I recently hired Brian to convert my backyard slope into a terrace. The original landscaping was completed six years ago, and I was impressed with how well Brian matched both the stucco and concrete color to the existing work. He also took responsibility for a few issues that came up during construction -- he replaced a damaged pathway light, repaired a cracked concrete curb, and resodded areas of grass affected by the Bobcat. I genuinely appreciate those efforts. However, I was disappointed that my landscape lighting system was left completely inoperable. The crew cut the landscape wiring in multiple places during excavation, and none of my lights work now. Brian declined to repair the wiring, explaining that they had to "manipulate" the slope and that locating the wires would have been too difficult. He described it as an "easy fix." Maybe for him, but not for me. My electrician charges $225 per hour just for a service call. After several conversations with Brian, we reached an impasse. He maintained that the wiring repair was not his responsibility, so it will now fall on me to hire an electrician and absorb the cost. There is no language in the proposal stating that the contractor is not liable for damage to electrical components. However, the contract does state that "every effort is made to perform this work in a quality workmanlike manner." Given that, I expected the wiring to be repaired as part of good customer service. Two of my neighbors were waiting for my project to be completed so they could hire him next. After hearing about the unresolved wiring issue, they have decided to go with another contractor. For now, I'll be without landscape lighting until I can budget for the repair, which is disappointing after an otherwise solid project. read more

We needed a slab poured for a hot tub installation. Not a big job but of course we wanted it done right. We got a few estimates and all were similar in price. I had the pleasure of having Brian do some concrete work in the front of my home. Brian was honest, courteous and has integrity. Brian came through for me when the HOA here gave me a deadline to work with, as my tree had lifted up the concrete on the sidewalk and it was determined that I was responsible to get it fixed. I thought that I would have to hire another company to take care of the roots of the tree and for discarding the old concrete, but Brian's crew took care of everything from start to finish. I had been looking for a good concrete contractor for awhile, when I saw another person on the Temecula Talks Facebook page, asking for concrete references. One thing about social media, if you're looking for references, people have no qualms about stepping up and telling you who's shoddy, even more so than who's good. Brian's name kept popping up with positive comments, more than any other company. Looking at the pictures of his work, I decided to give him a call. Being a contractor myself, I'm probably more critical than most. The first thing I liked is he showed up on time, and was very knowledgeable in his profession. He was honest in his assessment of my job, and gave me good advice on how to get more for my money. He told me how far out he was scheduling due to the challenges of getting concrete deliveries due to Covid setbacks. Two days later, my bid was emailed to me. I decided to go with it, and am happy I did. The work was completed in a half day (3 small slabs) and his guys cleaned up everything. It turned out beautifully. I did take Brian's advice on expansion joint placement, size and quantity. After all, concrete is not my profession, hence the reason I hired it out to begin with, and i wanted the best results. I urge everyone not to use Brian. I had 3 estimates done by other contractors and then called Brian as our 4th and last one. He came but did not leave an estimate. I text him and he said he would try and get to me that night. I never received so the next morning I asked him if he could get it as we were hoping to make a decision that day. He responded that "apparently you are looking for cheap and Im not cheap." The truth is I'm a stage 4 cancer patient and wanted to get our backyard done so I could enjoy it.
