I had my one-week post-op today. I had an explant with full capsulectomy, no lift. The surgery took place at the beautiful hospital of Providence Cedar Sinai in the Valley. The surgery was covered by insurance due to pain and encapsulation. To say that Dr Hirsch exceeded my expectations would be a huge understatement. What he did was a miracle. The surgery was done beyond efficiently, and I felt no pain, no discomfort... nothing. It was as if I never had anything done. Even the process of removing the drains today was totally painless. On top of everything, my breasts look much better than I anticipated, and I will not need a lift. The attention and support from the staff were also incredible. I have contemplated writing this review and it's taken me over a year to finally decide to. I honestly really like Dr. Hirsch, he has a great bedside manner, and just down to earth that it seemed like an easy choice for me to choose him as my surgeon. I belonged in a popular BII group where I only saw reviews that favored Dr. Hirsch that I thought he would be the best choice for me as well. Looking back and digging deeper on their posts, I realized some of these women wanted their implants out more than anything that they didn't care at all about the aesthetic appearance. With FB you also have to censor photos which makes it hard to tell how someone's results truly turn out. When I decided to finally post my results in the group, I started getting comments and DMs from women who had similar experiences and results as mine but weren't allowed to post about them or gave up trying to fix them. I definitely wish I would seen these reviews and posts before my surgery. I had my enbloc Capsulectomy and breast lift procedure 11/2023 and the surgery and recovery went very smooth with mild pain afterwards. Immediately after surgery I noticed one breast was bigger than the other and my nipples were in different spots, but at my first post op appointment, Dr. Hirsch assured me it was due to some swelling and to give it time to go down and settle in place. When the bandages came off I didn't get that excited feeling but instead felt regretful that I went through with the surgery. My right breast came out really good with minimal scaring and just a small indentation at the bottom, but unfortunately my left breast is noticeably smaller (almost a full cup) with an indentation that feels tight and runs from the bottom of my areola to the fold of my breast, which unfortunately is noticeable in clothes and swimsuits because of the unevenness. On that same breast I also have some left over areola going down my anchor scar and the areola is uneven. When Dr. Hirsch's nurse Karla reached out to me in 5/2024 to see how I was doing and to share my review in the BII group pages, I expressed my concerns and scheduled a follow up with him. When I showed him in person the areas of concern which were the painful indentation and uneven areolas, he looked at Karla and they looked at each other puzzled and said they didn't see what I was seeing. When I pointed out the indentation again saying how I feel tugging when I lift my arms or bend down, he said I wouldn't be feeling it in that area and that the indentation could be from my sports bras and to wear an underwire bra to help shape. He stated that my nipples were only 1cm off and that if I wanted he can do an in office procedure and cut skin above the areola to lift it and even them out as well as cut the scar tissue to help the indentation. Fast forward to 3/2025 I ended up doing the in office procedure to cut the scar tissue to "release" it but the indentation is still there and my areolas are still uneven with the leftover areola running down my breast. Honestly I'm happy for the women who have had great results from Dr. Hirsch, but there are also women out there like me who didn't and most seem to be uneven nipples/areolas and/or indentations. It's depressing with the breasts I'm left with because I've read his countless reviews of women praising him, his wife promotes him in my local FB mom's group when mom's ask for a great plastic surgeon, and he's on the list of surgeons from the BII group. During the consultation he makes you feel confident that you're going to have the best results by showing you the before and after of his best work stating the patient is a similar case to yours. Unfortunately, I don't think my breasts results are worth paying over $12k for and wish I had considered more options. :( read more

I've waited to write a review because my health took a turn for the worse, and that has been my main focus. So I can confirm- breast implant illness was NOT my issue. But I cannot begin to tell you how my biggest regret ever is going down the BII rabbit hole on Facebook, where he is promoted. I tried to write about my results and experience later, and it was not accepted as a post. So it is easy to see what is going on there. Nice enough guy initially, but I am left with deformed breasts, EXTREMELY high nipples that show in EVERY single bra, so I cannot wear a low cut shirt and it is impossible to wear a cute bathing suit. I also have an INDENT in the center of my chest where he didn't cut me open properly and also uneven to my other breast, if I wear any sort of low cut shirt (I can't) it is also exposed. So I have nipples and an indent showing. All of the breast tissue has completely fallen to the bottom, with my nipples at the top/on my high flat chest. This was such a HUGE decision for me and I cannot believe I followed toxic FB groups (bii by nicole) to come here. I have so many severe health issues that I'm unable to just go under anesthesia to casually get cut open all over again to fix this. So I am stuck having to hide my body once again. I am 34 and I am heartbroken over this. Please Get off the Facebook pages, there are so many incredible Doctors out there, this has changed my life for the worse. read more

