Once you step inside the winery, you automatically feel like you are walking through the enchanted forest from a Disney movie. Upon arrival, you are greeted by the hostess and escorted to the table or picnic setup of your choice. They offer three options for wine tasting. We decided to try their white wine tasting special and charcuterie tray. Each wine tasting special comes with 5 different wines. Our sommelier was so friendly and generous with one of the Rose tastings that we ended up loving it so much and purchased a bottle to take home! What I loved most about this winery was how super relaxed and chill the atmosphere was and the beautiful setting of this winery. Everywhere you turned was a perfect photo backdrop! This is one my favorite wineries in Temecula. It's a little fairy tale oasis tucked away from the main, busy road. And then reservation only style ensures they aren't overrun or too crowded to enjoy the space. The wines can be on the pricier side, but the quality and taste are well worth it. When you walk in this winery, you will be in love with it! We went inside and were greeted by Peggy who was so sweet and welcoming! She gave us some information about the winery and how the tastings work, then handed us off to our server, Dorian. Then, we got the most spirited story time with Dorian to learn about the history of the property. Dorian could read the phone book and she could hold the attention of anyone that has ears to hear. We strolled around the grounds and it is just so beautiful and quaint! There is plenty of shade and a wonderful breeze flows through the courtyard, even when you are expecting extreme heats. I had been to Briar Rose Winery a couple times before but it had been many years since the last time. I probably would have been here more often but they are one of the few (if not the only) winery that requires reservations. The best thing about this winery is actually how cute it is. It has lots of undercover Disney touches which they can tell you about. The "cottage" is adorable and the overall property is very nice. The service is good and the wine is fine. Not the best but nothing bad. The tastes seem to be much smaller than what other wineries give you. So if you are trying to drink-drink this is not a place for you but if you want a nice experience this is a good spot. read more

It's a cute little cottage that'll transport you into a Disney princesses movie. The waitresses were kind and thoughtful. Unfortunately, the wine tasting was very disappointing . The tasting was $35-$40 per person and just horrible. Especially the reds. I gave a 3 star out of respect to the servers, otherwise I would have given a 1 star. read more

This place was super disappointing. My husband grew up beside Disney land and we were excited about the Snow White Cottages built by a early on employee. Upon arrival no one made an effort to explain the history to us. Then we both ordered a flight for 30$ per person and it was the smallest flight we've ever had. On top of that the server didn't tell us anything about the wine, give us new glasses ( per each wine ) or even offer us water. We're not super picky people at all but wine tasting 101- (You get a new glass for each tasting). read more

We had such a lovely time here. The grounds are beautiful and photo worthy. The staff are very prompt and friendly. My favorite was their rose wine. The rest was a bit too acidic for me. And they have a cat on the grounds- so sweet. It's very quiet and hidden away, and I love the Disney theme. read more

The winery itself is incredibly beautiful! The lady checking in people was so sweet! We also met an adorable friendly cat named Patches. I do think it was priced too high for what it was. My boyfriend and each did our own tasting since he's more into reds than I am. For the cost of the tasting (taste 5), we were given such a little amount. Also, we got the Charcuterie box, which was $20 and it was also very underwhelming and tiny. So I definitely don't think it's worth the money. The wine we ended the tasting on was called the Talking Frog and it tasted like a candle, and was disappointing to end on. This winery is reservations only, but it's extremely easy to get a same day appt. What I loved most about this winery is how relaxed the atmosphere is. It's never going to be over crowded and instead of staying at the wine tasting bar to get your tasting, you have a seat outdoors in the shade and they come to you. They have a beautiful british cottage with a lovely garden. They don't serve food but you are encouraged to bring your own. The wine is really good. The viogner has lovely pear tones, smooth and delicate. Really enjoyed it.My friends enjoyed their well tempered muscato not too sweet and with plenty of aromas. Interesting visit here. We made an appointment with a birthday group. They would not seat us until the whole group arrived, which was odd since there was no tour involved and there were plenty of empty outdoor tables - the only place to enjoy the wine it seemed. Indoor drinking areas were closed off or non- existent, which is strange for the very hot climate of Temecula. We put in our orders for tasting flights. We paid for several red flights and a couple of white flights. No one came to serve us for at least 30 minutes. Finally, someone came out and apologized that whoever took our order forgot to bring it to the server's attention. Clearly we wanted wine. We made an appointment in advance and were sitting in the courtyard without wine for half an hour. Please don't just blame the kid. Once we started receiving the wine, it was made abundantly clear to us several times that we were receiving "bonus" size pours to make up for the inconvenience. Got it, thanks. Though our server didn't know who had red or white flights, so some mixing and matching occurred. Now, to be fair, the wines were solid. Both reds and whites ranged from average to the very good. However, bottle prices to go were extravagant with the Cabernet over $100 and many in the $50 range - already ultra premium price point. We did enjoy the outdoor venue, the porch swing, their proud Disney connections, and the wine itself. Organization could be improved as well as the facilities. An indoor tasting room option would be nice as would improved bathrooms. During our visit, a bachelorette party occupied the only bathroom for almost half an hour. The bathroom itself is extremely small and wasn't very clean especially after four people clown car'ed their way in there. Compared to other wineries in the area, I found Briar Rose to be very solid 3-star. Pricey, appointment only, a bit hokey, and disorganized. With so many places to visit for wine in Temecula, I'm not sure I can confidently recommend it. read more

