This is an amazing company! They removed all the trees in my yard, prepped it and poured concrete, installed turf and a picket fence. The owner Paulo, was great to work with. He was extremely responsive, replying to messages promptly,often immediately. He didn't nickel and dime me on every little thing I asked for, yet he was still the least expensive. He was also punctual, always arriving whenever he said he was. He even texted me when he was going to be 5 minutes late. In my experience, it's extremely rare to work with someone who is punctual, especially a contractor or service worker. He always communicated about everything and wasn't afraid to ask follow up questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. His workers were very meticulous. A few things that I really liked about Gutierrez Quality Concrete and why I gave them 5 stars - (1) Polo from GQC reached out to me right away and was at my house same-day to provide a quote, (2) I had a last-minute change request the day of the job and Marvin was very easy to work with and accommodated every ask, (3) Marvin's work was clean, professional, and he knows his concrete. Marvin took the time to put down plastic tarp on my driveway to prevent getting concrete mix everywhere and I noticed he was really organized with cleaning and putting materials away as he completed each step. Since it was a small job, the concrete needed to be mixed by hand and Marvin explained to me that he used a custom mixture of 3 different types of concrete/cement in order to find the right balance of drying-time, strength, and smoothness. I appreciate that level of detail especially since most customers won't know the difference if they just used a bag of quickrete and called it a day. Lastly, and maybe this is (#4) Marvin and Polo were very punctual. First of all, these guys are the best! My husband and I came up with our own design and plan of the backyard we wanted and decided to have Polo do our remodel after having 4 different contractors come to the house for quotes. He seemed very knowledgeable, had very reasonable pricing and came up with some good ideas we hadn't thought of. Polo also had great communication, from day 1! We really liked how easy it was to talk to him and get our ideas across and he made everything so clear and easy to understand through the entire process. It took a couple months before they were able to start our construction, but once they started, they didn't' mess around! lol Some days there would be 6 or 7 people working back there. The whole crew was so nice and respectful of our house and cleaned up every day, leaving no messes. They installed around 2k sq ft. of pavers, DG, new sod, new irrigation/drainage, planted over 30 plants, a few trees and installed over 20 landscape lights for us as well. We really enjoyed seeing the progress every day and are soo so happy with the end result, they did a beautiful job!! I experienced a pipe leak under my driveway. Needless to say I was hoping for some immediate remedy. Based on the reviews in Yelp, I filed a request with Gutierrez Concrete early Saturday afternoon. I received a call from Polo within a few minutes. He offered to drive over and provide an estimate within a half hour. He arrived promptly, was extremely courteous and personable, as well as knowledgeable. After reviewing the situation, he offered to work on fixing the leak the next day, Sunday. His estimate was more than fair, and was on the scene by 7.30 the next morning. We had a sense of where the leak originated. Based on that, they began by cutting a small rectangle in the concrete. Once done, they dug away the dirt and were quickly able to isolate the source of the leak. The leak was several feet under ground. Because of the pipe configuration, Polo drove to town to get the right fittings and additional concrete should it be required. His assistant, Melvin, continued working. They were able to repair the leaking joint, replace the dirt and the concrete within a few hours. Their attention to detail was second to none, as was their desire to go above and beyond. End result: Leak patched in record time. Pavement repair perfect and pristine. I would wholeheartedly recommend Gutierrez Concrete to anyone seeking help with concrete issues. From beginning to end, and even after the job was done, Polo and his crew were great. Resulting in a beautiful walkway, driveway and front yard that we are enjoying every day. Polo is the owner and has years of experience. He does a good job of listening and working with you to design something that you will like. Making changes or adjusting plans was not a big deal with him. He was very flexible and accommodating. Even after installation he followed up with us to make sure we were happy with the results. We decided to go with stamped concrete which really elevated the look. He has some stamps with a slate design that he was willing to use without any extra charge. We decided to go with a custom stamp, which can be rented at an extra charge - its called Elk Mountain, a very mild texture, looks very natural. The artificial turf was done well and with attention to detail. Ask about the aluminum edging, it is sturdy and you can barely see it. We went with AGL 55 plus turf, it has a small amount of yellowish fibers to give it a more natural look. It is a lower profile turf, not to thick or too tall.