My Experience with Dr. Hirsch, Has been nothing but the BESTt. The nurse that was there on the day of my Surgery and when I woke up from my Surgery. She was the sweetest. She will forever be in my heart. I can't thank each one enough. Karla is an excellent communicator, and has always been in touch with me, to answer all my questions and concerns, before and after the Surgery. Dr. Hirsch is very skilled and ethical. I wanted to update my review since it's been almost 7 years since I got my reduction and healed. I still cannot say enough on how incredible Elliot Hirsch and his team are! After my healing period was done I did become self conscious about my scars. When I'd tell someone I was dating about them I'd be told, "If you hadn't said anything I never would have noticed." so it's clearly just a *me* thing and in no way reflects badly or at all negatively on Hirsch, his team, or his work. I showed a lot of my friends because so many were curious about how they'd look post-op. Everyone who's seen them has given me great reviews about how they look lol. And for any and everyone they asked I gave them the info for his office. I will also say that the only real discomfort I felt during healing was the little tubes from the swelling containers (I called them my blood grenades )... but they only caused me pain near the end once I stopped swelling and they were no longer needed. I wanted them out immediately after that, but was told I still had a week left with them and they wanted me to go through their given time limit just in case anything happened in that last week, but the nurse on the phone gave me a laundry list of things I could do to help minimize the pain they were causing. I didn't argue, because this field is nowhere near my expertise. So... that was just fine. I waited that extra week while . Otherwise there was no issue. I was properly prescribed all the pain meds I needed to get through it with as little discomfort as possible. We also honestly had never talked about exact sizing until just before the surgery. He brought that up and asked how small I'd like to go. I said I preferred to be as flat as possible, but if that didn't work for my body type then (I lifted up my chest and said) "I never want to see anymore underboob on my body that exceeds this. And I want to *never* *need* to wear a bra *ever* again." He kinda laughed and said "Ok, you got it." I was an F cup for the size of my body and was immensely top heavy for being as small as I was. I hated it. Once everything settled post-op and the swelling was gone I found I floated between a large A or small B (depending on the brand). I LOVED it! I had the exact amount of underboob I told him I wanted and nothing more. He wasn't kidding! He said "you got it" and I got it! That was already wild enough to me that he got the exact size and look I had wanted for myself since I was 16, even though my request was vague and kinda broad. On top of that, despite my weight fluctuating through the years between smaller and larger and my breasts getting a little bigger to accommodate that (roughly around a mid to high B cup and even small C cup at times depending on the brand of bra, of course) I still have the same amount of underboob I requested at 33 and am now just a few days past 40. They're still great and perky and I still don't *need* a bra.... and this is without me having done any upper body exercises because I just do not like working out lol. Even though I've since moved away from Cali... If I ever need or want anything done or even if I find I want a reduction again bc I just prefer having a much smaller bust... I'm flying out to Cali to see him, as I don't think I'd trust another Dr with my plastic surgery the way I trusted Hirsch. So overall... thanks again a million times over for being a great surgeon, having a wonderful kind team with lovely bedside manner, reworking my bust so all my old physical insecurities are gone, and getting rid of my shoulder and back pain at the time! And future shoulder/back pain I would have definitely gotten had I not gone for a reduction. read more

Choosing Dr. Hirsch was the best decision I could have made for my explant surgery. I had a consultation with another doctor that didn't specialize in explants but his website indicated he performed them. I was disgusted with that surgeon's bedside manner. He indicated that I was going to be "disappointed in my results without implants" due to my natural breast shape and that he wouldn't do an En Bloc due to possibly puncturing a lung. He spent maybe 10 minutes with me. In that moment I discovered the importance of choosing a doctor that specializes in breast implant removal. When I had my consultation with Dr. Hirsch, he was warm and took his time. He even drew me pictures of what to expect without a lift based on my natural shape. The consultation was 30 minutes and he showed me pictures of results from women with similar breast shape and profiles as mine. He reassured me that my case wasn't anything out of the ordinary. After that appointment I knew my search was over. I had my explant surgery 1/2/24 and everyone at the Avalon surgery center was amazing. I received such quality care. They made me feel at ease the whole time. After the surgery, Dr. Hirsch personally talked with my partner about my surgery and aftercare. Several hours after the surgery we noticed that my right