Came here to with my mom and sister. As soon as you walk in there is a sign that says "wait here to be seated." We waited for over 8 minutes and we had to find the host to seat us. Unfortunately, a couple that walked past us were greeted first knowing very well we were there first. We were ignored and not given the proper greeting or directions on how to go about wine tasting at their vineyard. The couple before us got a different greeting and they were super friendly compared to us. Yea, I'm Latina but I've never felt discriminated or felt like I didn't belong there. After the older host greeted the couple before us, we were simple directed to sit anywhere. We waited for over 5 minutes to get a menu. Once the hostess who seemed younger than the older hostess came over and said this is our wine lists and we have little charcuterie board's pre packed. As soon as that happen I quickly called my husband to take us to Akash winery where we are members. It took us over 15 to 20 minutes for us to be seated or given a menu. I'm very disappointed that I came here and the hostess made me feel as I didn't belong here. I've seen reviews on tik tok but after coming here personally I'm very disappointed and annoyed that people still can make you feel this way. I'm no different then any other person. A beautiful secret garden for wine tasting. Small family run winery where they truly put their heart and soul into their wines. Spending an afternoon in this beautiful setting is divine. They are in an elevated part of Temecula so there is a lovely breeze and beautiful views. Try the Temecula Two and the Rose. Adding: If the setting seems a little familiar and you're not sure why it's because the buildings were built and designed by one of the original Disney Imagineers. He sold the property to the family that currently owns it and lived on the property for the rest of his life. If you ask the staff they can point out the parts of the buildings and the fountain that were supposed to be part of Disneyland attractions. I really enjoyed this fairytale winery. I came here with my boyfriend and the vibe was very chill. You pick a picnic table and their servers will help you out. I thought prices were very reasonable and I ended up going home with a bottle of wine! They allowed us to explore their property and there is a little gift shop on site. Such an amazing place! First, the staff and owners are so welcoming, friendly and non-pretentious, down to earth people. They are very informative of their wines and all the aspects of producing them. If someone does not know an answer, they find a person who does. The wines...I enjoy almost everything they have! This place is too cute! It is a replica of Snow White's cottage exactly like Disneyland. Inside the private tasting room, there is a lovely mural and seven dwarves looking down from the mantel. I brought family from out-of-town here and we all enjoyed ourselves. Halfway through the tasting, we were all hammered. I stopped after 3 tastings because I still had to drive. The sparkling wine with a frog on the bottle was my favorite. It tastes like 7-up. Reservations required and they are very strict about it. They will not let you in one minute early. A friend of mine and I made it to the winery in time to have a glass yesterday. He has only tasted from the big wineries here in Temecula. When he tasted the BR Cab he couldn't believe it was from Temecula. There wine is on another level in terms of fruit forwardness, body, and pleasure on the palette. I personally had their 2018 Zin that was so tasty I almost consider it a dessert wine. I could have enjoyed that with some cinnamon toast with apple butter on top. This Zin was amazing. It was a refreshing glass considering the typical approach to winemaking found inTemecula. The winemaker for BR has kept the artistic and personal touch which is lacking in many wineries. I really wanted to like this place but service and music set up was horrible They want you to make reservations online, which I did and we arrived 5 minutes early to our time. We wanted a few minutes for the hostess to come over and then were seated in the front patio section of the area. The lawn and house were very cute. We could hear fairly loud live music coming from their parlor area, but it wasn't too bad in the front area. Tasting prices were on the high end, but it didn't matter as we never got to tasting anything. We sat there for 20 minutes with no service. Twice the hostess asked us if anyone had come over and we told her no. We could see her pointing us out to the servers but they never came over. Finally after the second time of confirming we had no service and no one showed up another live musician sat in front of the patio area and starting singing, which clashed with the music coming from the parlor. Wine + Disney? This place was made for me!! A Disney Imagineer actually opened this winery, and modeled their house after Snow White's cottage. Briar Rose is of course, named after Sleeping Beauty. The logo on their bottles is the rose from Beauty and the Beast. There's also random artifacts from Disneyland attractions scattered all over the property. I am totally in love!! Okay the dwarfs and gnomes were a little creepy, but that's just me. Not to mention, the wine's pretty good as well. Not the best I ever had, but not bad. I tried both the red and white flights. I've been frequenting Temecula for five years now, and I have been to almost all of the wineries. I had never visited Briar Rose before because it was by appointment only. I am usually with a group of people and we don't stick to any particular schedule, so I thought this would be a hassle. It's not! I went on the Briar Rose website and filled out the contact form for a reservation. I was immediately emailed back and within a few minutes I had everything set. When we visited yesterday we learned two things. 1 - The appointments are simply because this winery is in a neighborhood and the city forced them to be by appointment only so there wouldn't be huge party busses and crowds disturbing the other residents. 2 - You can call when you are on your way to make an appointment, it doesn't need to be planned in advance. The owner said majority of the time 10 - 15 minutes notice is good enough, but if they are busy, they will request that you come a bit later. I can work with that. The house this winery is in used to be a private residence, but is now only used as a winery. It was built by a man who worked for Disney and helped build Toon Town, Indiana Jones, and other parts of the park. I am not a big Disney buff, but if you are, you will love this place, the same detail that you see at Disneyland, you will see here. Even if you are not into Disney, this place is very cute. I like that it is by appointment only, it keeps it calm and quiet. When we arrived we were the only ones there, and towards the end of our visit another party of two arrived. Much better than massive crowds of annoying people. You check in and pay in one room, and move to another room to taste. You can choose to sit at the bar or at a table. If you sit at a table, they serve you, so you don't have to get up to get your tastes. It's nice. They have two tasting menus, one is mostly whites and $15, the other contains more reds and I believe it was $25. We went with the $15 list and enjoyed it very much. We tasted Gewürztraminer, Viognier, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, We Remember (a Bordeaux style), and Talking Frog, their sparkling hybrid of Hefeweizen and white wine, very champagne like. I enjoyed all of the wines, aside from the Chardonnay, it was just a bit too much for me. The We Remember was a really unique wine that is smoked while in the barrels, so you actually smell and taste the smoke. Different for sure, but good. It was like drinking a fruity campfire. I am definitely going to tell my usual wine tasting group that we should check this place out. The owner and server were both really sweet and welcoming and made our visit here very nice. When we were done tasting we wandered around the property for a bit and my friend took pictures of all the little statues and decorations in the garden, the owner didn't mind one bit. read more

