After I was told by another large company based in Fresno that I needed a full duct replacement that would have cost me thousands. Brian's was one of two local companies I called to get an estimate for the full replacement or hopefully just repairs to save money. Brian came out later that afternoon, at my convenience which was great. He gave me his honest opinion and advised me that there was no need for replacement at all. A year later and we are still finding issues with our roof AC install. Still getting minimal air flow to our master bathroom again. The inlet from the roof is leaking air all around the tape job when sprayed off with a hose. The underside edge isn't even clamped down all the way either. The condensation pipe isn't even glued at all joints either so it is leaking on the roof instead of the drainage pipe. An AC install isn't cheap and we have had multiple calls last year after the initial install trying to get things right. You would think with all the quality control checks we requested we would have zero issues at this point. read more

You really don't need to look any further - just go with Brian's heating and cooling if you need a new ac or furnace. I did a lot of research and got quotes from at least 3 other well reviewed companies. I like to compare prices from different companies as well as ask questions about what they recommend in terms of equipment in order to see if there is consistency. You learn a lot by hearing explanations about why they recommend one thing over another, and then doing some research into whether that makes sense or not. After talking to these other 3 companies and Brian's, I can tell you that Brian is really knowledgeable, and does not try to upsell you just to get a sale. He really wants to make sure that you get the equipment that will be most efficient and useful and of the best value to you. We were really confident in our decision to go with Brian's in terms of value, honesty, and standing behind their work. When the crew came to do the furnace and ac replacement, they were also great! It took 2 days and they were so polite and courteous. Wore masks the whole time, put down drop cloths on the areas they were working and walking to from the front door, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the night. They kept us informed and just made it easy to have them working in our house while we were working at home as well. We recently replaced our HVAC system. The workers worked professionally and efficiently. They removed all the ductwork from the attic, and replaced it with new ductwork throughout. The following day, they came to remove our two old Air conditioners and replaced them with two new ones and added more insulation through out the attic. It has improved the temperature in my house so much, I haven't had the need to keep the heater on at all time. **If your angle of your house looks like mine and you don't have a platform, don't waste your time** Set up appointment to get my AC unit cleaned. Waited a week for an appointment. Service guy was on time. Guy went to look at ac unit, got out his ladder, set up his hose. I was doing maintenance on my pool. And he stated he would recommend I get a platform due to the angle of my roof, he stated he would still do it, but he would really recommend one. I was going to sign up for their twice a year maintenance for 180.00. So, I asked are they going to have an issue in the future visits if I don't have a platform. He stated they would just keep recommending it, but it is up to the worker feeling safe. I advised that if I spent the money on a platform, I wouldn't have a use for a professional and I would just wash it myself. He said he was going to call the shop for recommendation. Then came back and said he doesn't feel safe, won't do the job. I don't want someone on my roof who doesn't feel comfortable. If that is the case so be it (kind of odd because the job is mainly on roofs and you should have the appropriate equipment for your job), but I really do feel when I stated that I'm not going to spend 500 plus on a platform installation in the future that it was decided between technician and the shop to not do the job. Big waste of time called new company that requested this picture of the unit to make sure they weren't wasting my time and theirs. Technician saw no issue with the angle and it was 179 for the same deal, but I got to wait another week now due to either this companies unpreparedness to do their job, or lack of ability to future upsell me? **Update** The owner's response tells a lot about the company and I'm truly happy I'm not doing business with him. So, let me respond.... you state it is law to have a ladder and a platform on my roof? Well due to the house recently being purchased please note it passed all inspections, and it was not required. If it was in violation the home loan would of never went through without it being fixed (like other items that were during the purchase). As far as the condition of my roof its still under certification with an actual roofing company (not an ac company) from the purchase so I don't really understand how your opinion in that matter is valid. Now as far as the safety of your employees, I think it's neat that you don't provide your employees with roof hooks or safety harnesses, but I'm the one not concerned with your employee's safety. It's a very honest review letting people know if they have some angle to their roof and no platform to not waste their time or yours. Just as your time is worth money, your customers time is worth money. I'm glad you're good with taking this bad review, it's honest, and honest reviews should be accepted by the business's, it's up to you to be better. I would give them negative stars if I could. This is what you can expect after being their long time customer. Brian's heating and air are very dishonest and do not work with integrity. I called them to come and check my A/C because it was not working efficiently. Tony came out on Tuesday talked about the filters needing to changed, charged me to come out and left. I had to call again 3 days later and Tony and Josh both came out, looked in the attic and at the ground unit and said it