drain had a lot more blood and coagulation. I also had serious side effects to the norco, passing out anytime I tried to walk. I was reluctant to call the doctor because by this time it was 10:30pm. My partner convinced me to call the doctor and he immediately answered and FaceTimed with me. He guided my partner to help slow the bleeding and called us back an hour later to check on the progress. He requested that we come back the next day to see me in person with the possibility of needing an additional surgery, simply because of how my body was reacting to the surgery. He called his staff at midnight to inform them of my arrival and what to expect. We arrived that next morning at 6:15am and the Avalon staff was concerned and showed me great care. Dr. Hirsch immediately checked me and he decided to go in for another quick surgery to ensure any clotting in my right breast was removed. They made me feel at ease even with this unexpected complication. I ALWAYS felt like I was in good hands. Today is 3 weeks post op and my healing is going smoothly and WOW I love how they look, even though I still have my stitches in! They honestly look better than I imagined!! I finally have the breasts I've always wanted and they're all natural! Throughout this journey I have always felt like I made the best decision choosing Dr. Hirsch and going back to natural. Let's start from the beginning... I was referred to Dr. Hirsch and I am extremely grateful. All the women in the office are kind and make you feel comfortable. My first meeting with Dr. H was a great experience. He spent time with me to assess what my surgery would entail, what my wants and goals were, and what was a realistic expectation within my budget and time restraints for healing. I saw Dr. Hirsch last year after being diagnosed with a ventral herniation and a rectus diastasis. I was in excruciating pain from that injury, and a visceral component that had yet to be diagnosed. I had to have an advocate accompany me to help communicate. He essentially dismissed all my concerns and turned me away. He said I "should be careful" like I didn't understand the reason I was there. Like I was stupid or something. I was later also diagnosed with nerve damage, trauma to my diaphragm and GI system, and a talented osteopath found a lot of defects along my chest wall from the soft tissue injury. My rectus sheathes had ripped apart and off chest wall as well as my linea alba. Since I was not able to receive timely care for the injury, it proliferated. I felt tearing going all over my chest and abdomen and am in constant discomfort now. My obliques / transversus muscles now don't activate properly and I have MRI confirmation they have partially torn from my rib cage, which could have been prevented if I had received timely treatment. The laxity from very superficial layer of connective tissue / fascial layer continuing to tear open has caused extremely uncomfortable hypermobility through my whole body and wrecked my skin. Explanted Feb 25, 2020 with the Amazingly talented Dr. Elliot Hirsch in Sherman Oaks, CA. I consulted with 8 different doctors before a "Breastie" in a facebook group personally messaged me after seeing a post i had made about being frustrated with the doctors i had considered. I live in Las Vegas so i flew in to Burbank about a month prior to my surgery to meet Dr Hirsch in person and do my pre op with him in office (this was something I elected to do on my own and was not necessary but i felt strongly I wanted to meet the doctor before my surgery day, the office did NOT require this pre op appointment in person) I was really happy I did go to meet the amazing team that supports Dr Hirsch that I was in contact with so often especially Natalia, Karla, and Kasandra. My husband and I flew into California the day before my surgery, stayed at the Sheraton in Pasadena, got some provisions for 2 nights we spent there and enjoyed our last night out before surgery. We arrived at the Avalon Surgery Center at 6am and met with my nurses and the surgery center's amazing staff. Then Dr. Hirsch came in and started to do some markings and just chat with me. I was surprisingly calm and ready. Just as quickly as i was put under, i was being woke up and felt a little strange. I don't remember much besides looking down and my breasts looked so perky and beautiful. I remember the doctor coming by to check on me and i was so happy to see him. He told me he would call me that night to check on me, which he did. He also called the following day before i left LA. He is just the greatest guy ever! You can tell he really cares about his patients. I left LA 24 hrs after surgery and felt fine. I used a wheel chair at LAX but i was never uncomfortable or in any pain. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with my entire experience with my total capsulectomy, and bilateral mastopexy. I also had liposuction of my torso 360 degrees and my upper arms. I DIDN'T have fat transfer. All of the breast tissue I have is what Dr Hirsch beautifully crafted from my natural breasts. The liposuction went as smooth as i could possibly imagine. I am still very swollen and still doing my after care massages and infrared therapy and wearing my compression garments with Lipo foam padding. Little bit of my breast history: I had 450 cc smooth saline implants under the muscle for 10 years. I am 35 years old and have 2 children ages 5 and 1. I am 5'8 and the day of surgery i was 190lbs. I had just lost 65lbs since the birth of my son 11/20/18. I was waiting to have surgery until my son was weaned and was walking. I moved in with my parents so that they could hell me for 4 