Came to this winery for a tasting for two. Showed up mid-afternoon on a Friday, and it was fairly busy inside. My wife and I had scheduled an Amphorae tour. This type of winemaking differs from traditional wines because large ceramic vats are used in the winemaking process. Our tour guide was Hunter. He was very knowledgeable about the different varieties of grapes on the vineyard and was also able to describe how the vines grow, are trained, and pruned. He also explained the bottling process to us. After the tour, we returned to the tasting area where we met Kyle. He was doing a great job managing a bachelorette party. Both Kyle and Hunter kept it light and professional. The vineyard offered a great deal on a case of wine. Luckily, we drove out so we have a case to take home. So so wonderful!! We were staying right up the road at an Airbnb, we are crazy and chose to walk here from it to then walk up back and hit all the other wineries along the way. So this winery is really unique. They still make their wines in the terracotta amphorae. These large clay jars were used for wine making and storing of wine throughout the Mediterranean during Biblical times. They gave us a short history lesson and tour. Which no other wineries did that on the wine tour. Really nice place but be prepared to wait on those tasting because this winery was extremely busy. And I do mean busy. I don't think they had enough staff members for the Mother's Day crowd. read more

Leisha, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic -- incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the history and process of amphorae wine making. The relaxed vibe was very chill and made it easy to have a conversation with your party and event he bartender if it's not too crowded. Tour was very short but it was nice to see where they make the wine and hear the history of this winery and learn more about the wine making process. Beautiful outside area to sit and relax. Very sunny -- not a ton of coverage or umbrellas. The chairs were also a bit cheap. But, the wine was great. Very dog friendly. They have water for dogs and some were even roaming around. They had the best brut rose. Service was very friendly. Cute little spot my wife and I stumbled upon one night. We walked in and right away were greeted. The gentleman behind the bar took his time as we tried different wines to get the perfect one! He nailed the flavors for us! They are all super nice there. Fun, modern, friendly place. The merch is also super cool. Wineries like Somerset make a good place to get Christmas gifts. Especially me because my family lives in another state. The night we were there a couple of older guys were jamming singing live, having fun and kept the evening chill. First time at Somerset and I feel that overall everything was a 4/5. The ambiance was very nice with outside seating and indoor seating. The inside is pretty dark inside and has their tastings which is only $25 for 5 tastings. They give you chips to use to try each tastings. The muscat is my fav, especially if you like sweeter wine. The service was good hunter was phenomenal and made sure to explain all the wines and the taste level. Spent the weekend with a group of friends at the Somerset estate this past weekend. What a beautiful setting. The estate itself is massive and was great for the seven couples that attended the getaway. It could use some updating but all in all it was a great experience. A recent trip to Temecula with Te-see and her hubby was fantastic in many ways! The first stop was to the Somerset Vineyard. I had not explored this area of Temecula before. It was venturing out to places new to us. The vibe and service was superb! The staff were were welcoming. You can tell when the staff loves their job, it shows in their passion and friendly manner in which they greet and recommend items based on your preferences. We started our tasting, then ventured out to the outdoor sections. The first area had lots of seating and live entertainment. I'm visiting this quiet tranquil Gem hidden in the trails of wine country, yet easy to get here. I walked around to experience the beautiful landscape. Inside I was able to feel the Welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the patio with the warm sun & breeze just right to enjoy our wine tasting starting at $25. We came early this Saturday morning by the time it was 2PM it was bustling with events & what seemed like Tour buses. It didn't get crowded but it was busy. We came here on a wine tour and it was really cool because we got to go back and see the terra-cotta pots that they aged the wine in and they have a few lines that they create from that process so I thought that was really cool. We were not able to taste them, however, so that was kind of a little bit disappointing but since they had such a small yield, it is understandable. They had a few good wines that we tasted and then we also got a full glass of it, and it was really cute inside. It would be nice in the summer to sit outside too. I thought it was a very unique winery and we would probably come back when we were in Temecula again. read more

Had a very nice tour and got to see the old fashioned Terra cota pots they use to make some of their wine. This is the old way of making wine and you can absolutely taste the difference in the wine. It's not necessarily a better flavor or worst. It's all interpretation and taste. We ended up liking the white granache they offered so bought a bottle. All very reasonably priced wines and most of what we tried was delicious. The ambiance is very Spanish style and felt warm and cozy. Our tasting included 5 glasses of any wine on their menu including a few sparkling wines. My hubby and I went for the reds. However, I wanted to taste the 2023 Drunk Bunnies Symphony - a white with notes of orange blossom, jasmine & peach. It was refreshing but a tad too sweet for me. We bought a bottle of the 2021 Petite Sirah, which was dark and smooth. ($50 a bottle) A little history about Somerset: Brother's Kurt and John Tiedt decided to go into the wine making business with a group of close friends on this 14 acre vineyard producing sustainably farmed varietals from Southern France as well as select regions in Spain. We decided to visit a spontaneous winery very close to our Airbnb. We chose Somerset out of the blue and we are so happy that we did. Jason , was our fantastic server. He poured some very very interesting wines. Hubby and I were in Temecula for a short staycation and out of the 4 wineries we ended up going to, this was by far our favorite. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is fantastic - Leisha did an extraordinary job teaching us the history about their wine making process, this is the only winery in temecula that have wine made in Terracotta pots and boy it was tasty. If you get a chance, I highly recommend the tour, the pots are HUGE and gorgeous. I'm not sure if you can get a tasting of their special wine without the tour. I wasn't a fan of their white wine but I enjoyed several of their reds - I'm normally a red wine drinker so don't take my word in regards to the whites. Their sparking wine was a little too sweet for me but good. Make sure to check our Somerset, this will be a regular stop for us whenever we head out to Temecula. read more

First time here with the family for our Christmas outing. Easy to get to, parking right out front which was great for my FIL that uses a cane. They have indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas, I didn't see any heat lamps though. We sat inside next to the fireplace. Chasen was our wine host and told a great story about the history. The nice thing about their tasting is that you can choose if you want a combo of reds and whites or just red or just white; we had just white since it was day time. The property also has 9 bedrooms and a pool for a wedding or other celebration. They had a pizza truck making wood fire pizza from the parking lot. I have been to Somerset Vineyard and Winery at least three times now, and this winery stands out as my favorite of the several wineries I have visited in Temecula. I first checked it out during an event for the California Teacher's Association and the other times during wine tours with friends. Every time I have been there, I have enjoyed the wine tour, the amazing friendly staff, and all the delicious wines! The outdoor area has always been a lovely place to hang out while enjoying our beverages and nibbling on delicious pizza (every time we've been there, we've been lucky enough to have the pizza truck). They also have had live music at least one of the times, so that's an added bonus. This was a great idea to go to Somerset. Approximately 4 miles away from KOA site that we are staying at. As soon as we got out of the truck we knew it was gonna be nice. The sprawling outdoor sitting area gave you comfort that There is plenty of room. This was our first time here, we walked through the doors just at the right time there wasn't too many people here yet, and found a great place to get comfortable inside, and we brought our little dog Jasper . A cute couple (George and Grace ) were setting up to play live music. and they even dedicated a song to our Jasper, and they sang to him a little bit. That was really funny. We decided that we would do wine tasting . Jen was helping us. She was greatest ! and their wine was excellent. I really enjoyed the El Maestro and Le Sep. We really enjoyed our stay and we were not in a rush to get out of there. On our way out, we bought a few bottles of wine. I look forward to coming back again. read more