We arrived with a reservation for our party of 20. We were informed they didn't have our reservation even though we had a confirmation on one of our phones. The woman was so extremely rude to us about it. She obviously didn't want us there and made us feel like a burden. We bypassed the tasting and just ordered a couple bottles of wine to make it easier for them. We were nice, very flexible and told them we would just stand over in the grass. But nothing was good enough for the woman that worked there. She was bitchy the entire time and honestly put a damper on our fun Bridal Shower adventure. The place is cute, cottage homey feel. The girl who did our wine tasting seemed scattered since she kept going in & out of the welcome room. We didn't mind since we wanted to just sit outside and relax. Then I requested to just use all my tastings on 1 wine but she said she's have to do separate pours, which was odd. So I'd have to go back in for each little pour for the same wine? Then she realized it did t make sense so she just poured all the tastings. Then we took our puppy out for a few photos. He was sitting on my lap. Immediately the manager told us no dogs anywhere and she pretty much kicked us out. I told her we are just going take a quick photo and she stood nearby -photo bombing the pic and looking pissed. We went to the front area and we took some photos near the carriage which is just a few steps from the parking lot and the manager Stacey followed us and said "no dogs anywhere near the premises." So as we got ready to go a random dog started walking up the hill towards us. We pet him and started to walk towards the house nearby but the owner who's also a neighbor arrived. We explained to him our horrible experience and he said the staff has been changing constantly. It's unfortunate b/c he said the owners were great people. He told us to let the owner know which I totally forgot to. He also said a dog killed their cat so they are probably upset about that. My dog is small 8Ib and no threat to anything. Regardless I would have honored their policy but how she stated it was very rude and unprofessional. This was last year, and the reason I'm writing so late is I just found the managers card Stacey Thomas in one of my bags. I will contact the owners as well and hope they retrained or replaced her. When finding it, you drive through a neighborhood and school, so may think you're going the wrong way, but don't worry, you're not. They are reservations only. I emailed them about two weeks before I intended to go, and changed the date and time after I confirmed my first reservation, so they're pretty flexible on that front, although I'm not sure how flexible to get a reservation the day of or days before. I picked a reservation right at their opening time- 11am, the employees were actually a little late due to paving of certain roads- that was fine. The grounds are beautiful and it was sunny out, so we just sat in the garden. They have a personal server that comes to you, and you have the choice of sitting inside or outside- we sat outside and tried the standard tasting ($15) which is more whites and one red. They also have snacks for purchase, but I think you can bring your own and have a picnic if you wanted. The Talking Frog and Viognier were delicious and we took bottles of those home. Definitely a nice winery to go to and since they are reservation only, it does not get crowded, so it can be an intimate outing. read more