weeks since i cannot lift my son yet. (My husband is a firefighter and works 24 hr shifts) Since surgery i have gained about 10 lbs but I imagine this is all due to swelling and not being very active. My pain is very minimal and mostly in my breasts where is assume the muscle repair was done. Sometimes the incisions are itchy but there is no pain. Dr. Hirsch is the best! For years I've wanted to get my implants removed but was worried about how my breasts would look after a lift. I was told from multiple other surgeons that I would be left completely flat chested and would need fat transfer. However, I don't have enough fat for that, so not an option. My husband was referred to Dr. Hirsch for a skin cancer removal on his nose. This has been going on for almost a year with the insurance etc, trying to get the cancer removed. We FINALLY got the surgery scheduled with Dr. Hirsch and my husband called a few days before the actual surgery for directions and was informed Dr. Hirsch had opted out of our insurance last week. NO ONE HAD EVEN CALLED MY HUSBAND! He'd have driven all the way to Sherman Oaks and been turned away if he hadn't called for directions. This is outrageously unprofessional behavior. It's been one year since my breast reduction surgery with Dr. Hirsch. I wanted to wait to write this review so that I can give a better overall explanation on my experience, and results. My initial interaction with the office and Dr. Hirsch started off very positive with Dr. Hirsch, not so much so with the girls in the office. The young ladies in the office were very "snooty" for the lack of better words, and carried an attitude when I asked a question. That should've been a warning sign, a red flag for me to question whether if this was a right place for me, but I overlooked it. I'll start by for sharing my experience with the communication on insurance coverage and financial responsibility. The office did an extremely poor job on explaining the coverage and financial responsibility from the start, which until this day has been an issue with resolving payments that I keep getting told they will handle, but I still am receiving notifications on that is past due on my end. Extremely frustrating!!!! As for my surgery, my complaint would be the lack of post surgery instructions from the medical staff to best care for my procedure and achieve best results. From the start I started developing scar tissues that I was pointing out in every follow up appointment, and was told it will go away. It is one year after my procedure and my scar tissues have developed so thick and it is extremely uncomfortable. I have never had keloids, or scar tissue developed so thick with any procedures or cuts in the past. Overall, I'd say save yourself the headache and go somewhere else! read more

Can't express how happy I am with my experience at Dr. Hirsch's office. Went in today for my second microneedling treatment. First one was a month ago. Jo Halliday, his esthetician is amazing. She's very inviting, caring, experienced and extremely knowledgable. She makes me look forward to me next treatment. As for the results, I'm thrilled. I was concerned about pores getting larger with age, melasma on my forehead and just general anti aging prevention. So far, I see my skin glowing like never before and feels much softer to the touch. Just had surgery about 2 weeks ago for a breast augmentation and so far I am loving how my breast are looking. He knew exactly what look I wanted to go for and I just can't get over how good they look and how fast I'm healing. He is an amazing plastic surgeon I am definitely going to be recommending my friends and family to him. Dr. Hirsch is a top notch plastic surgeon! I am so glad I found him on a breast explant chat group on facebook. Before I saw Dr. Hirsch I saw 3 plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills who I did not have the best experience with and just felt so pretentious along with their Beverly Hills ticket price. One doctor made me wait an hour before I was able to see him! I did my research for Dr. Hirsch as I had with the other doctors and saw that he was a very experienced doctor with breast explants and anyone I asked about him had nothing but good things to say about him and one nurse told me he was an artist at his job. I also saw that he had been on the news/tv talking about breast explant surgery. I decided to go with Dr. Hirsch for my Enbloc Capsulectomy and mastopexy and I cannot be happier with my decision!!! My whole life I grew up with large fluctuation in weight. At one point I had finally got down to a comfortable weight but because of the quick changes in weight I had a lot of loose skin that I could not get rid of. I got to the point where I continued to lose weight in an attempt to get rid of the skin but to no avail. With all my weight struggles, I finally decided at the age of 30 to follow through and get a tummy tuck and surgery on excess fat in my breast. It was extremely nerve wrecking, but after my consultation with Dr. Hirsch I knew this was the place I'd be getting my surgery. It is now nearly a year later and I could not be happier with the results. I feel great about myself and the work that was done. She is very pleasant and qualified at what she does. She explained that results will show after a few treatments and she is correct. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A CANCER PATIENT!!! Insurance patients make less money for Dr. Hirsch and you will feel it. They may blame the patient as the problem; I can promise I would never be willing to delay my surgery and pay $6500 out of pocket (I had to take out a loan) for no reason. Cancer patients should be treated with kindness and empathy given everything we are going through; that is not at all what you get here. Go elsewhere! 