggested a scar revision, but of course I would be responsible for Operating room fees as well as Anesthesia fees. I don't agree with having to spend any more money for a mistake that He made. The reason for getting a Tummy tuck is the same as most you considering it... to show my stomach with no shame. Unfortunately with the final results I can't do that. I have to be careful with what I'm wearing in order to keep my scar hidden. My bottoms must be High-waisted and even then I have to pull them up often because if they roll down a bit the scar will show on one side. Also the scar is not neat at all, yes I understand fair skin does heal a lot better than darker skin tones. I do not have an issue with the tone of the scar, it the placement was lower, it wouldn't show!!! Dr did offer to do a small scar revision in office to avoid any additional fees. Not to fond of doing this because at the end of the day he said the scar placement will be the same after the revision because there is No skin to pull down and lower the scar placement. Dr HWang also suggested a skin pigmented tattoo, I asked if he would be responsible for the tattoo fees and he replied with "No we typically aren't responsible for that" I'd like to add that during this one year post op, almost at every appointment he would mention to wait a year and after a year we could begin looking into what our options for treating the scar. Someone mentioned to me that this may have been to cover himself with statute of limitations. I will end this saying that my husband made sacrifices to save money in order to pay for my procedure. To us it was a Large sum of money and I trusted him completely, unfortunately my results are not what I expected. A few months back I reached out to schedule the scar revision in his office, his coordinator Sandy said Dr HWang wanted to see me in his office before scheduling. It's a 2 hour Drive from my area. At my last in office visit he had revised the scar and told me to call and schedule the procedure when ready so I don't understand why I have to go for another revision. Don't know where to start. Dr. Hwang basically saved my life. I had a very severe case of sleep apnea because I had broken my nose 3 times. Besides having trouble sleeping I couldn't do many activities because I was basically breathing through my mouth 70% of the time out of habit. He did an amazing job on my nose. Dr. Brian Hwang started out very attentive during our initial office visit regarding lipo. After deciding to move forward with the procedure, I scheduled the pre-op visit and the surgery during the same week. During my pre-op visit, I inquired about a BBL in conjunction with my lipo procedure. Dr Hwang stated that I didn't have much fat to transfer for the BBL and suggested that since the amount of fat being used was minimal that he could do it for an additional $2000. When I asked if he would consider doing it for $1500, Brian then stated that he would have his assistant, Maribel send a price email with an updated price quote, later that night, I received a price quote of $5500, well over the additional $2000 he quoted during my pre-op appointment . At this point I was confused and it was obvious the we were not on the same page. Therefore, I asked to cancel the procedure until we were able to clarify the details and pricing. The following day, I picked up the initial monies paid. Then, reached out to Dr. Brian Hwang to get some clarity on the procedure and he didn't return my calls or emails, which was absolutely NOT professional and shows his lack of tenure. Brian Hwang is a young and new plastic surgeon that clearly doesn't understand how to handle a patient, which ask questions that he's not professionally prepared to answer. It's obvious that he's not a man of his word and lacks tenure, since he refuses to call me back like a professional doctor would. I can only assume that he was upset that I canceled the surgery and not willing to spend unnecessary money. I was trying to put off Brotox for as long as possible but I finally gave in. Luckily I chose the best provider possible in Dr. Brian Hwang. I couldn't believe how accommodating he was with his busy schedule. I initially went in wanting Botox but with his expertise he recommended Dysport which I found lasts nearly twice as long as regular Botox.