would need to be replaced. They gave me a quote for a new unit and talked about ducting work, charged me again for coming out 3 days later for the same problem and said that Michelle would call me on Tuesday morning because Monday was Labor Day. Tuesday morning came and went and with the heat being 111 degrees over the weekend I began calling other HVAC companies to come out and take a look and give me quotes for repairs or a new unit whichever was the best option. After having multiple different companies come out I found out that the duct work was kinked in the attic which causes the unit to run less efficiently, can up your PG&E bill and ultimately wear-out your A/C system. The ducting was split at the return valve, the new ducting I replaced was not brought all the way to the return valve and also not done correctly. I was surprised to find this out because Brian's heating and air replaced ducting in 2016 for me. Brian's heating and air finally called me to follow up with me late Tuesday and when I told Michelle my concerns she did not have Brian or anyone follow up with me. My nephew then called them asking them to return the call for all the items that were wrong and Brian then and only then called me back. I told him that I wanted him to come by the house and look at the issues. When he came out of the attic he said that the duct work was not right and he wouldn't have done it that way. That regardless of whether I wanted to continue doing business with them or not that he would come out and correct it. He said that Mondo had done the duct work in 2016 and he had to fire him for not doing work correctly when it was done. I understand that but his other technicians had been in my attic and made no attempt to fix it and Brian had never followed up on the job since 2016 to current 2020. In fact Brian wouldn't have called me or come by if it wasn't for my nephews phone call. When he was leaving he expressed his apologies for what had happened and had his office send me a new quote for a new system. When he called me this morning I told him that the new quote was more than the original one that he had sent and he had just been at my house and told me that he would be honest and forthcoming with me just like he would his wife or his mother. He then started yelling at me, talking over me and was the most disrespectful, hateful, unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I asked for the money back for the contract I had with them to service the unit because we would no longer have a business relationship. This is the way you will be treated by Brian of Brian's Heating and Air when you are a valued customer who had been with them for years. I'm just grateful nothing worse happened to my home with what was done in my attic. In response to you below. You did not offer to reimburse me, you started yelling at me about $20,000 which I am still questioning where that came from. I am looking forward to receiving the reimbursement from the ducting and duct work I paid for along with the services that I have paid for because of this. You didn't refer me to another company while you were screaming and again, that is no way to treat a customer especially when it was bad work done because of an employee who would not do his job who you had to fire. The service tech arrived and after looking at the capacitor on my A/C told me the replacement cost would be $282. The (exact) replacement part sells for $17.55 on Amazon. I'll let any future customers make up their own mind whether or not to hire these guys. I should add that in re: the business having overhead, taxes and so on, they charged me $144 to show up and the total time the tech was at my home was less than ten minutes so (that) takes care of that. read more

They charged me $180 to install my eco bee the guy basically didn't know what he was doing. I knew I should have canceled the service but I needed to get it installed. I could have installed the eco bee in the inside of the house but I didn't want to mess with the hvac on the roof so that's why I called them after it took him 3 hours to install he only checked if the A/C worked so I asked him to check the heater and he said it should be working and then told me to check it myself later and if it's not working they will come back well I tried turning on the heater today and it doesn't work I called them to come see if the previous guys didn't do his job right and that's why my heater ain't working and now they want me to pay them more than $100 to come look to see if the previous guy didn't do it correctly. Bad customer service honestly go somewhere else I only went with them because the old thermostat had their information. And i know I should have checked the heater after her left or made him do it himself but it was in July when this happened it was too hot to be running the heater. read more

TERRIBLE!! A "2 day" job turned out to be a whole month! They are not on time, give you wrong information, make you wait forever and hacked up my ceiling with crooked vents! Left a mess! They eyeballed making the vent holes without using a template or ruler. Did not patch the holes in the ceiling while looking for a place to put the vents. Very unprofessional! I am very upset and they had the nerve to put their sign on our lawn. They really need to train their employees efficiently. Two out of three employees do not have much experience. One of them was the first time doing an installatIon! We felt like our house was an experiment. They damaged our house, said they would fix It, and never did. They had to come back three times because it didn't pass the inspection. There is still more to be fixed but we got tired of dealing with them. They cant even get their paperwork correct. This took place over a two month period at the beginning of the summer with over 100 degree temperatures. Our AC recently died, i called two different repairmen to check it. The first one that came to my house charged $100 to clean it, it worked for about 30 minutes then stopped blowing cool air. I called them and they came back again the next day, same thing, it worked for 30 minutes then stopped. I called them again but they never answered me any