1. 2 1/2 weeks out of surgery called the office in pain wanting to come in. Wasn't upset -figured they would see me. Told to send a photo/email. Shared I had nothing to email as it was about pain; Was told, "I gave you options of what you can do." Was stunned; said I would call surgical oncologist; asked for Dr. Hirsch to call me as I couldn't believe this was okay. Two minutes later received a call I could come in, be prepared to sit and wait; they will get to me when they can. I'm just surviving my 3rd surgery from cancer and having my breasts taken off; this is how I'm treated for being in pain? I didn't receive any kindness by anyone when I got there. Felt like I was a bad person annoying this office. 2. They will not schedule more than one fill at a time (convince you every office does this; not true). Have a job and this proved to be stressful as I couldn't get good times so late. Had to take entire day off work for a five minute fill as it was in the middle of the day; the location of my home-work it didn't make sense to spend four hours in my car. 3. They tell you nothing about what is happening. I received records; they were not accurate. Never told about things happening during the surgery; yet my records show I was informed all during preop. Nope! Found out when I was asking questions after surgery. 4. KASSANDRA SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO WORK WITH CANCER PATIENTS!! I have never been treated so cold at a doctor's. Ignored me when I arrived; shoved me in a room. Once Kassandra wasn't there, saw how maybe other people were treated. I was greeted, asked how I was; offered water. 5. This part is going to sound made up; I assure you it's not. Arrived for appt and told they already saw last patient. Was going weekly so had an appt that Kassandra didn't record. Natasha said they would see me. Grabbed key and went to use restroom. Returned and door was locked. Figured Kassandra didn't know I had come and locked the door thinking they were done. Knocked and waited and waited. Thought I heard someone come to the door. Waited. Tried the door again cause I swore I heard someone. As I opened the door I saw Kassandra walking back to her desk. WHO DOESN'T OPEN THE DOOR????? 6. Since September talking to Brittany about final surgery. As middle school admin coverage is needed. Hoping for a surgery at beginning of December. Brittany kept telling my type A to calm down don't worry; all will be fine. I will get it then they couldn't schedule until fills were done; two months before the surgery. Type A asked about it every time; told to stop worrying. Knew in my gut they were dismissing me; figured I have to trust. Last fill in October. Brittany shared takes 3-4 weeks for insurance; told not to worry. Couldn't plan for work, but at least getting surgery scheduled in 2019 so insurance would cover. 7. Kassandra took two weeks to file claim; insurance took 2 days. Every woman in support group had surgeries on calendar; only one just waiting. 8. Got a call to schedule surgery; Karla said we're scheduling for January (would cost me money out of pocket; have to take more days off of work since couldn't use break). Brittany been assuring me for months surgery beginning December. Karla said, "Well Brittany is not the scheduler." 9. Karla calls back says fine I can have surgery Christmas Eve. Last straw. 10. Did Dr. Hirsch make an effort to reach out to me after he heard I was leaving? Of course not. I hadn't seen or heard from him since that visit a few weeks out of surgery. Only get access to PA and that is only going through office staff. How does a doctor not reach out to a cancer patient when they are walking away due to the treatment they have received? 11. Brittany called; excuses; no ownership was taken. Said the Christmas date out of their control; hospital only gives them one day per month; for last 4 months instead of telling me to calm down I will get the surgery at beginning of December should have said that might not be a possibility and here is why. Also told they always let patients come in when they call- that was NOT my experience?! A bunch of other things were said but essentially it came down to a big pile of CYA and describing office practices that sound wonderful but aren't true. Going through cancer is hard; four surgeries in one year is rough. Finding more tumors is scary. Luckily every office I have worked with outside of Dr. Hirsch's have been kind, supportive, empathetic and understanding. Run far and fast!!! read more

Dr. Hirsch came HIGHLY recommended to me when i was looking for surgeons to do my breast implant removal surgery and he didn't disappoint. During my consult I instantly liked him and knew he was the one. I was very nervous about booking the appointment for the surgery, but he and his staff were very kind and spent a lot of time talking to me and answering all of my questions. My surgery was one month ago, and I couldn't be happier with my results! He performed a full en bloc capsulectomy as well as a lift and I feel great and look fantastic! Besides that, I have found his office to be very professional and my appointments are always running right on time. I had a basil surgery a few years ago with a skin graph to cover my nose but the skin had lost it's pigment and turned white . Dr. Hirsch recommended Micro Needling to bring back the color in my skin again . I had my first session for my nose and after one week , it's looking so much better and has color back in the skin!
