If I could give this agent and his staff a negative I would. I have had this guy claim to look after my interest for two years. Very arrogant, and cocky. Speaks down to you as if you're a child. I had AAA and Costco, he states he would not wish his worst enemy to have this insurance . I ask him to shop some other policies besides Safeco and he refuses to do it. He claims, " I won't do it but you can do it yourself . " say good bye to your commission . I can shop insurance online, he was recommended by a colleague. He was not the cheapest nor the best rate. He gives poor advice and thinks everyone is stupid about insurance and he is the only one smart enough to understand it. I am reading the other reviews, looks like there is a consensus about this agent. Buyer beware, many other agents and companies willing to earn your hard earned dollar. Terrible customer service and cocky. For an insurance agent. Can find better quality human beings and agents. One can handle a blunt assessment. You were down right rude - saying that you work with good carriers and not the crappy ones. Insinuating that what one has is bad. You did not even hear me out - a prospective client - and made an assessment on minimal data. And were arrogant with your responses. I would have shopped all policies if that made sense. After having been on a family policy with Brian for 6 years, I called to get a quote for a single car policy for myself and he refused to give me a quote upon hearing that I would be shopping around. When using a a policy of his for a cracked windshield a few years back, he belittled me and tried to make he feel guilty for not agreeing to use a shop with 1-star reviews. Happy to not be working with him anymore. Update: I had done some research and flat out told Brian that all of the rates were about the same so I wasn't asking him to low- ball. Brian was unaware of who I contacted, which meant he had no idea what kind of coverage I had looked at. I never said anything about wanting low coverage or low rates, he made that assumption himself. I finally contacted him and he conducted the most thorough review of my current policies with the intent to ensure I had the best coverage for the most reasonable cost. What a great decision on my part -- I just wish I had contacted Brian more quickly. He reviewed all my policies (home, car, rental income property, personal liability), provided the top three choices with optimum coverage and, not only was he able to save me money, he re-tooled ALL my coverage and brought the coverage more into line so that, in the event of an incident (fire, theft, broken pipe, etc.), I would be more fully covered. I have referred my friends, my two brothers, my cousins, and anyone else I meet who has insurance concerns/needs. Everyone who has opted to go with Brian has been thrilled! I have had my home, auto & liability insurance with Brian Ruiz for the past several years. Originally I was quite pleased with both the low premiums and customer service. I had my second negative experience with Brian Ruiz last evening. I originally called Brian about a $4.00 installment charge and even made it a point that because of the small amount it was not a big deal. Upon a follow-up call from Brian last night, I found him to be very confrontational and rude! Brian has my policies with Safeco and upon my attempt to lodge a complaint this morning, I was not able to speak with a live person and was forced to leave an email complaint. I am currently seeking referrals from friends and clients for another insurance agent.