more. Second repairmen said the motor was bad, I was charged $400, the ac never worked. I decided we needed a new one, I called Brians to schedule an estimate, Brian himself came to my house the next morning and gave me an estimate, he was cordial and professional. I wanted to shop around because buying an AC unit is not cheap. I had three other companies giving me estimates, 2 of them came to my house, one of them charged over double the price of Brian's estimate, the other one about 3000$ over Brian's estimate and for a lower quality AC unit. The third company was the first repaiman that never answered me, he had the audacity to send me a text selling me a unit for almost 13,000. We decided on Brian's, we had to wait a week after letting them know we would like to buy from them because of other orders they had. SAVE yourself time and money...and suffering, and go with Brian's. I scheduled the installation on a Tuesday if I recall correctly and they where here promptly, the work was done with no problems. I cant say how happy we are with our new unit and even happier that we saved much more wth Brian's. Their whole team has great customer service. This is for Brain. I disagree with your explanation of the situation. AC fileters do not need to be changed every month, like you technician suggested. They are usually changed at the begining of the season - which is what I usually do. Further, he did not point out 2 problems, he "diagnosed" one problem at a time, and said filter was the problem, then capacitor was the problem, and then the motor was the problem. The other company that finally came within 2 hours and fixed my AC did not find any problems that your technician had pointed out. In fact I specifically asked about the capacitor and they said it was doing pretty good. My AC was up and running within a few minutes, at a fraction of the cost. I suggest that you change your technician and get someone more qualified. Thanks for not invoicing me, but that gesture would have been better appreciated if you hadn't threatened to take me to collections. read more

Completely Satisfied New Customer. As I was looking for a new air conditioner and furnace system to replace my 25 years old Carrier AC, I learned Lennox is a top tier brand. I then contacted several locally owned reputable companies. Brian's Heating and Cooling Inc gave me the best presentation, no high pressure sales, and recommended the mid-range products: Elite EL18XCV AC and Signature Collection SL280 variable-speed gas furnace with the latest Ecobee thermostat Alexa voice control. Two other companies gave me a $1500 and $3200 higher written quote prices for the exact same models. One company claimed a PG&E energy rebate. I contacted PG&E. There is no rebate. Needless to say, this company gave me a dishonest presentation. I am a 28 years Costco member. Thinking Costco can give the best deal with 10% money back. It turned out that contractor quote me $3200 higher even after the 10% money back. I am disappointed with the Costco's Lennox deal. On the day of the installation, a team of four-member crew spent two days to remove and install the new system as scheduled. They are professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to the customer concerns noting the COVID environment. Throughout the process, the office contacted me to schedule, confirm the scheduling, and follow up. I am completely satisfied with their service. Always deliver good service, timely responses and genuine concern for us. While it's not always my favorite thing to do - deal with a/c repairs - I always enjoy working with Brian and the crew. Today they replaced an a/c motor in my 35 year old a/c unit. The bearing were noisy and when they checked in out in May, they advised we would need to replace it soon. Very dishonest & RIP offs **Stay Away** I would give this company a negative if I could! I own a home in Madera, CA which is currently being rented out. I have a property management who handles all my maintenance calls, so I trusted there recommendation. They called on Brian's numerous occasions when the AC would not cool. The first time they came out they claimed they checked the whole A/C system for leaks & did not find any,$200 to recharge. then apx. 4 months later same thing happened guess what? again no leaks found another $200 to recharge. About a year ago I moved into the home the A/C system was not working (again), so I did a visual inspection myself (not an a/c guy), what I found was refrigerant oil leaking past the evaporator core fitting (same place where the refrigerant had been leaking from), simple fix tighten the fitting & call an A/C guy to come out & refill the system, problem fixed. I used the A/C that whole year w/ no problems. I ran the A/C day & night (I'm from the bay area so the heat did not sit well with me) w/no issues. The house was vacant for 2 months. When the new tenants moved in within 60 day's the A/C stopped cooling, guess who my property management company called? That's right Brian's Heating & A/C. The guy came out found a bad dual run capacitor, he replaced the capacitor w/o my approval for $268 just for the part. I went down to home depot the following day & found dual run capacitors for $17.00 what a rip off, I was furious I called the phone number listed on the invoice & asked to speak to the owner. I explained the situation to him thoroughly & he gave me a sorry a$$ excuse for why their is such a difference between what they installed in my home & home depot's part "OH the quality of the sheet metal casing is thicker & it is much better quality w/a 5 year warranty", i doubt this dual run capacitor installed by an incompetent company is going to last 5 years, but anyway's no later then 35 days the A/C stopped working again it was on a Saturday. The management company once again called Brian's they came out & this time they said it was a condenser fan they replaced it w/an aftermarket fan to the tune of 636.00 dollars the motors sell for 150.00 at home depot they charged me $511.00 + service call. What the Hell. I Called my management company & told them to never use this company for my house again. PS: The A/C unit is a LENNOX installed in 2007 read more
